How does child swap work at DL? I know what rides have it but I am not sure how it works. We will be traveling with 6 adults and 3 children and a baby. How do Fastpasses work along with child swap? Thanks for the help.

They just give you passes at the entrance to the ride. Not sure how many they will give you but you just basically enter the fast pass line with the swap pass after the first group returns. You wait outside the ride though.

Normally what we do since we've been going since dd was 3, and ticketed... is get FPs using all 3 of our tickets for the rides DD won't go on. Then before going on, mention to the cm that we are going to child swap. DH will ride using FP#1. When he comes off, I will ride using child swap--and go in the FP line or however they send you (on Splash I had them send me up the exit, I think for Screamin too before)... Then we've repeated this 2 more times at varying times during the day... so each of us can ride 3 times if we want... or we'll switch it up and get FPs for different rides (1 for Splash, 1 for Indy, 1 for Space) and one person uses the FP, the other uses the child swap pass... makes it pretty quick to both ride the rides. We've done it where DH rides Splash, and I take dd on Pooh, then I ride Splash and dd gets another turn on Pooh... she's thrilled, we're thrilled... lol

hubby and I are going with our daughter and not quite 3 year old grandson. So say hubby and I ride splash while daughter waits with grandson, then when we come out, can one of us go with daughter while the other waits with grandson, or does she then have to ride alone while both of us wait with grandson? thanks in advance! :)

We found this week that single rider is better than FP for rides that have it. For rides that DW and I want to ride but DD can't or doesn't want to like Indy, splash, or GRR in DCA we started doing single rider. Indy this morning had a 45 min wait and I was able to walk through the exit (after getting my single rider pass from a CM at the front) to the boarding area in less then 10 min and was put on a car almost immediately. Then splash was an hour wait and I was the only one who wanted to ride so again you go through the exit and quickly get to the boarding area. Waited about 5 min before they found me a spot and I was on. FP is great if more than one person in your group wants to ride, but of there are rides that only one person wants to go on or of you have a little one and have to take turns then single rider is the way to go for rides that offer it.

Yes absolutely. My FIL went with us last year and got to ride several rides twice when we did rider swap.

When we did child swap at california screamin' dh went on with three kiddos, came back and I went on with one of those kiddos so I didn't have to ride alone. That was nice.
