I had a great week at work last week, but no business yesterday:confused3 You would think that more people would shop on Saturday, than during the week :confused3 I'm actually starting to feel bad for my new employee, because whenever she works, there's never any customers:sad2: It's going to be very difficult to train her, when I have no customers to show her how to help them:rolleyes:

I'm sure glad to be home today ::yes:: After working all day, and then going to church, I went back to work until 9:30pm. I had some things I needed to get done by Monday afternoon, and I wanted to do them w/o interruptions. So the girls came with, and we turned up Radio Disney real loud, and they had a great time playing out front, while I worked :teeth:

Today I'm going to put my butt on a pool float, and I'm going to soak up some sun :sunny: I actually have some errands to run, but I'd much rather take advantage of the pool on a day like today.

Tiggggggern - I'm glad Kellie's audition went well. I'll send lots of PD her way for her to get into that ballet :wizard: :wizard:
**Thanks for telling us about Aug 18th being the day to get tickets to see Hannah Montana. I'll have to talk about this with Kevin, but I'd love to take Stephanie (and maybe Katie too) to see her.

DMM - Good luck with getting ready for your garage sale :wizard:

Crissup - You are too funny!!!! That made me laugh!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Bunchkin - I wish the school Stephanie goes to would mail her class assignment. They post all that information on the window of the school on the 17th, and we have to go check it out ourselves :teacher:

Disneynut - Bye :wave2: Have a great trip!!!! :cool1: I hope you and your kids have a magical time. I can hardly wait to hear all about it when you get back.

paint - Your basketball cupcakes sound yummy!!!! :goodvibes I have to work till 7pm on Friday, and I"m glad the store is so close, because I should only miss the first 5 minutes (unless we sneek out a couple minutes before 7 )
**Congrats on your 1000th post!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: (again ;) )

HERSEY - You talking about mosquitoes makes me think to tell you that we finally have some mosquitoes here. Do you remember me telling you how our area was mosquitoe free? I finally saw some the other night, and one was on my foot:rolleyes: But we are still lucky to not be to infested.

geffric - I am so sorry to hear about your fridge. I hope it's just a simple repair, and nothing that requires a whole new fridge :wizard:

Mac - I haven't been online much this weekend either :sad2: I hope the heat hasn't been to much for you all in your house.

Becky - Did you have fun at the wedding last night? :)

Rose - Good luck trying to find that calculator :wizard:

Well, I think I may go and make some banana bread before we go outside today. I have all these browning bananas, and I hate to just throw them into the forest for the critters.

Have a great day today everyone!!!!

Good Morning everyone.
It's Sunday and it's a beautiful day outside. Wanted to say as I get Cameron (DS) ready to go to the White Sox game.

Have fun at the game today!!!! :cool1:

Morning all.
OK I just have to say, don't you just know when all the kids disappear and not even the dog is nearby, something is UP!!!:rotfl2:
Was sitting here reading posts when I realized, it's awfully quiet. There was the pooch, chewing on a squirt gun in the corner of our back bedroom. Kids are actually playing with a punch balloon in their rooms to avoid the dog. I just knew that hound was up to no good. He's worse than the kids ever were.
Looks like it's going to be a lovely day. We had a storm blow through last night. Lot of wind. Not too much rain. Planning to do a little:laundy: and then go to DSIL to swim in their pool. Too nice to sit in the house one more day.
Well, have a nice day all.

Since I am a huge dork, let me try this again. Woohoo! 1000th post. That's a whole lotta' Disney talk!:mickeyjum

Uh Ohhh!! Now it says you only have 923 posts!! What's wrong?!?

Hmmm....

OK, OK, I was kidding!! Bet you looked though, didn't ya?!? :lmao:

Congrats on the milestone!!

My uncle in central Illinois died on Tuesday. :( The family decided to have him cremated and not have a funeral of wake for him. But, feeling they needed to do something, my cousin decided to have a gathering at her house just so everyone could get together and have a good time in his memory.

So, Friday morning Carol and I headed down to Mattoon to grab a hotel for the night. Then, we headed on over to Ashmore and up to my cousin's for the get together. We had a good time. For Carol, it was her first time meeting several of my relatives from down there. While she had a great time, she's also happy that I live near the city and didn't move her down there to the sticks. ;) :lmao: But, we had a good time visiting my cousins and my aunt.

Yesterday, we got checked out and headed for Arcola to do some shopping. We ended up buying Carol a nice single glider for the front porch. It's like an adirondack chair built into a glider frame. It's really nice. Then we set off to Dutch Valley Meats in Chesterville, where Carol and I managed to spend $100 on meats. I love their beef jerkey!! From there, it was off to Arthur to have lunch at Yoder's Country Kitchen (they have an awesome buffet! Not huge, but all the great Amish staples) where we stuffed ourselves and then drove into downtown Arthur to walk it off in the shops. Finally, I picked a country road and pointed the Durango north until we hit I-74 and then worked my way east to Mahommet and picked up Rt.47.

I think many times Carol was convinced we were never going to see civilization again. :lmao: I'll admit there were times I wasn't sure where we were, but I know how to work my way through those roads and knew I'd have to hit the highway eventually and then just keep working my way across the gravel until I came to where I wanted to be. In spite of the purpose of the trip, we had a good time.

Now today, we're off to meet Keenho and Keenercam from the DIS in Chicago. We'll have a nice dinner before they have to fly back east tonight.

Maybe I'll talk Carol into running down to the state fair this weekend.

See ya's all tomorrow.

Good morning :)

Tiggerrn- best wishes on your DD's audition the other day :wizard:

Paint- you are not a dork. Congrats on a 1,000 posts! :cool1:

Bigben- Have fun at the Sox game! :woohoo:

Crissup- Since you are the Galena, IL. expert here, do you know much about Apple River, Il. and Chestnut Mountain ski resort near Galena?
DH and I are going to a family wedding(DH's side of family) next month in the Galena area.
The wedding ceremony is at Oak Hill wedding chapel in Apple River.
The wedding reception is at Chestnut Mtn resort, close to Winston, IL. the outskirts of downtown Galena.
Just wondering if you ever stayed at Chestnut Mtn or knew about the place very well?
I have been on the Chestnut Mtn website a few times.
And on the galena.org website.
Any fudge places you recommend in Galena?
Any info appreciated, thanks! :)

Sorry to hear about your uncle passed away
DH's mother(my MIL) was cremated right away when she passed over 10 yrs ago. DH's side of the family didn't want to do a funeral or memorial service right away either. It was about 5 months later we had a memorial service for her at our church (I and DH's church). Had a small reception at the in-law's house.

Unfortunately, while I do enjoy Galena, I'm far from an expert on the area, so I can't help you with your questions. However, I do seem to recall someone on this thread being from the Galena area though. Maybe they can jump in.

We did buy some fudge when we were there, but my brain is mush at the moment and none of the shop names are coming back to me at the moment. It was a candy store that had invented some candy years ago and the original hand written recipe is framed and hanging behind the counter. Galena Candy Kitchen, or something like that.

Sorry I can't help you, sure wish I could.

That's ok :)
Thank you for the name of the Candy Kitchen :thumbsup2

Good morning!!

Big wind storm and rain passed through our area too last night. In fact it was soooo windy it woke me up at approx 3:45am. I could hear something kind of banging outside. I figured it was the kids Bonzai sprinkler that is a long rope type which we left hanging from the play house. Well, moments later the wind went really wild and the next thing I heard was a CRASH!!! The play house took off again!!! But across our yard and into the neighbor next door yard. It ended up in pieces!!
So I woke up Tony and he went out to collect the playhouse before it went all over and damaged something. Don't want to get the 'nice neighbors' mad at us!! :) I watched him from our bedroom window picking up the roof of the playhouse and all at once the fire pit which was next to him flew off into the air!! I thought he got hit, but he didn't luckily. So I went outside and helped drag the playhouse to the garage. We were fighting the wind all the way. It was the wildest most craziest wind I have ever experienced!! Then the rain started.

I still need to go hunt down the play phone from the play house. It's out there somewhere!!!

slo Have fun relaxing today! So glad to hear your store was busy during the week. :thumbsup2

Tiggerrn Have fun at the pool!! :)
Sorry if seeing Hunter's amassed collection of Star Wars Legos lit a fire in Kyle!!!

Crissup Sorry to hear about your uncle.
I have always wanted to go to Arthur to check it out. I have been to Amish country in Shipshewanna IN many times though.

bigben Even though I am a CUBS fan I'll still wish you fun times at the Sox game with your son!! ;) :)

paintnolish Congrats, finally, on your 1,000th post!!! :yay: :cheer2: :cool1: pixiedust: :disrocks: :rockband: :dancer: party: :rainbow: :jumping1: :stitch: :mickeyjum :goofy:

All of you Nortneners are lucky to ge getting rain. We have had nothing down here! Our grass is so brown and dry! I can't tell you the last time we had any rain.
crissup- Haha. You had me for a split second. You can't joke with a mom of a 6 and 7 year old. My brain can't take it. It has been a long summer!:headache:
ben- My sister's bf is a huge fan of the Sox and is molding ds into one, too. He just took him to his second game. He came home with a hat, jersey, and konerko t! I think ds eats his way through the game, though. Licorice, nachos, hot dog, cotton candy...that stuff is more expensive than the hats and shirts!
Rose- I have been to Galena quite a few times. Unfortunately, I just know restaurant names! Even you need any recommendations, let me know!
tiggerrn- Ah, puppies! That is why I am so glad my dog is 8! The worst thing he does is sleep on the couch when we are gone!
Thanks on all the congrats for my 1000th post!
Okay. Time to do something productive!

John Sorry to hear about your Uncle. I love going into those little old towns, you never know what your going to discover. If your looking for a good old fashioned meat market go to Reams in Elburn. It's west of Geneva on RT 47. They have every kind of jerky you could think of.

I slept through the storms last night. My neighbors were camping this weekend. When I woke at 6 this morning I noticed they were home already.

bigben Hope you and your son had fun today

Just lurking around seeing how my Chicago Diser's are doing.
Hope everyone has a great week.
:cheer2:

Bunchkin-
I believe you mean 9-21;)
Yes, we are going that day and cannot wait. This will be our first MNSSHP and we are dressing up as a family of dalmations.
:cheer2:

We had a great family day yesterday :goodvibes
We started out doing nothing in the morning, and then at noon we moved out to the pool. I forgot to put sunscreen on my face, and needless to say, I could feel it frying when we were outside (and it's really red and sunburned now - yikes it hurts!!). So at 2:45 we decided to come in and shower and then go to the mall. So we did that, and then we ate dinner at Pizzeria Uno - yummy :goodvibes We then came home, I watered my flowers, put Katie to bed, and then we watched tv for awhile. What a nice day!!!! :goodvibes

Tiggerrrrrrrrn - Your boot comes off this week doesn't it? I bet you can hardly wait!!!!!!

Crissup - My sympathies about your uncle passing away

Bunchkin - I'm so glad you and Tony didn't get hurt out in that wind. Were you ever able to find the phone, or is it still MIA :confused3

Ms. Grumpy - How fun that you are all dressing up as a family of dalmations :dog: You guys will have so much fun!!! :cool1:

To everyone else - :wave2:

It's time to get ready for work.
Have a great day today everyone!!

On Friday August 17, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on VH1 is

I Love the '80s: 3D - "1982" Episode #3.
Orange Julius; `Victor/Victoria' ; EPCOT Center; Freezy
Freakies; `Cats'; Human League; Bow Wow Wow; Tron'; VCRs. VH1
description says"In 1982, Walt Disney helped us keep our science
straight and bored kids to tears with his brand new EPCOT Center, the
"Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow." (TVKirby sez - The
segment is the
second one after the commercial break at 40 minutes in. As expected,
they spend a huge TWO minutes with the VH1 celebrities that call it
both Fantastic and Boring. Wil Wheaton proclaims it "Everything that
Geeks Love". They show scenes from opening day. There is a shot of
Dreamfinder and Figment. Commentary on World Showcase concentrates on
the availability of alcohol. Lots of "It looks like a big golf ball"
references to Spaceship Earth combined with a graphic of a giant golf
club hitting it. It was about what you would expect from VH1. Worth
recording for the footage.)

---

On Friday August 17, 2007 from 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM on Cartoon Network is

Family Guy - The Courtship of Stewie's Father
Stewie has been taking out his aggressions on Lois, and she
decides that the reason is because he isn't close enough to his
father, so she orders them to bond. They finally succeed at Disney
World. Carrie Fisher provides the voice of Angela, Peter's boss at the
Pawtucket Brewery. (TVKirby note - This show is on late at night for a
reason! Rude and Crude and I was laughing out loud when Stewie fufills
the old Jungle Cruise joke and gets chained and forced to sing in the
attraction that approximates "small world" in the Family Guy universe
version of WDW.)

This show will repeat
Saturday August 18, 2007 from 3:00 AM to 3:30 AM

---

On Sunday August 19, 2007 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM on the Travel Channel is

Great Hotels - "Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts - FL"
Nestled on a lake within eyeshot of EPCOT at Walt Disney
World, these fantasy-themed resorts turn back the clock to the
turn-of-the- century summer homes of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
Samantha enjoys the super-sized pool and a Kitchen Sink sundae.

When does everyone's kids head back to school??
Mine start next Wednesday the 22nd.
