Child only likes to sleep on the floor, not bed

DD (5) is always sleeping on the floor. I guess when she is ready she will climb back into bed.

Hmm....I'm moving Miss Maddy into a "big girl bed" tonight...I wonder if she'll be a floor sleeper!

My oldest daughter at the same age would only sleep on the floor of the guest bedroom closet.
He she was sleeping, that was fine with me, she is now 8 and only sleeps in her bed.

My child still hasn't gone through this stage cause she is sleeping in our bed, but I'm sure he'll grow out of it one day. People in Japanese sleep on the floor with their futons, so I don't see this as a problem.

My sisters kids 3 & 6 sleep on the floor. After the crib, they went to the floor. Will not sleep in a bed. Since she works full time, her thought is as long as they are asleep fine. Of course, her MIL wants to turn her in for being an unfit mother

Ended up putting the matress on the floor for one daughter because of this. She still sleeps in weird places at times and she is 25. That girl can curl up with a blanket and pillow in a corner and be happy.
We all slept on futons for many years and had no problems. I slept on one for 4 of the first 6 years of my life living in Japan.

My sons, teen & almost teen like to do this in the summer. Some nights I think it's just cooler, esp. the older one because the ceiling fan doesn't blow onto his bottom bunk. Occasionally, they'll do it on the weekend too but it's forbidden on school nights. I want to make sure they are getting a good night sleep. It's a great way to get them to keep their floor clean!
