child age for when they "count" as guest in a room?

You know, isn't there are age where they become "counted", I though 3 or are they counted all along? I am talking for example, a value is limited to 4, if there are 2 adults and kids 3, 6 and 12... is that 5 people to Disney or does the 3 year old fall under that guideline of under____ ? TIA

I am looking at rates for a friend and I am not sure if the child is 3 by then or not? So does it change if they are, or if they are still 2? Can't ask, she is unavailable right now.

Children under 3 do not count in the total number of people. For example, last year it was me, DH, DMIL, DS4 and DD1 and we were able to stay at CSR because they only counted us as 4 people total.

In the example you gave, they would count that as 5 people so a regular value room would not be an option. Hope that helps!

right, unless that child isn't 3 by then, but is still 2?

If the child is still 2, then they won't be counted in the total.

They only "count" when they turn 3.

If the child turns 3 during the trip, they won't be counted since they arrived when they were 2.

Does more than 1 child under 3yo count? Next summer I'm planning to go to WDW with my SIL and if we share a room at a deluxe we're fine (me, SIL, 2 kids over 3yo and 2 kids under 3yo), but MIL may want to come along. If she does and neither kid counts, we're okay. But if they only allow one child under 3yo then we'd need a 2nd room. I'm tempted just to say that anyway cause I think we'll all be too crowded, but they seem to think it would be more fun that way.

As long as you don't max out the occupancy, you're fine. I know someone who was 3 adults, a 2 year old and an infant at Pop. When they tried to add a 4th adult, Disney said they were already at the max, even though two of the people in the room were under 3.

Disney does not provide bedding for that 2 year old toddler. (No roll-away beds). It is assumed that they will sleep in a pack-n-play - you bring one or pay Disney for one.
We did five in a room a few years ago with my 33 month old son being the fifth, and he was cool about sleeping in the pack-n-play - he climbed in and out of it as he saw fit it was just a spot to sleep. But if your toddler is going through a phase of refusing all things "babyish", those full size beds do not hold an extra toddler in them very easily.

And, digressing even further, Mousekeeping changed his pack-n-play sheet just like the beds, and left a towel animal for him!

Yes, they do. Only ONE child under the age of three does not count towards room occupancy.

Thanks for the correction. I think we paid for the fridge then (Value Resort). I remember adding something to the bill, guess I thought it was both.

Yep, fridges aren't free at certain resorts so I bet that was it. The pack n play is free though.
