This is the first time that we will have to do the child swap....so I don't know everything about it...does everyone wait int he line and then one parent goes on while the other stays with the kids, where does the other parent and kids wait? Also do you have to wait in the stand by line to do the child swap, or can you do fast pass at the same time?

You can do it either way, stand by or fast pass. Just as an example, the last time we went to MGM, my husband and son got in the stand by line (25 minute wait) and I got a baby swap pass. I took other ds and we went to see Voyage of the little mermaid. Came back, met up with dh and ds to swap. With the fast pass, you don't really need a baby swap pass as long as one person doesn't mind riding by themselves. However, if you have both a fast pass and the baby swap pass, the child who is riding gets to ride twice! Baby swap pass is good for up to 3 people.

When we went in September, we went up to the attendant, told him/her that we needed to child swap, and he gave us 3 tickets.(they looked like fastpasses) Then the first group went and rode the ride and when they came back, the second group went in through the fastpass line with the tickets that the attendant gave us.

We swapped a lot in Feb. The cool thing was that one of us could do the ride using the standby line (if it was a short line), and then the other was given the Rider Switch pass to use in the FP line. So, we didn't have to get a FP (which would prevent us from getting a FP for something else...) If we had FP's, we would just take turns waiting outside the attraction with the kids.

Just tell the first CM you see at the attraction that you want to swap, and they'll tell you what to do. All the CM's were very nice and helpful about it. :)

baby swap pass is news to me...
Last trip, we did use child swap several times...
Maybe because we go in the off season, there is not a need to do the whole the whole actual ticket giving out etc... but we were there in sept...
we told each cm we saw that we would be child swapping..
most of the time, when we got to the front of the line, they had the one waiting with the kids step aside and wait, while the other parent rode, when they got back, the waiting parent rode and usually they let our oldest go on again with the 2nd parent if he wanted to...
We were never given an actual ticket or anything, and never had to go get in the fast pass line... is this something new?
