I need your expert advice. I booked a dinner with chief Gordon for four people n Nov. We I call to make the final arrangements I don't want to sound stupid so I'm asking the experts! First does the price of fifty dollars include the wine? Also does everyone in the party have to have the same food? And what is the tipping situation?
Thank you for your help

Wine is included with the dinner. Gordon is great about working with you on the menu and your guests may order what they wish (keep in mind that Gordon does need advance notice though).

Whenever I have tried to add a gratuity, Gordon has gracefully declined.

A Private Affair is a wonderful event.

Enjoy!

Chef Gordon is a HH CM. He is part of the recreation staff, but is a trained Chef. He offers a number of programs at the resort based around culinary arts. Wine Tasting, appetizer preparation (among others) and the best is A Private Affair. It is a private dining event where he will prepare and serve a gourmet meal for you and your guests. Cost is $150 for up to three and $50 for each additional guest beyond the firsrt three. He will give you a choice of appetizers, entree and dessert and he suggests a wine pairing with each course. The offered menu is typical "low-country" cuisine from the HH area, but he will prepare anything you'd enjoy.

The event used to be held in one of the GV's but is now offered at Signals at the Beach House.

It is not available every night and only has one seating when it is offered. Advance reservations are advised. You can call the resort to make arrangements and Gordon also may be contacted by email (I don't have that available right now). As of early July, he was already booked thru most of November.

Gordon is also part of this year's F&W Fesitval at Epcot and will be doing presentations in October, I believe.

It's a great program- well worth the advance planning and cost.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Doc. Will he be available for those special events at WDW in October

Doc or anyone else...
Have you ever asked Chef Gordon for your leftovers at A Private Affair? I could not eat much of my meal after the crabcake and felt bad leaving it behind. His meal was fabulous and it would have been really good the next afternoon!

could someone post the Chef's email address and phone number? Thanks

The resort phone number is 1-843-341-4100. You can call and ask to be transferred to Gordon's office to leave a voicemail.

His email address is HHIChef@aol.com .

I have not done that personally (charter member of the "clean plate" club), but I'm sure Gordon would be happy to box up any leftover delicasies!

Enjoy!
