Brrrr......it's brisk outside :cold:
I turned on the furnace this morning to get the chill out of the air.

geffric - I agree with what Bunchkin said about 'Ohanas versus the other places. It is more quiet and laid back, and I do like the food being brought to your table family style. I've never had dinner at Crystal Palace, but now I'm curious after Nicole said that she thinks the food is better than Chef Mickey's (I don't love dinner at Chef Mickeys, but we go for the kids)

Donna - That's great news about Marks sister :woohoo: I'll keep her in my prayers as she starts her treatment.
**I"m glad you had a nice time in Door County :goodvibes
**Thanks for the well wishes for my vacation - we are getting very excited!!! :cool1:

Crissup - Thanks for the tip!!! I like getting good coffee while on vacation (I don't when I'm home - I just brew and go at home), so I will have to check this out. Do they open early?

Becky - Those costumes sound great!!! Good luck with getting made:wizard: even though you don't need luck because you always sound so talented with sewing :)

Sam - :wave2:

Leigh - Have a great trip!!!!! :wave2: Going horseback riding sounds like lots of fun - please tell us how it was!! Be safe!!

I have a couple of more posts to do, and then I'm off to the shower.
Have a great and wonderful day today everyone!!!!

Bunchy that is cool that they share a birthday :)

No real cause to the hearing problems at this time, they think it could possibly be fluid from the C-section, which is why they want to give it a couple weeks before administering the 3rd test.

Here is ROman Alexander:

WELCOME ROMAN!!!!

You are so adorable!!:goodvibes
We all look forward to meeting you at a DIS meet someday
Be a good baby for your mom!!!!

Michelle - He is beautiful!!!!
Congratulations to both you and Sal :goodvibes
Please keep us posted on how he is doing, and I will keep him in my prayers that his hearing will be normal the next time you have it tested:wizard:

One thing I forgot to mention was that when the school called me on my cell phone I was on the other line with slo!!!
I put slo on hold to take the call from the school and then I had to go back to her and tell her I needed to let her go because Lauren was hurt and was going to be taken to the hospital. I hated ending our conversation like that because you know your just leaving that person hanging wondering what happened. :guilty:
So as soon as I had Lauren home and settled in, I called slo to let her know all was ok.
She told me she had said a prayer for Lauren right after I hung up with her earlier. And I believe she was heard! :goodvibes
I'm so thankful to have found good friends here! :flower3: :flower3:

I believe so strongly in the power of prayer, and I do believe I was heard ::yes::

I was so nervous after you got off the phone with me, and I felt so helpless because there was nothing physically I could do for you. So I did the one thing that I could do for Lauren from work, and that was pray. She's such a good little girl, and the thought of something bad happening to her was just terrible. Thank you for calling me back yesterday and letting me know that she was okay - I really appreciated that!!!! Stephanie was so sad for Lauren because she sees and hears badness all the time with Kevin being an EMT (with him watching the kids, there are times he goes straight to the scene with them in the car - so an ambulance is very familiar to them). Please give Lauren some hugs from me   , and tell her that we are all so glad that she's okay.

How is Lauren doing this morning??

I agree with you about having great friends here - I am grateful everyday for starting this thread!!!:grouphug:

Bunchkin :grouphug: - how is Lauren this morning? Did you have to wake her up every 2 hours all night long? Are you going to keep her home today? How are you doing? Did you get any sleep at all? Whenever soething happens to the kids, I am calm during the crisis but once we ll go to bed i just lay there and shake.. :grouphug:

What a cutie!!! And I see he has Gabriel's hair!! :goodvibes
I'm keeping good thoughts for Roman that his next hearing test will show he's fine!!!

Poor Autumn............two little brothers to contend with now!!!
I bet she'll make a cute mommy's helper! :cutie:
me too..

Leigh Have a good trip. It looks like you will have good weather. have fun , the horseback riding sounds supper..

Today is Alex's 13th birthday I'm still trying to figure out where my little baby went?
Happy Birthday to Alex.. 13 already.. r u gonna do anything special for him or does the trip to WDW count as his b'day trip??

Last night we went to a college fair at our school district.. Geoff talked with Drake , Beloit and Grinnell and of course Knox and Cornell. Then Dh wanted him to talk with U of I springfield.... next week he takes the PSAT for National Merit and then on to the ACT and SAT in the spring..

Eric got grounded yesterday.. He got out of school early ( so did Geoff but he came right home after XCountry running and did homework) and went to Brothers Ribs with his friends. he called and told me and I told him to be home before dark.. ( 6:30 pm) After the ribs they came to our house and played Twister, and football and then just hung outside and talked. I am okay with all of that.. but then it was 10 to 7 pm and we had to leave for School for the college fair and he is now where in site.. not in his room, not outside, not down the block.. no where.. so i called his cell phone - no answer, called his friend Tyler's phone and he comes on the line and he is at one of his friends house.. HUH?? Left, didn't say he was going anywhere, didn't ASK.. just left at 6:20 pm.. even though he was told to be home by 6:30... so he said he would leave right away and get home. I called him 5 minutes later and he told me that they were going to a pizza place and then he would be home.. I DON"T THINK SO!!! We had a long talk about curfews and letting people know where you are and turning on his phone so I don't have to keep calling Tyler..So he is grounded for a month.. GRRRRRR

Bunchy,
I hope Lauren is feeling better today and everything is OK with her.

Crissup - Thanks for the tip!!! I like getting good coffee while on vacation (I don't when I'm home - I just brew and go at home), so I will have to check this out. Do they open early?

Slo,
I'm not sure what time they open. I'm not a morning person, so it's usually afternoon by the time I make my way up there. Of course, you can find out on the cruise board. ;)

Crissup How is Carolann's job search coming? Oh and thank's for the Boma recommendation. It was definitely a big thumbs up with Alex and I.

:wizard: for Lauren today, I hope she is feeling ok. (and more  for mom too)

Michelle ~ Roman is quite a cutie. I will keep him in my thoughts and I hope the hearing tests come back normal next time. Even though I lost my hearing when I was three due to illness, please feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

Happy Birthday Alex!!

Good morning everyone!!!

I just want to thank everyone for their concern for Lauren.

She is doing better this morning and even went to school.
She only had a slight stiff/sore neck on one side. I gave her something for it and she has meds at school she can take if needed. But it seemed to be feeling better by the time she left for school.

No recess or gym for her for the rest of the week though.

It's amazing how kids bounce back from something like this.

Sam Please tell Megan to be careful on the playground!!! You just never know what can happen.
When I spoke to Lauren's teacher last night she had already gotten word from the school nurse on how she was looking to find out who sent Lauren in to her!! :sad2:
Heaven for bid if anything should ever happen to Megan you can always call me and I would go to her at school until you or Dan could get to her. I would never want any one's child to feel alone in a need like that or any parent to worry about what was happening with their child while they were trying to get to them.

Leigh Even though you're probably gone.....have a great trip!!!

Hersey No headache for Lauren. Just a slight stiff neck.
Taking Alex any where special for dinner?

geffric I did kind of wake Lauren up off and on. Just kind of rustled her so I didn't wake her fully since she needed her rest. And since she was responsive that was fine with me.
I was stressed last night but tried to manage it best as possible because I didn't want my heart going crazy. And I was able to get some sleep even though I kept waking up every hour or so.

slo I will give Lauren hugs from you when she gets home later!
Tell Stephanie not to be sad for Lauren as she is going fine!! And let her know it's very nice of her to be concerned for her like that and that she has a big heart. :cutie:

Well, I better get going.

Lauren is having her b-day party (that we put off) with her classmates this weekend. It's a spa slumber party. And I need to get to the store for food and party stuff!

DisneyMommyMichelle~~ Your little boy is a cutie. Congrats

HI Everybody.
We have been sick and can't get over it. we keep passing it on to eachother. Make it go AWAY!:wizard:

Crissup How is Carolann's job search coming? Oh and thank's for the Boma recommendation. It was definitely a big thumbs up with Alex and I.

I will answer since I am excited right now, lol! I have an interview Monday that I am looking forward to. Sounds like a good position and I have passed through a phone interview and online testing thus far! So crossing fingers for this one...thanks so much for asking!

Hi to everyone...my job search seems to be a full time job for me, geez. I can't tell you how many hours I spend searching online, newspapers, sending resumes, etc. Have had just a couple interviews thus far, one pending actually. And now the one for Monday.

I am jealous Slo - I just adore the DCL and don't have another planned..you will love Cove Cafe!

Bunchy - hope your DD is feeling better today

and Hugs to everyone!!

Bunchkin -- I'm so glad Lauren is feeling better today!!! What a scare!!! :grouphug: I hope she has a really fun birthday party!!

Leigh -- I know you are already gone but have a great time! Have fun on the horses. My DH & DD did the horse ride. It is a gentle walk on a trail. Great if you aren't familiar with horses (i.e. if I ever went) but for someone who knows about horses, it's kind of slow. I can't tell if they would do it again or not. From talking to them after they got done it was a take it or leave it type of thing but then the next minute they are talking about riding the horsies. :lmao:

Hersey -- Happy 13th birthday to Alex. :bday: You could do like I did to my DD -- I told her she had to do 12 a 2nd time because I wasn't ready for a teenager!!!! (You know how adults do 29 *several* times, etc...) She didn't go for that. :rotfl: I hope he has a fantastic day!!!

slo -- I'll take ALL the :wizard: I can get with my sewing. I'm really not that talented. I muddle through but at least for these it's Halloween costumes, no one is going to care if things aren't great. Although with DD, we are using a Simplicity pattern and she keeps bringing me the entry form for a Halloween costume contest. I read the rules, if you get picked you have to send in the actual garment and they inspect it. :scared1: :lmao: I think they do that so they know you actually sewed it yourself or something but I tend to ummm...cheat and skip directions since it's a wear 1 time outfit, it doesn't need fantastic construction or anything (I have issues with facing stuff, never works right for me, so I skip it and so far hasn't been an issue). On the family board there is a Custom Boutique thread that started and they make absolutely gorgeous outfits (tends to be for things to wear at the parks!!! I thought I was doing good matching T-shirts to the parks, that's NOTHING after seeing what some come up with). I will post pictures though once the costumes get made. I'm buying the little guys ones, if I can get to the store before they sell out.

Aces_babydoll -- Tell Amy she has a cutie there! princess: And here are some "go away sickness" vibes for your family! pixiedust:

i'm now back home and suffering from disney withdrawal.
post disney depression i think it is called.

i just finished reading thru the thread.
i hope i remembered everything correctly so i will briefly say....

happy birthday, happy belated birthday, cute new tag and appropriate, countdown to cruise time, sorry for the sickies, hope all better, hated to read about the accidents, glad they are better, it's hard to read about accidents on children, new job interviews, wish you luck, moving to florida, take your umbrella and sun screen, girl scouts and boy scouts rule, quickie trip wish i was going geffric, happy anniversary, newbies are here, one in zion also, wow, meet hersey and alex, super nice people, pretty new babies, furnace on, no more summer here.......

i think i missed somethings my memory isn't what it used to be...

i had 15 days split vacation this year, 11 at the motherland and 4 at the darkside.

i ended up getting home early on tuesday morning, oct 9.
there was an emergency on the flight i was to take and it had to land in kansas city.
a person had a heart attack while in flight and had an emergency landing.

the plane left denver and was to land in orlando for my -part of the flight monday evening. since that plane was diverted to kansas city airport, it didn't arrive into mco until monday night. therefore, after it had been cleaned up, we were allowed to board.

i didn't mind the waiting. i felt horrible for the family that went thru this emergency.

you know how it is after you get home from a long trip, so much to do.
still doing laundry and emptying my suitcases.

but i am back now and happy to be home for the most part.

i see we had a zionite come to the thread. hope he comes back.

Welcome home Mac.. how was the WDW stay this year? and Universal?? Was the F&W fun? Spill the beans.. tell us all about your trip..

Hi! :wave2: I haven't been here for soooooo long, but just got back from Disney SOLO MOM vacation (10 days) and caught up on everyone else's vacations, lives, and PRETTY NEW BABIES! :cloud9: wow. I've missed so much. What quacked me up the most though was that MACRAVEN AND I WERE ON THE SAME FLIGHT HOME! baaaaahahahhaha. Wish I'd known so I had someone to yack with for all those hours of waiting. Should have been paying more attention to the Chicago thread you know. :) Anyway, looking forward to MacRaven's trip report ~ will compare notes ~ our paths probably crossed more than 1 x. Hope everyone has a great day! :goodvibes
