trying to stay optimistic...trying, trying , trying. Knowing Darvish stated himself that he REALLY wanted to stay in L.A. will have me scruitinizing him. Not thrilled that Morrow is our closer(he's fine, just not saveg, KWIM?) but I guess they will have a bond.


For all Yu Harper fan's...yes, this deal still leaves plenty for him (but be careful what you wish for there) That said, there is money to get Holland (Co) now THAT I'm interested in.

Willy loves EVERYBODY Robin, lol. I observe for a while, THEN hug, Willy is the oppo. I saw Willy's tweet, but he is the most welcoming of the team with tweets so.....taking it with a grain of salt. Yu does not have Jakes bat. I will give him discipline at the plate tho (we all saw CJ walk in a run on Darvish) which I'm sure Theo remembers. I don't know...5 (or is it 6?) DL stints, but then again the Dodgers were manipulating that to save their pitching staff~I would love to see Jake pull a Dex and walk back for another year if he doesn't get the deal he is after. Cubs prob just don't want to deal with Bora$$ any more than they have to. So Jake could land anywhere really, but those trying to stay under the cap.
Sepo~ I will try and stay optimistic & would MUCH rather be happy about it but like I said, the dude's under the microscope for now. Jake...hard to live up to. The guy literally propelled the Cubs into the play off team/Champs they are. I am so grateful for getting to see him in his superhuman years. His arm technically has less wear and tear than Yu tho. Whatever the Cubs know about him (or it could be as simple as once Boz was gone, Jake lost complete interest) must be scaring other teams off as well. Now that Theo broke the ice tho, the avalanche of signing's is most likely about to start.

I am honestly keeping a radar up to see if Theo does indeed scoop up Holland.

Yu is probably happy that Yelich is gone from there...seeing as how he homered off of him. Something to keep in mind with the Brewer's tho.

I'm hoping the pitching coach works with him to get rid of his tic that alerted the Astros to his pitch.

I just want Theo to throw an insanely ridiculous bag of $ at Jake so he would take 1 more year. A six man rotation would be wicked savage and it save's Lester and Darvish arms..all the arms making play-offs to have a healthier outcome. Not to mention Tommy would get his buddy back. It also lets Jake have a nice stage of showing he's still got it and he uses less on his arm to do it. Add in keeping Jake off rival teams? LET ME DREAM!(also I could care less about Harper so I'd gladly send some of it Jake's way)

To me it's more of a head games thing on the tipped pitch's and that's what concern's me the most. We saw J. Wilson implode..don't need another. Rumor that the Dodger's limited his arsenal of pitches tho, so hopefully if he has his full ammo to Yus(sorry..gonna be a rough year of puns) hopefully he is more in control overall. Theo wanted Darvish years back, then the Ohtahni(so?) quest came along~ so to me Darvish was Theo's overall preference, even tho I think Jake is the better personality for the team/well oiled machine. Teams did figure Jake out tho , so I do realize that. Gotta keep improving, not settling.

I saw reports too, and no way did they offer him 21, lol. I think he was offered 5 at the same $ as Yu...and Bora$$ blew it for him. Tho like I said, I know Theo prob had a little "the one that got away" happening with Darvish and wasn't going to let that happen again. I still think the Boz firing affected Jake. I think he is pretty particular in a lot of ways and lets face it~ ALL these FA guys are already set, so they can be picky even if it means fading off into their fat-nested sunsets. Given we have 3 years left on cheap contracts while developing home grown pitching, I still think getting Jake for a curtain call doesn't have much of a down side. Even Jake knows it...might lose a little $ in the overall but gets to have a LOT of shining moments in the meantime.
