We used Kids Night out and they were fantastic.
Our son/wife had just moved to FL with our grandaughter. She was a preemie, behind, still having the breathing treatments (whatever they called them). Kids Night Out was wonderful, listening to what we needed and setting us up with the perfect sitter. Keep in mind, we had this wonderful woman from 8am to 10pm. We paid for her lunch and dinner, and we have her a good hour break around dinner time while we changed for our evening event (this was during food wine fest).
When we did it, you are required to pay for one meal for the sitter. We just gave her money to go to buffet at beach club with grandaughter. The woman brought a stroller, all the toys, books, etc. Plenty of things to keep busy for such a long time. Our grandaughter took to her just fine. When we came back at 10pm grandaughter was sound asleep in the travel crib like it was just another day.
Yes, they are more expensive (by the time we paid the rate, lunch which was our choice and tipped the wonderful woman) than the average babysitter, but nothing is too good for our grandaughter and our peace of mind. It was well worth the cost. She had all of our cell phone numbers in case of emergency.
They will not do any water activites with the kids including bathing.
I can't say enough about how great they were and we would definately use them again.
