Hi everyone, my name is mgsquared and I am a chicken when it comes to roller coasters and anything with drops!! Makes me feel all squeamish and sick. The older I get the worse it gets.

DH on the other hand is an adrenaline junkie! He hates to have to go on so many rides alone.

Is there always a chicken exit and can I make all the fast passes for both of us, walk through the line with him, and then say see ya at the last minute? Would the CM's mind?

Thank you in advance!

Can't really answer your question, but have you tried dramamine? I am the same way, but when I take dramamine I loooove those rides! :)

Pretty sure that's not a problem. As with the child switch option the cast members will be used to guests not wanting to ride who have queued up. It can involve you having to climb over the ride seats (Splash Mountain) or they may have a stealthy exit you can't see (as they do in the Haunted Mansion).

Some rides such as Space Mountain I'm not sure about as you exit from a different platform but I'm sure the CMs will sort you out.

Seriously?!There are meds for this?! :rotfl2: I am googling this now. OMG.

Yep haha, it pretty much levels out the fluids in your stomach to make you not feel sick. You can still feel butterflies on some rides but not nearly as bad.

I had the worst stomach sinking, dizzinous feeling I've ever had on a snorkel boat in Hawaii. I wasn't nauseous at least. It felt like my fight or flight instincts kicking in, kind of panicky. I rarely if ever get motion sickness. In fact I like to do autoracing. But that day was bad. When they passed around the drinks, I had I one. Man, I felt a ton better afterwards. I just had one though. Won't work at MK, but the other places have stuff. Don't do this if you feel nauseous. Good luck.

One thing about the pre-ride exits. Some of them, I think splash is this way. You have to move all the way through the ride vehicle for some people even this is too much. Up to you you can always ask the CM at the queue head, how the exit works.

As mesaboy pointed out, there are chicken exits for every attraction and the CMs will be happy to show you the way out. Some of the best queues are on thrill rides. I just can't ride EE or ToT, but love exploring everything in the queues.

As for medications - if the problem is motion sickness then Dramamine or Dramamine nondrowsy might help. This may not be available in Austria but is an over the counter drug found at any pharmacy in the States. If the problem is fear or anxiety, then best to just stick with the chicken exit on these few rides and enjoy the exit gift shops while your DH rides.

From what my guidebook says, there is always a chicken exit and nobody will be forced to ride if they are uncomfortable!

I did not want to go on Tower of Terror. I'd been on it before and it scares me too much. My sister made me go with her again. When we got to the loading dock, I started shaking and freaking out. A "bellhop" came up to me and told me that if I reaaaaaally wanted to, I could take the "chicken elevator" out instead of riding. I considered it for half a second while my sister pulled me onto the ride. And I ended up wrestling a scarce handbar away from an old lady on the ride and screamed louder than the six year olds who were also on the ride.

I really hate ToT. I do not want to ride a third time!!!!

There is always a chick exit for the rides. What is kinda irritating is some of the queues are so beautiful that you may want to see them but not ride them, and now with FP+ I'm not too sure how you can do that. Before, I just got a FP and stood in line till the exit (like with ToT, I LOVE the queue!). But now with FP+, I may have to waste a FP+ booking to wait in the queue line with my friends. (I would give my paper pass to someone in the old FP days). So, not too sure how the CMs handle this now. It's probably on an individual basis - ask a CM and explain it. My favorite queues are ToT, Dinosaur, R&R coaster, EE, and Star Wars. Things like Soarin' and Splash you should just make plans on where to meet with your family. Like at Soarin, just go and get some lunch at the cafe in a pavilion there. The queue is really nothing special. Space Mountain? If I'm not planning to ride it, I'd rather be in Cosmic Rays getting a sandwich and a soda! Or a Mickey Bar!! And chick elevator at ToT is just a regular elevator. No worries about that one! :)

I know at Universal, they will let you take the "Hogwarts Tour" so you can see the beautiful queue but not ride it. Also - big props for Universal having the baby swap room at the Hogwarts ride right next to the exit of the ride, plus they have a changing table there AND have the HP movies playing on a tv. How awesome of a swap is that?!?!:thumbsup2

I can't speak for all of them, but I know for sure that RnR, ToT do for sure. EE when you get to the front of the line I feel like they could send you back through the single rider if there wasn't a way to the exit.

And if you're making fast passes the other thing you can do is have him go through the line with his fast pass while you wait in the gift shop, then he can use your band and get to ride the ride twice.

Also single rider lines (RnR, EE) will become your best friend, I usually wait with my friends that ride RnR in the single rider line then peace out to the exit since I won't ride it lol

Yep, there are always exits.

All of the Universal swap areas are inside the rides. Everyone is allowed inside the queues at Universal. Unless you have a kid who doesn't like some of the lines because they are spooky, or who will flip out to not be able to ride, it's pretty neat.

You could talk to your doctor about motion sickness medication (the drug names will be different in different countries). Just remember that all medications have a variety of effects; some are the ones we want, some are ones we don't wait. Medications don't work the same for everyone; some people get sicker with dramamine, some are helped, etc.

I find that if I inhale while on the flat/up parts of coasters and then slowly and with control exhale on the drops (TOT, too), my stomach doesn't have that horrible feeling. I can enjoy rides a LOT more ever since I noticed how well that worked.

You guys are awesome! Thank you so much!
There are quite a few lines I really want to see for the story and details (everest, ToT, etc.) and I'm so happy to hear I can. :thumbsup2

I don't mind jumping over the cars or anything. I just don't want to ride it! DH and I are looking forward to lots of couple time together and it sucks to regularly be apart for 30 min while he rides something.

The chicken exit on ToT is actually a fun experience in itself if you get the right CM. you will get some very comical commentary from his as you load.

Yea I always thought someone in imagineering had a very twisted sense of humor.

Oh let's put an elevator in for the exit of tot.

Yes I'm sure there is a good reason for it. But it still seems twisted.
