I can't find a recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu using a certain kind of ham (don't know the name but very expensive kind) - any help?

Could the ham be

Prosciutto or Westfalian?

Both of those are kind of dried cured I think... not like what we would normally get at the deli...

As far as a recipe... I would think you could use any Cordon Bleu recipe and use whatever ham you want...

I have always made it for my family with normal ham that you would use for a sandwich but a better brand like Boar's Head. I would also use the better imported swiss cheese also.

Yes, any ham can be used. I looked at a large number of recipes for this dish and saw deli ham, sliced ham and proscuitto all listed. Emeril uses the proscuitto in his dish but Tyler Florence as well as many more chefs weren't at all particular. Go for it! :thumbsup2
