Child Swap for Older Children?

Are you allowed to do a child swap on a ride if the child meets the height eligibility requirements, but simply doesn't want to ride? Or, do you simply have to handle this as best you can through fastpass? I'm thinking of rides like Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, etc.

My experience was even if the kid just didn't want to ride. My niece was with us (10 and 57" so over all requirements) and she didn't want to do R&R, ToT again (she did it once) and a few others. I told them when I was going through the que (but wasn't using FP already) and they simply gave me a FP to pass off to my mother when I got off so she wouldn't have to wait.

we've even done the child swap with *adults* that don't wish to ride! not a problem at all

Actually, my experience is quite different from the other posters.

I have a very timid 6 1/2 year old and at every single ride she was tall enough to ride but didn't want to they would measure her and then tell me that since she is tall enough to ride, they do not issue the 'special' child swap Fastpass that they normally do for those who do not meet the height requirement but that we all had to enter the line together and then we could swap at the ride itself. This happened at ToT, Splash, Thunder and Space.

So, instead, what we do is get 4 Fastpasses for those rides and we just take turns with our older DD. DH rides with her and then I do. Works great!

Child swap passes are really meant for those who do NOT meet the height requirements. My advice is to ask each CM at the entrance to each ride you want to swap at and see how they handle it.

I don't know which rides have them, but don't forget about the single rider line. It's often shorter than the FP line. Three of us got into the single rider in DCA for Screamin and though we didn't sit together, we all got on at the same time.
