K I'm sooo confused with ride swap/child swap?! What is the difference!? Please explain! My understanding is if I go one a ride with my 5yr old, and my husband waits with our 10month old, he gets to ride with my daughter again without waiting? Does this work with fastpass? Say I have a FP for buzzlightyear and I go one with my kid, and nana wants to ride with her after. Can nana get a child swap pass and ride with her right after, even if she doesn't have a fastpass but my daughter and I did? And what's the deal with me wanting to go on say, tower of terror, but my kid is too young to ride, so my husband and I have to each go solo. So we get a riders swap and I go while he waits with kids, then when I'm done, he goes without waiting inline? I'm soo confused! Help!

You all need a FP+ to ride with child swap. You all go to the FP+ gate and the parent who doesn't ride receives a ticket. When the other parent comes back from the ride, the riding kid and the waiting parent go in the FP+ lane to ride again. We did it for most attractions and enjoyed it a lot.

There have been conflicting reports as to whether everyone needs a fp+ or not to use rs. I've seen others say that they did not all need to have a fp+ to use it, that just the group that was riding first (without the rs pass) needed fp+ if they were going through the fp+ line.

If you have a FP for an attraction, both parents (or grandparent) go to the cast member at the FP line and ask for a Ride swap pass. Once the first parent has gone on the ride the ticket is handed to the waiting parent who then can go through the FP line. I'm not sure what the story is with rides you don't have a FP for. I feel like we have done this before and they let the parent who waited and had the ride swap pass go through the FP line (after the first parent waited in the regular line) but I could be remembering that wrong. Of course now the FP system has been revamped so I have no idea what the policy is on that now. I would just go ask the cast member at the first ride you come to, they'll set you straight :teeth:

You don't need a child swap for Buzz. Everyone can ride it. Even the 10 month old. There is no height restriction.

It was just an example of a ride, I was not specifically asking about that ride haha! I'm aware that rides with no height restrictions all ages can ride!

Child swap and rider swap are the same thing. They will only issue them on rides with height restrictions. You can use FP+ in connection with child swap - only those riding first will need the FP+.
