My son has Chicken Pox and he was vaccinated! Now he's out of school for the rest of the week at least. Anyone else out there have children with CP now? It is going around our school.

I'm no expert but I think chicken pox is always going around.

If your DS was vaccinated and has it, it should be a mild case.

Hope he feels better soon :sunny:

My DS5 has them right now and he also had the vaccine. The child of my sister's boss has a classmate who recieved the vaccine and had chicken pox twice. That was a little hard to follow, but you catch my drift? ;)

We are so fortunate that they are here before the holidays and our trip at the end of the month. He's been a real trooper.

Hope he (ETA: your son) is feeling tip top very soon.

It is interesting. He is a little itchy today but otherwise feels great. No fever or anything. I did just give him some Clariton and now he is soaking in an oatmeal bath. He feels really great considering.

Wow, what a timely thread! I was just wondering this morning if Chicken Pox was still around. I've been waiting since DD9 was in Kindergarten for her to come home with them. And in all these years, she's never had any kid in her class miss school with them, so I was thinking they had become extinct as a childhood disease. So now I can continue to worry that any day she will come home with a blister and scratch scars all over her body :teeth:
Because DD is very stubborn and never does anything she is told to do. She has grown up allergic to mosquito bites and has plenty of scars from scratching them, no matter how much medicine the docs have pumped into her!

I had the shot, got them on my back, doctors lost shot record, couldnt get into grade school in hawaii, got blood tested. Well..Thats my story with the chicken pox. I currently have a really bad eye infection. :(
Hope your son gets better

I have never had them and never got a vaccine for them. I suppose I should do something about that.... hmmmm

Chicken Pox can be gotten at any time but the big months are November and April. My kids had them in November many years ago :)
