Child Swap

I have a tall 3 yr old (I believe he measures 42") but there is no way he will ride Tower of Terror. I was thinking we would get a child swap pass for that one, but then I noticed that the height requirement is 40" for that ride...Are we out of luck on that one?

In this kind of case, it will not be a conventional "rider/child swap."
When you reach the CM outside the queue (outdoors, front lawn) ask the CM your question.

There is sometimes a procedure that they will allow a child to wait with one adult
in the unloading area (same floor as the gift shop) and the allow other adult(s) to ride.

After that ride, the adults and swap and the final adult can go up (via a "regular elevator) to the loading area so (s)he can ride.

No guarantees.

As Robo said there are unfortunately no guarantees. You could have him wait with you in line and if he gets too scared to ride they should let you do a child swap where an adult waits with the little one since he is too young to wait on his own (official rule is 7) and then the adults swap and the other should be taken right on.

You could get lucky thought and the FP person might just give you the ticket to make it less of a hassle.

You don't have to be under the height requirement to use Rider Switch. This is from the Disney website:

The waiting adult can then board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again when another adult in the party returns to supervise the child or children who do not ride—either because they do not meet the height requirement or simply do not wish to ride.

That info has been quoted many times.
Unfortunately, like much found on the Disney website, it can prove to be inaccurate under actual park conditions.

The Disney website also states that resort buses start running to the parks at one hour before the park opens.
Again, much-quoted bad info.

understandable! But I also just went with my little munchkins and had no problem with the CMs for many rider swaps.... they even gave me a return FP paper ticket for Jungle cruise when I asked if we could "child swap" due to unexpected napping Of course, they WERE too short for most things at the time. Now that they have passed the 38" barrier I am brainwashing them with youtube videos of 7DMT.
