Mine isn't so much a recipe as a "plan". I bought a chicken fried rice skillet meal in the frozen foods dept and decided that I could make my own cheaper. I made a large batch of brown rice (that is what we like, but you could use white), used leftover grilled boneless pork (DS is allergic to chicken so I substitute white meat pork in many recipes), and bought two packets of frozen veggies.... one was peppers, onions, and snowpeas, the other was broccoli and waterchestnuts. I froze a portion of rice, a portion of pork, and a portion of each frozen veggie.... each food item in its own ziptop bag and then all of the smaller bags in a large bag. I made a few batches at once.
I also bought a honey teriyaki marinade/sauce (bottled).
When I am ready to cook I start by heating through the rice and veggies and meat. I kind of just toss them into a large pan (I use a paella pan with a lid), heat on medium, stirring frequently. I leave the lid off if there seems to be a lot of moisture that needs to evaporate. When it is heated through I add a few dollops of the teriyaki sauce to sweeten it up and flavor it up. You could also add a scrambled egg and frozen peas.... I would but the kids don't like peas.
This is not a fancy meal and it doesn't really taste like from the restaurant, but neither did the store-bought frozen skillet meal. But it is tasty and healthy and I can control the amount of fat, etc that we consume. I use lots of rice and veggies and a smaller portion of meat to control the price as well.
