Chicago Hotel help

I have never traveled to Chicago with the entire family so this has never been an issue before. I'm having a difficult time finding a room that will accomodate all of us. If I'm traveling alone (for business) or with DH or one of the kids - some of the places I've stayed at are W Lakeshore, Hotel Sofitel, Amalfi, Hotel Monaco, Courtyard Marriott, Drake, most recent was The Blackstone. I want to stay somewhere nice, pay a decent price but right now I can't even find something that will sleep all 5 of us. Any ideas or suggestions for hotels for 5 in the downtown area?

We have stayed in the Hilton Suites up near the Drake, the Embassy Suites on State St. and the Homewood Suites on Grand (near Nordstrom at North Bridge). All of these are real two room suites with a pull out couch. If you got 2 doubles in the bedroom, they should sleep 5. Good luck. My kids love trips to Chicago.

We stayed at embassy suites (can't remember which location), and it was nice - cook to order breakfast, managers reception, pool. We like to stay at ES when we go out of town.

We stayed at the one on State Street. Reasonably priced (for Chicago) and the kids really liked it. I would certainly go back there again.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have stayed at some Hiltons but usually use Marriott or Starwood first just to get the points. I will look at the Embassy Suites. Thanks!!

We just got back from staying at the Hotel Sax. It was literally across the parking lot from House of Blues. They also had a bowling alley upstairs. We really enjoyed it.

There are a couple of Marriott Residence Inns in Chicago. They have suites that sleep 6.

I liked the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown.... nice rooms, restaurant, business center, pool etc as well.

We stayed at the Allegro hotel on Randolph Street (?). It is in the center of downtown, within walking distance to most attractions, theaters, and close to the the El. It is an older hotel that has been restored and we found it to be beautiful. They have a FREE wine hour about 5pm each night.
