We are travelling with a very curious 2 year old...
Any advice on what we may need to bring with us to help in childproofing? Cabinet locks, etc.

Also, is there a closet next to the entry door in all 1 bedrooms, or is that only on dedicated 1 bedrooms (if there are any?!?)

Thanks!

We bring those inserts for the electrical outlets. We also pack a portable gate (it has a bar on top, bar on the bottom and netting between) that we've brought before. Something like that might be nice to keep them out of the kitchen (knives, cleaning agents, etc.) It rolls up just to the size of the two bars. Balcony might be an issue as well if they can stand up on chairs. Sometimes a little rope can come in handy, to temporarily tie a door off for an area where you don't want them in due to hazards. Great question, they can be into everything and we don't want any little ones hurt. We also make sure to pin our names and hotel on the inside of thier pockets just in case they might get separated form us in the parks. We also try to teach them only to approach CMs for help, and show them the badges to look for. Just some thoughts.

Mental block on my part....was it BCV or AKL that had a latch at the top of the balcony door to prevent the shorter crew from opening the door. I seem to think it was at BCV? Does anyone know for certain?

BCV does have a lock at the top of the balcony doors. Just be sure to test it as it doesn't always work the way you may think it does. Also there are TWO balcony doors in a 1BR suite (at least there were in ours), one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. Make sure they're both locked whenever you're not actually on the balcony.

Another hotel safety problem with toddlers is that they may lock themselves in the bathroom. I'm not sure if this is a problem at BCV but it is in most hotels. I suggest
(1) duct tape to tape over the locking mechanism
(2) a very small philips-head screwdriver, and a large paperclip. Often the only way to open the lock from the outside is through a small hole in the doorknob. One of these items will probably do the trick.

from a paranoid dad of two ex-toddlers.

Good tip about the locked doors. Had that happen recently where a dime worked to turn an outside slot in the knob which opened the locked door. I can't remember what it takes to open a locked BCV bathroom door. Could easily happen with the separate toliet room.

There are foam thingies you can buy for the top of the doors. It prevents the door from closing. You can also hang a towel on the top of the door.

The upper lock (or maybe it was the lower one?) on our BCV studio did not work. It was fixed after a few phone calls.

Good luck!
