We recently returned from Disney. My 5yr old son has multiple allergies- lactose, peanuts, tree nuts and eggs. At each TS the chef came out to discuss what he could and could not eat. O'Hana and Kona Cafe had especially helpful chefs that brought out special dishes for him and his cousin (who wanted exactly what he had no matter what). They also went out of their way to provide Chocolate Silk soy milk- his favorite.

It was so nice to be about to eat without worry.

this is great to hear...we go in Dec and my 2 yr old has severe peanut allergy...I am nervous...but have heard it;ll be fine!

My ds is so happy to know there will be places he can eat at DW. His food allergies limit his choices so much.

:wizard:When my extremely ill son was a little guy we went to D-Land in Calif. He was so ill he could barely walk, so we put him in a wheelchair and decided NOT to cancel the trip as maybe a shot of optimism would help (it did a thousand fold). He had recently been diagnosed (on top of other immunity issues) with several severe life threatening food allergies. All nuts, wheat, corn, soy and banana. We worried so much. I repeatedly called Chef Chris Justanesen (head chef of DisneyLand resort at that time, maybe still). He was wonderful. Made sure the Dis Hotel knew when we would be there and had a list of childs allergies, and other health concerns. MET us at our hotel restaurant on 1st day! Took a My Personal Disney Chef photo with my son (complete w/tall white hat and whisk).
Every where we went did a fantastic job of feeding him safely. Not just Table Service, but character buffets, counter service. A hot dog counter on Main Street USA even had Gluten Free buns!!!!
We are now dedicated disneyaholics. The world does it even better than the Land (if that's possible). :earsboy:
My little boy (not little any more) has safely vacationed and eaten there for 6 years. He has had nut free gluten free brownie sundaes (a favorite), gluten free mac and cheese, etc. etc. We are going back in Sept. and we have free dining woohoo:mickeyjum:tigger::sulley::dumbo::donald::ccat:

Oh, I just LOVE reading this thread!!! So glad you guys have had the same wonderful experiences we have!
We have had so many great memories in our 3 disney trips and with the allergies, the food piece is just HUGE!!!

I would love to hear restaurant reviews, if you have them?
