My Dh and I are thinking of having one child free meal (we are staying from Aug 21-30 POFQ with our 2 DD's ages 7 & 5). We are not sure whether to book an in room sitter or to use one of the kid's clubs (our girls seem more keen on the kids clubs than the sitter), can you use a resort's kids club if you are eating there or do you have to be a resort member? If you can use a kids club, do you have to book that ahead (before we leave), once we get there or do they accept walk ins?? Any thoughts??

Also any suggestions for a nice dinner (I don't think we'll have enough dining credits to eat at a Signature restaurant). :love2: :lovestruc

I would definitely choose the kid's clubs over a private sitter. These clubs are my 2 boy's favorite thing to do on the whole trip. You do not have to be staying at the resort to book the ressie, but you do need to be staying at a WDW resort (I think). Also, if you want my opinion, the Neverland Club is the best at the Polynesian. It is Peter Pan themed and my kids adore it!! They serve dinner at snack at 10:00 and have tons of activities. They do make you secure the ressie with a credit card. Be quick, they fill up fast! I would recomend LeCellier or Yachtsman Steak house. Have fun!!

since the child care club includes dinner for your 2 girls, you could use the extra TS for a special meal :cool1:

Our DD used Neverland Club twice when she was young. We were staying on property, but not at the Poly, and it wasn't a problem. Remember to add in your travel time since you can't travel directly from resort to resort on WDW transportation. I think it's a better option than a one-on-one sitter you don't know. Our daughter (an only child) enjoyed playing with the other kids after too much parent only time!

My kids love the kids clubs. They beg to go at least once during each trip, dinner alone with DH, who could argue. My kids favorites have been The Sandcastle Club at BC, the Neverland Club at the Poly, and Simba's at AKL.

I don't know how the dining plan works as I've never used it, so I can't give any advice on where to use the credits. But I do think it would be easier for you to eat dinner at the resort where your kids are.

We generally eat dinner around 6pm and drop the kids off about 5:30pm. They are then served dinner at 6pm. You choose off a menu of kids food items, only place different is Neverland, where they have a child's size buffet. I usually don't make a reservation (but it is probably a good idea) because many times we change our plans as to what we are doing. It seems if you get there early, it isn't too busy.

If you are looking for someplace different to dine. My suggestion would be AKL. Drop the kids off at Simba's, then have dinner at Boma's. After dinner, pick up the kids and walk around the resort and look at the animals.

The only kids club that won't take guests from other WDW resorts is the GF.

Neverland is generally the favorite. How about using that one and having dinner at the Kona Cafe?

Definitely book ahead. While they will take walk-in's, it's only when there is space, and many run at capacity most nights.

My girls loved the neverland club at the Polynesian at that age, I felt that they were very safe there, and we got to enjoy a really nice night out without worrying about them. It is expensive, but was worth it. My older is now 10 and does not want to go anymore....... I guess she is stuck with us every night!

Another vote for kids club. When DS was 4 he loved the Neverland club.
