Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

I heard last night that they xrayed Rizz and the didn't see a break/fracture.

The Yankees are the #1 team in baseball now. Except for Anderson's disastrous first inning on Saturday, we went toe to toe with them and played at their level (or they at ours ). Yes, they swept us but it wasn't easy and we put up quite a fight.

Glad to hear there's not a break. I bet it's hurting something awful this morning. I wonder if he'll start to night.

If we're going to lose at least make the other team have to really work for the W. At least that's how I feel.

Hoping for hot bats and stellar defense tonight.

He had full rotation so yeah, no break but it's not good. When he hit the double his face was in agony.You know he was in the dugout like, "Kris, just KBomb one so I don't have to bat" right before he hit it. Leaving him on 3rd was just as brutal My guess KB playing first with LaStella on 3rd tonight. Agreed we held our own and then some. However we are now depleted and 6 more rough games in a row, well, Thurs off for travel. We had opportunities..and Lester was fantastic. I fell terrible he didn't get the W. 120 pitches? Jake going to have to be the same caliber as that tonight. One of my highlights of the series? ALL everyone was talking about was Aaron Judge....can you say DENIED?!?!?!? Big deal he pops that triple ..he wanted the HR~Not this trip! I will credit NY with the double bunt. Saw Willy was stunned after the error and went right for the repeat. Catching basically a doubleheader brutal. Javy in the 9 spot working extremely well...when Joe moved him to 7 yesterday his results were not a good. I am really loving his at bats . and Gotta run but here's hoping somehow, this team gets some rest~bull pen brought it again...(and yes, someone will blast Grimm) and hope JHey knuckle ok as well...seeing 3 pitchers bat and not him tells you it is a bit more than a scratch.

I sincerely hope so too, but I'm not holding my breath. Between last night's mentally and physically exhausting game, the middle of the night get-away, the change in time zone and the difference in altitude I'm not expecting much. I think it'll be a "Try Not To Suck" kind of game.

I expect Javy to be out as well resting his foot..so figure to see Zobie paying 2nd and hopefully JHey is back for RF. Miggy and Jake good together, but no heroic's needed this series. Keep the injuries away, play smart ball and regroup. Not sure if anyone caught a plane from Iowa last night but I hope they have an arm. Man, I miss Szczur even more now. Maybe offense can get something going at Coors field for their own confidence.....any batter who is in a slump has gotta love it there. I am thrilled with the moral victory for the guys last night(Rizzo injury aside) NYY was absolutely stunned we tied it against Chapman, lol. Contrary to what some think, Chappie wasn't the only reason we won game's 5,6, & 7. I think only NY fans wanted NY to win it at that point..anyone I have heard from was puling for the Cub's..even Sox fan's I spoke to this morning.
I was glad I didn't open up this page to bashing and complaints this morning, thank you, but hear me now..if ANYONE rags about who did what wrong in the NYY series without also acknowledging how we fought back hard, please do it in a pm to others or block me , just sayin'. A pat on the back to all who endured 18 innings of ESPN announcers. WHY were we subjected to Holliday's kids instead of the game? Joe's RV is cool...but I want the game. I was listening to Pat and Ron, (who were terrific) and when the fan's were giving Joe West a "special" chant..Coomer lost it lol....omg I was dying.

well my cable is out for tv, says "across Illinois" (I have Wide Open West)..still have internet..so pretttttty bummed at the moment. If the game was cancelled my plan was DWTS for Rossy.

Thank you for supporting this amazing place. My daughter is doing well and has a great prognosis. She's almost 3.5 years out AND she graduates from college this Saturday. We are blessed.

I can't believe the crappy player we got for him. A 27 year old minor leaguer who has been in the SD farm system for since 2011. Matt is worth 3 of him! There must be some reason we made such an aweful trade but I don't have any clue what it is.

I can't believe the crappy player we got for him. A 27 year old minor leaguer who has been in the SD farm system for since 2011. Matt is worth 3 of him! There must be some reason we made such an aweful trade but I don't have any clue what it is.

I don't know anything about the pitcher we got in return but Matt is hitting .210 this year. He's a career .240 hitter. If that's the kind of production we want, we can easily call someone up from the minors who can give us that and more.
