if you do not want your children to see Sexual Innuendo, Mooning Smilies, or references to different Sexual Orientations, then they need to stay off the Internet - period.

Buy them some books to read and let them play some G-rated video games as entertainment.

To answer your question, no I really don't think the DIS is anymore PG-13 or above rated than previous years. There are some threads that talk about things, some of them stay, some of them go, sometimes people get a warning or a banning, and sometimes they don't.

That has been true for years.

Generalizations aren't usually very accurate, and hyperbole tends to make one lose credibility in a discussion. I think you just got angry because the majority didn't agree with you and found holes in your statement, and now you're resorting to questioning people's morals as a defense mechanism. I resent that.

I don't feel like the OP at all. Yes, things have changed around the DIS from when I was first here. However, most of that is just with a few particular folks and I just try to avoid them. I don't censor the things my children read or hear. I have never done that and don't intend to start now. My girls are 15 and 12. I think the reason I don't and never have censored what they are exposed to is because they went so much when their dad was killed that pretty much anything is else is not that earth shattering. I feel like they are equipped to take in information and process it for themselves. They can decide what is good and bad or right or wrong. I don't have to do that for them. We are not here to judge anyone and the choices they make. I have found many wonderful friends through the DIS. I have been comforted when I was down, showered with more than I could have ever imagined, and, I hope, have offered comfort and support when someone needed it. Those are true life lessons and I want my children to read, feel, and understand it.
