What beautiful weather we are having!!! :sunny:
I'm so glad that I'm off the next 2 days to enjoy it :goodvibes

Tonight, Stephanie is going to her first sleepover - she is very excited!!!! Katie on the other hand, is very sad about it:sad1: She keeps crying that she's going to miss her sister - what sisterly love they have for each other:goodvibes So when Stephanie is gone, I'm going to get a big stuffed pizza for Kevin and I to enjoy (the girls don't like this type of pizza), and we are going to sit in front of the tv and watch a movie (I'm going to put Katie to bed early). It should be a nice night!!!!!:goodvibes

Then tomorrow I think we are going to take advantage of the nice weather and spend some time in the pool - we won't have many times left to do this before we close it up for the winter (which is going to be here before you know it).

Rose - Have fun at Summerfest this weekend :cool1:

HERSEY - Kevin had no luck with Hammond :sad2: They said that it happened on a state road (RT 41) and we would have to call Indianapolis. They advised that the state would take it's sweet time to get an adjuster out to look at it, and they would tell us where to take the car to get it fixed, and this process could easily take weeks and weeks. They said this was the states way to frustrate people into paying for it themselves - how irritating!!!!:headache: We went ahead and paid for the car to get fixed - we can't live with just one car:sad2:

Donna - I"m so sorry to hear about Mark's sister :guilty: I will absolutly keep her in my thoughts and prayers  Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

Well, I gotta get back to work (I have a lot of little things to get done that I've been putting off for quite some time now). I doubt we'll be busy today, with it being the holiday weekend, but who knows:rolleyes:

Have a good day today everyone!!

Good morning all!! :wave2:

Has anyone had their air conditioning off?? We have for the past couple of days. :cool1: The breezes through the house have been great!

Donna So sorry to hear what your sister in law is going through. :( I sure do hope the surgery was a success and that the cancer didn't spread. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
Good luck to your son's group in the parade Monday!!

Hersey Why an essay on Alex? :confused3 What is the teacher hoping to learn.....that she/he will actually remember!!??? ;)

YAY!!! You're 29 days out till your trip!!!! :cool1: :yay:

Crissup Glad you and Carol had a great time at DL!!! Welcome back!! :)

slo We have not told the kid's teachers about our vacation. Last year I told the teachers right away at the orientation days. Lauren has an open house next week so I will tell her teacher then. But unfortunately Hunter's open house is while we are gone so I will need to tell his teacher soon. We will actually be going to miss a couple things while Hunter is gone. There is some special school wide phonics testing they are beginning on the day we come home. Not sure if he'll be able to make that up, if it's necessary.
Their schools do not love that parents go away on vacation, but I have never gotten a note that said they didn't approve. And their schools do not provide homework ahead of time for them to do while they are gone. They have to make it up when they return. I'm really not worried about what Hunter will miss. And Lauren is straight A's so it's never been an issue for her to make up work either. She may miss a test or quiz as these fall on Fridays and we will be gone on a Friday. They will miss school Thurs, Fri, Mon and Tues while we are gone.

Have you told Stephaine's teacher yet??

We just discussed last night going during Thanksgiving break next year. Our schools reformatted their 4 grading quarters to 3 semesters which now gives them the week of Thanksgiving off from school!! :cool2:
We like going in Nov when the weather is cooler and the crowds are low.

And yes, we are very excited about being now 19 days out!!!!! The only hard part is that AGAIN Tony is super busy with work!!!......just like last year when, if you remember, he missed part of our trip.
Are the girls excited about your cruise??? princess: princess:

Would appreciate thoughts and prayers for Mark's sister, who is a year younger than he is, and was just diagnosed with a rare type of female cancer. She had surgery yesterday and we are now waiting for the results of a lymph node biopsy. Thanks, friends.

mark's sister is on my prayer list.
please keep us updated on her.
cancer is a difficult thing to go through.

Oh, are you going to Septemberfest this weekend?
Matthew is probably going to march in the parade on Monday with his Cub Scout Pack :thumbsup2

rose, have a wonderful time at septemberst this weekend!
take pictures of matthew marching in the parade for us.

Has anyone had their air conditioning off?? We have for the past couple of days. :cool1: The breezes through the house have been great!

:

we never had it on.......
so yes, am loving the cool weather now.

hope all the chicagoland homies have a swell and safe holiday weekend!

Crissup...would love to see some pictures of Disneyland! I'm glad you guys had a good trip.

I haven't processed the photos into web pages yet, but they'll be up on my Disney Vacation Photo site soon enough. We did have a mini DIS Meet with Tink33, Maryjo and Michelle (used to be a webmaster here). We took a photo, and then remembered we also took a photo of us all in 2002 also. So, I've gotta dig that photo up and post the two of them together over on the Think Tank so we can all laugh at how we've changed, or not changed, over 5 years. ;)

Hi.. how is everyone today.. beautiful day..

Eric had a football game this am and his team won!!! Yeah. geoff s at a Cross country meet.. not hone yet so i don't know how he did.

DH waited for Lowes to deliver the new frig.. for the 3rd time.. and that is a very long story.. but they installer arrived and took the old frig out but NO NEW FRIG.. guess it wasn't on the truck..:confused3 .. They are looking for it.. but we may be without a frig all weekend and Eric is having a b'day over on Sunday.. not that Freshman boys will leave any left overs to be refigerated..:rotfl2:

But the old leaky frig did get my floor.. last night eveything was fine but about 3:30 am, The cat woke DH up for some food and to tell him that the water leaking from the frig was all over the kitchen floor... he mopped it up but there iare BIG bubbles on some parts of the floor where water just sat all night..

Donna prayers for Mark's sister..

rose have a wonderful time at septemberst this weekend when does
matthew march

Hi all :wave2:

Went over to Septemberfest this morning for the carnival rides for the kids. We are walking distance from the Fest.

Geffric, Mac, and Donna- Matthew and Don will be marching in the parade, starts at 10am on Monday. Chrissy and I were invited to walk with them, with Matthew's Cub Scout pack, but Chrissy doesn't want to do all that walking, 2 to 3 mile walk. So Chrissy and I will be spectators. We usually are at the end of the parade route, where we live the closest to hte parade route(where Chrissy and I hang out).

Donna- I'll try looking for your DS's group there!

Prayers for Mark's sister
Please keep us posted on the results, if possible :wizard:

Geffric- Hope you get your new frig soon. Sounds very frustrating :scared:

Birthday tomorrow. visiting my grandma tomorrow.

have a good weekend everyone!

Hey all. Sorry MIA for a couple days.
geffric sorry about your floor. #3 after all I guess.:sad2: Hope you get that new fridge soon.
This weekend is beautiful. Weather is so nice. Took kids for a bike ride today and went to the park for a while. They are going nuts just sitting inside. At least they have the computer games to play. Even the dog is stir crazy and he's not allowed out for long walks til Wed.:scared1:
Still have the pool up but think I may take it down during the week while kids are in school
Heading out to the races in IN tonight for a little while. Need to get moving.
Sandy, Rose, Bunchkin, Mac, Crissup, Hersey, Donna, DMM, and everyone else, enjoy the holiday weekend. Hope you all have a great one!!!
Donna, I will be sure to keep your SIL in my thoughts and prayers. Cancer is such a tough thing to go through.
Later all.

geffric, did you get new tags????

that really sucks about the pergo floor.
hope they find your fridge soon.

no one wants to drink warm soda or milk.

YAY!!! Under 30 days to go for you too!!! :cool1:

I hope you're able to enjoy your trip!!!
And hopefully every thing will be nice and calm while you're gone! :thumbsup2

It felt so nice to sleep in today!!! :goodvibes

I had a great ad and article in the paper today - 2 full color pages!!! :thumbsup2 It was very expensive for me to do, but I'm hoping many people see it and come in :wizard: In addition to being in today's paper, I'm also in the paper 3 more times this week (1/2 page ads) and then 3 more times in September after that (business card size ads). I'm praying for great business in September:wizard:

In a couple of hours I have to go pick Stephanie up from her first slumber party and sleepover ever. I can hardly wait to hear all about her good time. Then we are going to be in the pool all day, which will be nice:) , because it may be the last time for the season:guilty:

Bunchkin - No, I haven't said anything to her teacher yet :sad2: She's only going to miss 3 days this year, because we are going over Fall Break :) I will have to say something soon though, because if I don't, I know Stephanie will  Luckily, all her teachers in the past have given Stephanie all the work she would miss before we leave (even the the school handbook says that the school is not required to do this, and it's up to the individual teacher). I'm indifferent if I should ask for this work this year, because she's not going to want to do it on the cruise. Before we had 3 days on The Gulf with Kevin's parents where she did 80% of her work - it worked out great!!!!:thumbsup2 Your very lucky that Lauren does so well in school, and if able to make up her work so easily. School comes very hard for Stephanie, and she struggles with having to much work to do, so I don't know what I should do  I guess I still have a little time to think about it
**Going over Thanksgiving sounds like an awesome plan!!! :thumbsup2 From what I understand, the crowds are pretty low at that time :woohoo:

geffric - I"m so sorry to hear about the damage to your floor :guilty: This has not been a good week for you

Rose - Good luck to Matthew in the parade tomorrow!! :wizard:

TTTTTigern - That's great that the kids were able to get out yesterday - I'm sure they really enjoyed that!!!! :goodvibes

Mac - :wave2:

Crissup - I"m looking forward to seeing your vacation pictures!!! :)

Well, I have Ms. Katie on my lap now, and I have to get her some juice - she's so sweet!!! :cutie: I'm always asking her if she has to grow up, and she always says "yes":sad1:

Have a great day today everyone!!

good sunday morning chicagoland homies!

catch you later, going to church.
have your backs covered

Slo Katie is so cute. Alex used to tell me he would stay small forever.
Well, you have seen him not so small is he. :rotfl:

Mac Thanks as usual for covering our backs. I too really need this vac, I can hardly wait. I fighting myself, I want to drag out the suitcases.

This looks like it's going to be a beautiful day. This afternoon we go to a cookout with family and relax. This morning I have housework oh yeah.

Howdy!! :wave2:

Last night we had a fire in the fire pit in our backyard and I got so cold I had to actually go make myself a cup of hot chocolate!!! :goodvibes YUM!!

slo I hope Stephanie had a great time at her 1st sleepover!!!
Hunter always tells me that he's never growing up!!
Does your school go by the rule that the kids have as many days to make up their work as days they missed. That is how our school's are. So if Stephanie missed 3 days of school she would then have 3 days to complete her work after she returns. I would check in to that. :thumbsup2
Have fun in the pool today. :)

geffric Sorry to hear about your floor being damaged. Will those boards be able to be pulled out and replaced easily?

Hersey Have fun at the cookout today!!
I say pull out the suitcases, give them a good vacuuming and a shot of Fabreeze and air them out!! It will make you feel like your even closer to leaving but yet not giving in to packing right away!!! :rotfl:
I'm getting our suitcases up from the basement today and doing just that!! ;)

Tiggerrn Do the kids start school this week?? :teacher:
What kind of pool do you have that you'll be "taking it down"?

Well, I'm off to do some house cleaning and laundry. DH went to go work for a short while. At least it better be a short while as he promised Hunter to go fishing at one of the ponds in our subdivision. :)

Have a great day everyone!!! :flower3:

SLO Geoff struggles in school too but for the cruise he did homework on the plane ride there.. it helped to have a good start.. on the plane ride back he was too tired..

Bunchkin yes I think that it is a matter of replacing boards but I have stressed out over the frig issues that i am on the noncope for a while ...Have fun fishing with Hunter..

Well the frig came this morning.. was supposed to be at 8 but it didn't arrive until 10:30 but it is here and working on getting cool..
but we noticed yesterday that the Honda was making a noise like steel on steel so it will have to go to the Honda dealer this week.. the good news is that bad luck comes in 3s and that is the third thing..:cheer2: .. ...

Thanks MAc for thinking of us..

Gotta clean for Eric's over tonight and organize an Eagle Board of Review for a scout and take Geoff to his Eagle counselor so he can rewrite his project description and we can get him going to..

Happy Birthday Rose.. when you said the other day that you were going to a party I had the impression that it was for someone else's Birthday.. Happy Birthday and wishing you a happy healthy year..
