Aces - Thanks for letting us know about Amy's baby:) I'll need to send her a PM:thumbsup2

Becky - I"m sorry you haven't been feeling well :guilty: I hope you feel better soon:wizard: What are you making for your kids Halloween costumes?

Sam - I am getting so excited about the trip:cool1: I normally am all packed by now, but I just haven't had time - I need to start that very soon!!

piglet - I"m glad you were starting to feel better yesterday:) Hopefully today you feel even better yet :wizard:

Bunchkin - First I have to say........
OMG - you got to see Captain Jack!!!!!!!
I"m so jealous!!!! I"m really hoping to get a picture with him on the cruise. But from what I understand, the wait is usually dreadfully long to see him:guilty: Tell the kids how I said they are so lucky to have seen him :teeth:
*Thanks for the link to that pumpkin patch - it really looks great!!!!! :thumbsup2
*I have only 2 sets of things laid out for the girls - their nightgowns, and Katie's blankets that she cuddles with - it's the only thing I know to take:rotfl: This trip is really throwing me for a loop on how to pack:rolleyes:
*I love the continuation of your TR :) Did the kids eat off the adult menu or the childrens menu? My only issue with that place is the kids menu - there's nothing there for my kids to eat:sad2:

Leigh - Have a great time on your trip to WDW:cool1: Please take lots of pictures (we can never see to many pictures) and post them when you get home. Stay safe, and eat lots of good food:goodvibes

My coffee is now gone:coffee: , which means it's time to leave the computer and get ready for work. This is the time before a vacation that's always hard to know what to wear to work, because I don't want to wear what I'm going to wear on vacation. But with it being cooler out, that probably won't be a huge issue:rolleyes:

Have a good day today!!!

Thanks for anlother installment of the trip report Bunchy. It sounds like such a fun trip and you take very cute pictures of the kids. How was Ohana for breakfast compared to Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace??

Are you feeling better today??

geffric ~ another college (though farther away) is Colorado College. It too offers the "one-course-at-a-time" program, if that is something he really liked about Cornell.
Yes he really likes the one course at a time. He suits his learning style.

geffric Just saw the college stuff. I really liked Cornell too, but felt Know was a bit too stuffy for me. Has he looked at Coe in Cedar Rapids, Ia or Culver-Stockton in Canton, Mo?? I went to Culver-Stockton, but wish I had gone to Coe. .
I liked Cornell too. And we will check out Coe -I guess we should have checked it out while at Cornell since they are very close.. Oh Well.. another trip for us..

Aces - Thanks for letting us know about Amy's baby. Congrats to her..

Have a great trip Leigh. BTW Eric wants an Ipod classic.. maybe they will be on sale at Black Friday.. I could only hope..

Hersey Glad you like Saratoga Springs..the location seems so out of the way to me. Nice to here that it was so nice!

Good morning, Chicago friends!:) Mark & I just got back from a great short vacation up to Door County, Wisconsin. We went up for the Pumpkin Patch Festival in Egg Harbor & also went to the artist craft fair in Ephraim, and since the weather was so perfect, we managed to even take a ferry boat ride across to Washington Island and do some bike riding there. The colors of the trees up in Door County are absolutely amazing at this time of year, it was quite a gift to be able to experience all of that!:thumbsup2

Mark's sister finally got the results back from the second surgery, and thankfully, no cancer was found in the other set of lymph nodes! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I guess that radiation will be the next step, and we are hopeful that things will go well.

Hersey...welcome home! It sounds like you guys had a good trip. I would LOVE to see some pix!

Bunchkin...thank you so much for posting your trip report...I have truly enjoyed reading about what you guys did, and especially all of your pictures.

Slo...short time for you till you go! I hope you have a wonderful vacation and bring back lots of great memories.

Geffric...wishing you all the best in the college search! It can be quite an emotional time.

Becky/Piglet...hope you both feel better soon.

Kim..good to see you here...hope you all are doing okay.

Amy...congratulations!!!

DMM...anyone heard any baby news, yet?? Thining of you, hope all went well.

Everybody...have a GREAT day today...I wish it were a *tad* warmer out there, but can't really complain as we have had some really great weather, esp for October!!!:cool1:

Slo,
Be sure and check out the Cove Cafe on board the ship. Carol and I love to just sit out on the deck sipping our mochaccinos and watching the sea go by. If you go inside the Cove Cafe, there are free goodies such as glazed fruit in a chocolate shell, and pastries for the customers.

A lot of people also enjoy sitting up there and smoking, but it shouldn't be a problem for non-smokers. Carol doesn't like smoke, but she doesn't even notice it up there because it's only a few people at a time and the draft keeps it cleared out pretty well.

And don't forget your frequent customer card. If you buy (it's either 5 or 10) coffee drinks, you get a free one.

Good morning everyone :) I'm home and totally exhausted. Little ROman was born October 6th at 8:06 am. He was born with some hearing problems, but we have been told to give it a couple weeks as it could be due to the birth :sad1: So i'm praying and hoping. We will cross that bridge when the time comes. Other than that he is wonderful.

Sal has photos somewhere on here, and I will post one as soon as I can get him to stop drooling on the baby! hahaah!!

Take care everyone!

DMM .. congrats on Roman being born. I will remember you and the family in my prayers.. hope that the hearing thing goes away and he is just fine and healthy all the way around..

Good morning all!!

Turned the heat on last night!!!
Anyone else??? :)

It's a little brisk out there this morning.
Lauren left with a fleece coat on and then came back in and asked for gloves and a hat!!! :)
Hunter left in his winter coat!!!! He was so cold.
It is just soooo windy out there!!! BRRR!!!

Leigh Have a great trip!!! Hope you can take lots of pics to share with us!!
We love the Concourse!!! So yummy!!!
Safe travels to you!!! :goodvibes

slo WOW!!! 10 days to go for you!!! :yay: Not sure what to pack? Shorts and capris should do it!! Oh, and tops too of course!!! ;)

We really got lucky seeing Jack! Like I said, there was hardly any waits for anything while we were at WDW!! Hopefully you will get to see him on the cruise!

Are you asking about Pecos Bill menu?? If so.....
Lauren wanted the double bacon burger off of the adults menu. But there is no way she would have eaten it all. So I ordered it and we split it and then I ordered there kids salad with chicken for me. Hunter had the kids chicken nuggets.

Lauren is getting to the point where for the past 2 trips she has asked how old will she need to be to order off of the adult menus, while we were on the dining plan. Occasionally there is just nothing she wants from the kids menu. And how much mac and cheese can the kids eat during the trip!!!! :sad2:
I don't think we will use the dining plan again. We were over stuffed and had credits left over we couldn't use.

One thing we noticed that changed with the dining plan was no desert was offered any more at some counter services with the meal. It wasn't offered at Pecos but was offered at Columbia Harbor House.

geffric The major difference between Ohana's from Chef Mickeys and the Crystal Palace is, of course, the selection of food. You obviously will have a larger array of foods to choose from at the buffets.
But with that said, we really do like the sit down family style at Ohana's. The food is really yummy and more than enough to fill you up. And all you have to do is ask and they bring more. In fact, a few times we didn't even have to ask. The waitress just brought more on her own.
And it is a tad quieter at Ohanas, since there aren't so many people running around.
Well, except for when the kids all join in with the characters to dance around the room for a short while.
Regardless, it's still a more laid back breakfast. We really enjoy it there.
We did eat at Crystal Palace this trip, but for dinner. We like it there as well. I find there food better then Chef Mickey's. In fact, we haven't eaten at Chef Mickey's in a couple years!!! :rolleyes1 ;)

Donna Nice to see you stop by!!!
Door County sounds wonderful!!
Glad to hear the good news about Mark's sister! :goodvibes

Have a great day all!!

DMM Prayers for little Roman that everything will turn out ok. Do the doctors know what is causing his hearing problems?
He shares a b-day with my DD!! :yay:

Bunchy that is cool that they share a birthday :)

No real cause to the hearing problems at this time, they think it could possibly be fluid from the C-section, which is why they want to give it a couple weeks before administering the 3rd test.

Here is ROman Alexander:

:Becky - I"m sorry you haven't been feeling well :guilty: I hope you feel better soon:wizard: What are you making for your kids Halloween costumes?

I feel MUCH better -- basically normal now (well...as normal as I'll ever be. :lmao: ) My 10 year old is going to be a Vampire. I'm making him the cape and I went to Jo-Ann's and found some bat fabric to make a shirt out of it. I'm trimming the cape with the same fabric. We were trying to find some baseball bats to use too just as a joke kind of thing but nothing struck me as working well.

Then my DD wants to be this fantasy type princess? or something or other thing. http://www.simplicity.com/assets/9891/9891.jpg -- The blue one.

We shall see if it comes out looking anything remotely like that.

The younger boys want to be Star Wars characters. Obi-wan for the little guy and Anakin for DS-7.

DMM -- Congratulations!!! He is a cutie!!! Hopefully the 3rd test will come back fine and it's just fluid.

Amy -- Congratulations also!!!

Looks like Oct. 6 is a busy birthday day for this thread!!!

Bunchkin -- Love the trip report

DD did fantastic at school yesterday. She went to the doctor and no wheezing, etc... so basically she just has to finish her inhaler and looks like she is cleared. UNLESS something happens between now & then. So...

Of course, she didn't get the choral part she tried out for but I didn't think she would since she started coughing toward the end of her try-out.

Here is ROman Alexander:

What a cutie!!! And I see he has Gabriel's hair!! :goodvibes
I'm keeping good thoughts for Roman that his next hearing test will show he's fine!!!

Poor Autumn............two little brothers to contend with now!!!
I bet she'll make a cute mommy's helper! :cutie:

Michelle Roman is such a cutie.I hope the next test he passes with flying colors.

Donna I'm glad to hear about Mark's sister. I hope she continues to have good news.

We also ate at the Crystal place for dinner this last trip. Very good food. I agree Chef Mickey might be coming off our list. Too loud and with the increase in price doesn't seem worth it for us.

Geffric I don't think Saratoga is far out from the parks only about 15 minutes. I know you like the resorts by Epcot. The only thing you could walk to was Downtown Disney.

This has been one of the worst days ever!!!

I got one of those calls that no one wants to get. :sad2:

Hunter and I were just headed out to the mall around noon when I got a call that Lauren had fallen off the playground equip. at school and they were calling an ambulance to take her to the hospital.

I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.

She had fallen off of something called a glider. It's where you hang from a handle type bar that glides from one platform to another. She had stopped mid way and her friend gave her too hard of a push and she fell onto her back and head.
The fall wasn't too far from the ground luckily.

And here's the part that makes me mad, the one teacher on playground duty told her to just go to the nurses office instead of telling her to lay still and have someone go for help.
The nurse did say she was going to find out which teacher this was because that was something that shouldn't have happened. :sad2:

So I arrive at the school right behind the ambulance. They put a neck brace on Lauren and transferred her to a board and then on to the stretcher.
She had complained of not being able to feel her legs, which is why the school nurse called for the ambulance to come.

On the way to the school I called Tony to come home.
And then called my mom to come help with Hunter.

I get to the hospital and she's already in a room and a nurse is with her.
Lauren was so brave during the whole thing. I think seeing me in the hospital so many times in the last year and in an ambulance kind of gave her some knowledge that she would be ok.
She only cried once that I saw.

She was a little nauseous from the fall. But seemed in good spirits.
They took her to do a CT scan almost immediately.
After which we had to wait over an hour to have it read.
My mom arrived while we were waiting and took Hunter to find something to eat since he didn't have any lunch yet.

Nurse came in later and removed Lauren from the head stabilizer and the board. And then the attending doctor came in and gave us the all clear. The CT scan didn't show any signs of damage or bleeding, nothing!!! :)
And it was obvious she was feeling better. And after a check over by the doctor we got to leave.

Tony's train took a while to get in of course. And he had also stopped by Lauren's school to get her stuff for her. So we just met him at home, which is down the road from the hospital.

Right now Lauren's getting ready for bed. I'm going to have her rest in my bed and watch tv. I need to keep an eye on her all night per the doctors orders. As she does have a concussion. I need to wake her every 2 hours to make sure she is responsive.
She's still feeling a little nauseous.

I'm just soooo thankful she's ok.
I was so scared when the school nurse told me Lauren said she couldn't feel her legs. :sad1:

Well, Lauren's out of the shower so I need to run.
I need to go take care of her AND destress!!!

Bunchy Tell Lauren Alex and I hope is feels better soon. What a scare. The some of the people that help out on the playground sometimes don't use brain power.

Alex once went head first down a slide at school and chipped a tooth on the concrete.

Oh my gosh! I am so glad to hear that she is OK, and that there is nothing major wrong. My heart was pounding just reading it. If there is anything I can do, please let me know as I am right down the road.

Just got the kids in bed.

Lauren's teacher called a moment ago to see how she was doing.
She was very concerned.
Especially since I couldn't get to the phone right away, I was tucking Hunter into bed. She thought we were still at the hospital. So she was relieved when I called her right back.

She just came to ask me for something, so I told her you and Alex are wishing her well.
Thanks! :goodvibes

That's very nice of you to offer!
Thanks for the concern.

One thing I forgot to mention was that when the school called me on my cell phone I was on the other line with slo!!!
I put slo on hold to take the call from the school and then I had to go back to her and tell her I needed to let her go because Lauren was hurt and was going to be taken to the hospital. I hated ending our conversation like that because you know your just leaving that person hanging wondering what happened. :guilty:
So as soon as I had Lauren home and settled in, I called slo to let her know all was ok.
She told me she had said a prayer for Lauren right after I hung up with her earlier. And I believe she was heard! :goodvibes
I'm so thankful to have found good friends here! :flower3: :flower3:

Wow Bunchkin! Tell Lauren that Megan and I hope she feels better really soon. That must have been not too long after we talked this morning/afternoonish. OMG! I'd be really mad too. Megan has fallen off that new playground stuff a couple times herself. She said her stuff is up really high and she has to jump to get it. She already landed on her back once too. I will be telling her to be more careful from now on as I can see what could happen. If I got that call, I'd puke because there'd be no way for me to get there in any type of quick fashion. I really hope they give that teacher a hell of a reprimand for being so gosh darn stupid. WTH??

Thank gosh the nurse had half a brain!

If you need anything, just call!

Bunchkin - That's awful about Lauren! I'm glad she's ok, and i hope she feels better soon.

Michelle - Congrats on little Roman, and thanks for posting a picture. He's so cute! :goodvibes I hope his hearing clears up and everything is A-ok.

I'm finishing up my packing before I go to the airport. I leave in about 45 minutes, so I need to go get dressed soon. I just slept a few hours earlier in the evening and then got up to finish packing. I had already picked out my clothes, so that seemed like the best thing to do. Hopefully I can sleep a little more on the plane.

I signed up to go horseback riding on Sunday morning at Ft. Wilderness! I think it sounds fun. I'm trying to do different things there. Then I'm going to try to eat lunch at WCC, then go to DTD. So I think I have things pretty well planned out, finally.

See you guys soon, stay warm! ;) :rolleyes1

Leigh Have a good trip. It looks like you will have good weather.

Bunchkin How is Lauren this morning? I bet she has a major headache. How are you doing know. I always get a whoozy feeling after a major scare like that.

Today is Alex's 13th birthday I'm still trying to figure out where my little baby went?
