Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Hi Chris! Come back at least to see us! We don't talk about WDW all that often, it's usually important stuff, like the weather. By the way, it's very windy this morning.

Good morning to everyone else. I slept until about 8:45 this morning. Not bad for a Saturday. I could have slept longer but I was worried that the electricity would go out with all this wind. I had to at least get my coffee brewed!

Good Monday Morning. :headache:

Yesterday we went to a Mardi Gras Parade. The kids caught lots of beads and other junk we don't need. :rotfl:

I started packing the kids yesterday. Kendall is done and Colin is almost there. I think I'll start deciding what I'm going to pack today.

Good morning all! :hippie:
Hope everone had a great weekend.

Mornin' girls!
Yes, Muffy, I did have a great weekend. Thanks for inquiring! I hope yours was delightful as well.
Oh, Tricia. I'm so excited for you. :goodvibes I hope you and your family have the best time ever! You simply must give us a trip report when you get back. Just an informal one will do. Lots of pics! In fact, show us a pic of you and the kids in front of the castle! And at a parade! And at your fave ride! And trying on silly hats! And enjoying a sinful desert! And I'll just keep telling myself 16 more months 16 more months 16 more months. :headache:
Don't forget to pack scissors. You never know when you'll need scissors! And hats. For the days when you just don't want to bother with your hair--and days when you might end up at Kali River! And lots of Advil!!!

Good morning!

Can I come with you Tricia? I'm ready for a vacation. Arkie's right about the scissors. I always need scissors.

Have a good day everyone!

Thanks for the advice on the scissors. I'll throw one of those little ones in with my makeup. Now tape I already packed. Why you ask? I have no idea but just in case I'll have some.

Good Morning. Yea it's Tuesday.........once day closer. :goodvibes

I went to a parade last night. It was rather chilly out but the kids had a good time. We were home by 8:00 so it wasn't even a late night. We caught it right at the beginning so we could we home before bedtime.

TTFN.

Good Morning! Thanks for the PM letting me know to find this place, MuffyCat.

FYI, you probably won't be seeing me a lot on the DIS over the next little bit. Things are weird IRL and I'm not going to be posting much from work in any personal form/forum, for my own protection. But I'm off (I have a doctor appointment later) so today I'm a free-range rooster.

uh-oh goofydad, hope you are doing alright!!

Tricia, how exciting for you!!!!! I can't believe you are going SO SOON!

I'm doing OK, actually. Just gotta see what the next few months are like.

I wish I was going to DisneyWorld soon. sniff

Hey everyone!

I'm sorry to hear you are having troubles GD. Glad you can check in today. It's supposed to be sunny and clear today! First day without rain in over a week. :yay: It's still cold though.

I heard you (well, your region) were getting a buttload of rain over the weekend! Are things drying out? Any flooding / landslides in your neck of the woods?

I woke up at about 1:00 with a backache. I didn't sleep at all from then, and finally got smart and took a pain pill about 7:30 (after I took the kids to school). I slept most of the morning. Emails a piling up, but I think today will be a 'me' day...

For the record, a 'me' day consists of: A doctor appointment later, and MAYBE getting the brake pads and a couple of tires put on our station wagon this afternoon, if I have time. Yippee!!! At least I got to sleep in this morning.

I need a "me" day pretty soon too. I'm sorry you've got back problems and hope that Dr. can fix everything.

As for the weather out here, we needed the rain so much but we didn't quite need it all at one time. Fortunately there haven't been any landslides. There have been a lot of accidents though and there were problems with black ice this morning. It's nice to have blue sky out there though. :)

Have a good ME day!!!

I also just might get a little crazy and walk around Target a bit!!!

You have black ice there too? A week ago (last Tuesday) was just nuts. All night Monday the weather hung around high-20s/low-30s. We got up, no rain in our little valley. Got the kids to school no problem, dry (but a bit foggy). We got over the ridge to head north towards Knoxville and the rain hit with a vengeance. The temps were low enough and the ground was cold enough that everything started freezing, just before rush hour. There were 500 accidents in the city limits that morning (2 deaths in all those accidents). Very few roads were salted, as the-powers-that-be panicked the week before during a cold snap, salted the roads to no effect; and didn't have enough in reserve. Our trusty Subaru did great. We passed probably two dozen accidents (none serious), and it took an extra hour to get to work that morning. Our kids were so bummed as EVERY SINGLE COUNTY around us closed schools that day, but ours (our kids did get out an hour early).

The moral of the story: Black Ice is not fun. Doesn't even taste very good.

We don't get black ice too often but we aren't prepared when we do. What is this salt that you speak of? I've never known them to salt the roads around here.

hahaha if you go to TARGET be careful, that place is intoxicating! I swear I go there for toilet paper and leave 200$ later!

I feel the same way Michelle. I have to be very prepared to go to Target. Prepared with money that is. Fortunately the closest one is a 25 minute drive from home and it's even farther from where I work. I would be in trouble if I could go more regularly.

I also just might get a little crazy and walk around Target a bit!!!

GD it's so good to hear from you. I love that you like Target too. :thumbsup2 That's one store I need to stay out of but something keeps drawing me back. How'd the Dr.s appt. go? I hope you are feeling better soon.
