The Chicago Tribune travel section had an article about Universal Studios, FL today (3/16/08) and I have to say I was singularly unimpressed. What kind of reviewer skips Spiderman because he thinks it will be too much like a video game? He seemed so uninformed and actually proud of it. Anyway, the link is below.

Thanks for the article and I totally agree with you. Not only does he admit to not riding Spiderman, he doesn't even mention Jurassic Park River Ride, the Poppeye ride, Ripsaw falls or Men-In-Black. I'm thinking he toured both parks in one day and only did rides that had a short wait.

In the middle of page 1 of his article, he says this is the second part of a three-part series. Part 1 was about Disney. Part 3 he says will be about Orlando.

Has anyone had success seeing what this guy had to say about his Disney trip? Might help put this article in perspective. There appears to be a link, but it just takes you to about 1,000 articles. I can't seem to search for it by the March 2 date, either.

Maybe he just skipped POTC or Space Mountain because they seemed like a waste of time and probably duplicates of other rides in the parks.

Well if he doesn't understand the concept of kid areas, thinks coasters are for teens, considers dark rides to be "filler" and skips major attractions because it might be like "video games", he should've stayed home.

Universal, or any theme park, is not for people like that.
