I am not interested in riding wilder rides like ToT, Space Mountain or Expedition Everest (Splash Mountain and BTMRailroad are fine). Which of the wilder rides have places where I can make a last-minute exit if I want to stay with my party up until they get on the ride?

they all do. although space mountain is a long walk with a non-impressive queue in my opinion. or i should say i don't think that one is worth it.

Every single ride at Disney World, wild or tame, thrill or not, has an out if you or anyone in your party decides not to ride at the last minute. If you don't see an exit clearly marked, just wait until your part is at the seater right before you board the ride and tell them that you want to leave. Disney doesn't let anyone ride if they don't want to. You can even to this on Tommorowland Transit Authority if you want.

As the others mentioned, you can exit any of the rides without riding.

However, your impression of which rides are "wildest" is a little bit off. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is much "worse" than Expedition Everest or ToT. Expedition Everest is one of the smoothest roller coaters you can ride anywhere, and its biggest drop isn't as frightening as the big drop on Splash Mountain (despite being somewhat longer). In any case, Big Thunder will 'beat you up' more than EE, and in my experience, is more likely to induce motion sickness than EE.

ToT is one of those that's hard to convince people is pretty tame, due to the name and theming. But it really isn't the wild ride people think it is. It's the tamest of the freefall-style rides I've ever ridden, and most people I've spoken to about it agree that the actual ride is nowhere near as physically intense as they expected it to be.

Good luck, and have fun on your trip.

I've learned from these boards that people have very differing ideas about what "rough" means. For me, I don't mind being jostled around (love Dinosaur) and am not prone to motion sickness, BUT I do not want to be dropped at all - whether it's a free fall style ride or a roller coaster with a big dip. So, I would consider BTMR but would be terrified of even the idea of EE or even Splash Mountain. Just a phobia thing, I guess. Not proud of it, that's for sure.

I will add though, that BTM and EE for me are a LOT easier on my back for me than ToT. That one will make me hurt fairly quickly if I am having a bad day.

So just because something feels tame doesn't mean it is physically tame. Also the going up causes people to feel bad more than the drop itself ;)

Not saying you are wrong, but just giving a different perspective. As one with a bad back, the worst possible for me is Space Mt followed by ToT and tied with Primeval Whirl

They all do. As previusly said, I would skip Space Mountain. Very bland que. I am a self proclaimed chicken, but I love BTMRR and Everest. It took me 12 YEARS to get the courage to ride ToT, and my reaction was "I was afraid of THAT?" I also HATE that stomach drop feeling and I have a bad back. Dino and Space bother my back, but nothing else does. IMHO, ExE does NOT have the stomach drop feeling--not like Splash--which I detest. Nor does ToT.

Ah, the beautiful Chicken Exit! I was - and still am - petrified to ride ToT but I didn't want to be separated from my party, as that had caused major problems earlier in the trip. As my friends boarded I told the CM I didn't want to ride, and after they were boarded and on their way, he walked me to the elevator and promised me it wouldn't drop. I was close to having a panic attack from the small room prior to entering the main ride room I'd guess you'd call it?, and I'm sure he could see this by my face and body language. Down the elevator I went, and I was right at the exit to meet my friends.

One thing I noticed, however, was that this exit wasn't marked as such (at least I don't remember it being marked, I was a bit preoccupied with calming my anxiety) so definitely ask if you don't see an exit!

I rode it once and will never ride it again. But I know people who love it. But the roller coasters type rides, I can ride all day.

JennyDrake -

You put that perfectly - "stomach drop" feeling! That is the worst sensation for me. I'm assuming that's the same feeling that thrill ride lovers enjoy...

It's hard for me to imagine that EE doesn't cause that feeling. And, I've been afraid that BTMR might cause MANY small stomach drop feelings. I think I can stand that, though, as long as I don't have to dread/endure a big Splash Mountain type one. :scared1:

I don't think they normally mark the chicken exits but if you ask any of the ride CMs they will point you in the right direction.
