Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

I'm not a big alcohol drinker, but I might have to send some money to someone to have them get me a bottle.

Same here but I think my hubs might like it. I'm going to see if one of our liquor stores here in town can order it for me. If not we both may have to beg our Illinois friends to help out us poor southern Cubs fans... :hyper2:

Have you all seen this? Just in time for Fathers Day. Or just because...:smooth:

Very cool on the maturation date...I just wish Mila wasn't the spokesperson, lol. I know JB and Wrigley have a thing, but as a Dodger fan, I'm good with her repping stuff for them, not us. :rolleyes1 Guess JB didn't want Bonnie Hunt as their spokewoman ;)
I know Ashton is a huge Bears fan tho...guy roots for the wrong ChiTown team, lol

Exciting game to me tonight...Fenway so much like Wrigley(before all the fancy improvements, lol)! Expecting to see a lot of blue out there tonight! Hope the Boys have fun and we get the W!

How exciting for KB! His first game at Fenway, his first at bat,,KBOOM! Lands on top of the parking structure!oThe estimated 450-foot homer was the 5th longest ever recorded at Fenway during the Statcast era.

I hope somehow that could be given to his Dad.

Then AAJ with his first game/at bat there over the Monster! Jake got the crud knocked out of him but got it together after the first inning. Monty, Pedro, CJ all did REALLY great! Turn the page boys, get 'em tomorrow. Rough night for Chi teams in Boston tonight...hat's off to them, we didn't do out jobs. I will repeat myself again, I am really missing small ball from these guys. Schwarbs basically in his Sophomore year and to me, feels pressure to knock it out every time. Just get 'em on, get 'em moving, get'em home.

Disapppointing loss for sure but we all know that's going to happen sometimes. Missed most of the game (nephew's birthday party at my house) but did see KB's HR on replay.

At least they made them sweat it a little at the end. Here's to winning tomorrow night!

Really disappointed with the Cubs so far this year. The way they're playing, you'd never guess they won the WS last season.

Jake reverted to his old days of playing at Fenway as an Oriole :scared:...kinda. He got it together the very next inning only throwing 6 pitches. However, by that time the dominoes of runs had done their damage. Some sloppy play by us a few games now~but these guys are pro's and will get back on track. the '15 season was one of day- off- itis~ didn't seem to matter who we played if it was after a day off, L. First time in this ballpark for KB, Addie, AAJ, Willy, Schwarber~ I think Javy , Monty , CJ..(wow, that's a lot) They will all have a better feel tomorrow.

Also, Dex coming to life in STL.. We are only a half game up now in first and they are knocking loudly at the door. Of course, getting to play Toronto really helped them out AND they got the Buc's AFTER Starlin's suspension. That guy was tested in Spring Training and the appeal took that long to finalize. Well, our schedule is for sure tough, just gotta come out and play.

Thanks, Fin! He's three. Not a Cubs fan. Yet. :rolleyes1

I can't say I'm disappointed but I did think this might happen. I'm not a baseball guru like Fin (!) but I do know it's not uncommon for the WS champs to not perform at quite the same level the next year.

I think most people - including other teams - were happy for the Cubs. But now they're all gunning for them.

Do I expect them to win every game? Nope. But I do expect them to get back up and give 100% next time. We'll see how that goes tonight.

PERFECT age to start molding him, lol....

Ummmm, I'm no Guru..not even close~ just born into a baseball family (my Dad always coached and then started a Started a Semi Pro team/ scouted for the Phillies a few seasons) Like anything else, once the hunger has been satisfied it's even tougher to recreate. The Dynamic of the team also changed some..these guys are SO young to be in the limelight 24/7 now. That's why having Lester, Lackey, Jay, Riz (but that guy is stretched about as far as a human can be with appearances, charity, endorsements) around huge..to get them to stay focused on the game , get back to the love of the game. Cubs Organization holds these guys to a very high standard off the field as well.
Joe was getting crucified for changing up the batting order before, now people are screaming for him to shake it up again. Huge difference in the pressure of getting on top to STAYING on top.
FYI~ Robin would be the resident Guru :thumbsup2

ETA: I'm not disappointed in the least..but I can say I am wowed by the level of power in the baseball world right now...stats off the charts for hitter's, dynamic out fielding..look's like the World Champion Cub's team set the bar pretty high, lol. I love seeing smart baseball, and strategy. Yes, the Cub's have had a huge target on their backs and have been under the microscope, many other teams emulating them. Smarter comes into play now...along with the We Never Quit

These Cubs players need to realize that they don't get a free pass into the playoffs just because of last season.

Today's line up folks~ Here's hoping Kyle's mojo settles into the lead off again...he just needs to relax , get back to his baseball rat days.
Btw..Wright a knuckleballer..our offense gonna be learning on the job lol. This could be a very interesting game.

FWIW, the Indians are also 12-10. I'm not worried.
