Good morning. I so wanted to sleep in this morning but the dogs had other ideas.

This weekend I have to get outside and rake up my leaves. My tree is one of the last to drop it's leaves it still has quite a few left to drop. At this rate I will be raking into December.

Has anyone started christmas shopping yet? When I was in Target last weekend I saw some people buying decorations :confused3 Also some houses around here are decorated too.

Well I am going to drink some more coffee so I can do the inside stuff before I move to the outside. Later

I almost forgot RatBoy Congrats on being a Mom:cool1:

That story is very cute thanks for sharing. That was really nice of the lady to be so generous with you.:thumbsup2

This is going to be a quick post this morning, because I allowed myself to sleep in today, and I have to get ready for work. We had a fun evening last night. The martini & wine bar in my plaza had it's soft opening last night, and we were invited to come (all the renters in the plaza were). So Kevin, my friend Jennifer (insurance agency) and I went there to check it out - it was nice. Then we went to Pepe's for a very late dinner (8:30pm) and hung out there for awhile - it was nice, and we had some good laughs:laughing: . Then Kevin and I went home, put Stephanie to bed (Kevin's mom already put Katie to bed) and then Kevin and I sat outside in the hot tub for 1 1/2 hours. We didn't get in until 12:30am:eek: We were just talking and talking - something we never have time for anymore. We had a very nice night!!!! :goodvibes

Hi
Back form Detroit.. and working form home today..:surfweb:

Leigh Great Trip Report

DMM glad Roman is back home

paintnolish hope DS is felling better today..

Thanksgiving.. it is so hard to believe it is almost here.. I have DHs family over on Thursday, Friday is black friday shopping, saturday is a friend's oranment and cookie exchange, and then Sunday is my family thanksgiving..

Sorry no DIS meet for us..
Holy Cow - you have a full week of Thanksgiving :) That sounds really nice!! :goodvibes

2sweet, Slo, and geffric- Thanks for the pd. Ds seems better today. He ate some cereal, which kind of scares me. Not what I want to see again. So far, so good. Apparently, his school had almost 50 kids sick yesterday! They are a small grade school of around 200. Yikes! My friend works there and said the kids were dropping like flies. Since some of you read this during bfast, let's just say the janitors were busy.
Ds is staying home today, though, as he was up sick at 4. He is going to his dad's today. I think he just needs to rest and watch t.v.! I am off to work in a bit. I also work tomorrow night. Good tips on a Saturday night! I need them for my Disney and wedding fund! I am off on Sunday, so while df watches football, I might take the kids to see Fred Claus. It looks kind of dumb, but xh already took them to see Bee Movie. Anyone plan on seeinmg Fred?
I'm glad to hear that your DS is feeling better :)
I hope he continues to get better and stronger over the weekend, and is ready to go back to school Monday :wizard:
Thanks so much!
I have been checking weather channel, but I figured you locals could tell me more. We are in the Charlotte area so we have been having mid to upper 50s at day and upper 20s to mid 30s at night. It looks like that may be what we get there. I will pack sweaters and jackets, not heavy coats.
Now, I need to find some good shopping locations so I can occupy myself while DH is at the conference. Any suggestions?
Thanks for coming here for advice - I love it when DISers do that:) !! It makes me feel so good that everyone feels comfortable to come here anytime :goodvibes

To answer your question I, personally, love shopping on State Street. Others will say Michigan Ave, but not me. The Disney Store is on Michigian Ave, and so is Niki Town (very close to each other), but outside of that, I don't shop on Michigian Ave. I hope you have a good time in Chicago :cool1:

Well, I made it on the Moms Panel!!!   :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: In fact I'm the only "Dad" that did.

So, now I will make good on my promise (not really that exciting of a story, hope this doesn't disappoint too much!)...

So, where does the name RatBoy come from?

The username is simply a nickname I had when I worked at a supermarket company in S. Florida many years ago. One of the ladies that worked in a nearby cube was a buyer and always had free food from vendors. She would often share some of it with me (box of frozen buffalo wings, a 25 lb. salmon, etc.) -- sometimes by passing the food through a crack in the cube partitions between our cubes. Others at work thought this looked like I was being fed through a crack in the wall, like a rat, and they started to affectionately call me "RatBoy." As far as nicknames go, I kinda liked it, so I thought I'd use it again here. It has no connection to Disney whatsoever, and I'm soooo glad it didn't hold me back from getting on the Mom's Panel. I even tried to figure out how to change my username when this contest came up, but you can see that I never did figure out if/how I could.

Now I just have to figure out for the Panel is how to handle the fact that I'm a Dad, not a Mom.:lmao:

-Bret / RatBoy
Congratulations!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Thanks for sharing the Ratboy story - it's a good story!!! :thumbsup2

I sorta started shopping for Christmas :santa:
I bought Kevin a couple things from the girls on vacation from MargartitaVille (sp?), and today I'm ordering a couple of ornaments online for Stephanie's teacher, CCD teacher, and bus driver.

Well, I gotta run and jump into the shower
Have a good day today!!

I hope to get some Christmas shopping done while there. I rarely get a chance to shop ALONE, no kids, no hubby. I plan to take full advantage of it while there. I will make a note of this. Do you have individual stores on State Street? Or is there a mall that I should check out?

Morning..

Just a quick stop by between laundry, cleaning and grocery shopping...

I am thinking of getting DH a GPS system .. lots of discounts on Black Friday.. what kind do you have and do you like it???

Good morning :goodvibes It is cold here in Rantoul, well Im getting ready to walk to the library soon to return a book and take out a new one.

Hello everyone!

I never got to the leaves yesterday, so today I must get them done. It should be warmer today.

What is everyone doing? I heard on the news we should have some warmer weather for the early part of this week :thumbsup2 I don't like the frosty mornings.

Slo Sounds like you and Kevin had a good night together. That martini bar sounds fun. They have so many flavors now. I might give them another try,I don't like regular martinis. I never could get past the rubbing alcohol taste. How's the shop going? I hope your girls are doing well too.

Alex is still liking school and homework. He must be from Mars.

Today is a shopping day :teeth:
We are going to the mall to look for Christmas dresses for the girls, stocking stuffers for Stephanie (she's not going to be with us - she's going to a baby shower with my mom), hopefully a couple of Christmas gifts for some family members, a Christmas tree w/ decorations for the store - we have lots of ground to cover :thumbsup2

Thanks!

We did have a nice night, and we covered alot of ground. We discussed everything from what we are doing Thanksgiving all the way up to Christmas Eve:santa: Him and I need to do that more often ::yes::
**The martini bar is very nice, and it'll be interesting to see how busy they will be. It gives this small town, and city feeling :)
**The shop is doing well, but I naturally want to be busier. With Christmas coming, I'm hoping to be so busy, that it's exhausting. I'm really looking forward to my one employee coming home for Thanksgiving so I can have some time to be home with my family a little more.
**The girls are doing very well :cutie: :cutie: They are really looking forward to the holidays :santa: Stephanie just spent alot of time with me at the store, because she had two 1/2 days last week, and that was really nice - I like having the company.
**I'm glad Alex enjoys homework, I wish a certain 9 year old of mine did:rolleyes: What's on him Christmas Wish List?

Well, I gotta go get breakfast going
Have a good day today everyone!!

good morning! Well we are still looking for a car, does anyone know anybody that is selling a car that would allow me to make payments on it? That is our only problem, everybody wants all the money up front and we just can't do that right now. The transmission on our jeep will be alot of money to replace, besides we need a 2nd car.

Anyway its house cleaning day, so much fun!

Morning all. Really quick fly-by. Have to run to work today. Sounds like you all are keeping busy and having fun. I will be so glad when Nutcracker is over. Kellie will also be appearing in Joliet (if the dude calls me back today) as an angel in the Von Heideke production after Thanksgiving. Just one show. This week she has 2 rehearsals and 9 shows.
Well, better run. Grab a bite, and go to work.
DMM hope Roman is recovering nicely.
Paint, hope your DS is well. My kids are back to their old selves. :rolleyes1
Later.

We had such a successful shopping day yesterday - it was awesome!!!! :woohoo: I can home with several Christmas dresses for the girls to try on, Christmas presents for my mom, brother, brother & SIL together, dad, and MIL. We let Katie pick out a present for her sister, which she did, but the minute we got home, she told her what she got :rotfl: I also bought several stocking stuffers for both girls :santa: Oh, and I also bought my Christmas tree w/ decorations for the store - our car was packed to the gills with stuff :teeth:

You know what, I don't know :confused3  Kevin got it for me, and he takes care of everything with it. I'm very technologically challenged, and he just takes over - God bless him!!!! :)

I bet that does keep you very busy!!!!
Stephanie really wanted to be in that too, but there was no way I could get her to the practicies with me working so much. Maybe next year she can be in it

Well, I gotta run - have a good day everyone!!

Morning!

Don't think I posted my MRI results, so here goes. Basically, there is nothing wrong. No tears so no surgery. I do have an injury to the knee cap, but the only thing for that is time. Still can't walk very well, and can not spend a lot of time standing, so I am not sure what I am going to do about work.

Morning all

It was a busy weekend, but fun! The okay news, Roman is still the same, he had his Dr. Visit and Doc wants to keep him inside until his next appt. in December :faint: But that's good for him, I know!

The good news: Sal and I went on a date on Friday! We talked some, but we looved how quiet it was :) Just dinner and some Christmas shopping without little hands pulling stuff into the cart!

The fab news: I have almost sold 100 items out of my shoppe! That's not even including all the custom orders I have been doing!!! I'm so excited about that too!

How is everyone?? Hope you all are doing well.
Sandy, Date nights are fun right??
PigletToo_-> Hope you figure out what to do about work soon!
Amy--> good luck finding a car! I know what you mean about needing 2! I don't think I could survive if we only had the 1! I love my van! It's necessary with the 3 crazies!!

Michelle ~ Date nights are so important, I am glad you two got one. Glad to hear Roman is doing better, it does seem to take a long time to get over RSV though.
I recall with Lauren it was close to a month before she was back to 100%. She was almost 8 months when she got it, and fortunatly was never put in the hospital. However, we were at the doctor's every day and thisclose to admitting her. Poor girl was getting blood draws each time to make sure she was getting enough fluids and staying hydrated. The doctor's thought was if she could stay at home with us, it was better for her emotional health. Gosh, just thinking back to that time makes me sad, and I can only begin to feel the heartache you must have felt.

I'm glad little Roman is holding his own. :goodvibes Hope he continues to improve.

How do his brother and sister like him? Do they think he's fun or are they jealous?

Yay! :cool1: :yay:

I made a little progress toward uploading my pictures. I found some other CDs I've made, so I am caught up with them up until my May trip. So I can get to work on deleting the bad pics now. Hopefully I've already done some of that. Then I need to find my card reader. I called my parents, and it was just what I was afraid of...they don't have it, I do. :rotfl: But while looking for it I did find my jump drive, so that's something. Now if I could just find my card reader and my loafers I'd be all set! :lmao:
