We are going in Sept with our 2 & 1 yr olds.

I was thinking of getting some sort of bracelet to put my cell phone # on (heaven forbid they got lost), but having dealt with many lost children, I know it can happen.

Any suggestions, ideas, links, experience?

This is a common topic here. I think a bracelet is great. Writing the info on a tag inside their shirt as well has been mentioned here. The 1 thing that's usually said as well is not to write their names in common viewing. This would give any ill meaning stranger an up. Letting them call your child by their name. It is so hard w/ kids that small. Personally I think the bracelet w/ your info (not theirs) would be great. The 1 year old may not know enought to give a CM a slip of paper w/ the info.

Walmarts and such have machines where you make small tags instantly (similar to a dog ID) for any use. They are not expensive. You can put name, cell numbers, etc on it.

We put them on the bottom cross of the shoelace on our little ones shoes. Noticable to others but not removable by child. They almost thought the little decor was neat. There are different shapes and colors, let them pick their own !

I think the idea of a tag on the child's shoe is perfect. I would think a CM would not want to undress a child--even to remove or look under a shirt.

Check out this website - WhosShoesID.com. I think these would be GREAT for your children or any young children for that matter. Our Elementary school was going to do these as fundrasier, and I have often suggested them to many of my friends.

I just received my niece's and nephew's ID wrist wraps, they come with waterproof inserts to put your cellphone no. on and its on the inside of the wrap. There are 2 colors, pink and blue and I already showed them what to do and they were fine with it. It reads "ID Inside" so any CM that finds them knows to look at the wrist wrap if the child is too upset to remember. They were $7.99 on this site: www.childsid.com The kids are 4 and 7. HTH
