Slo ~ :flower3: Please know that I mean "clique" in a very nice way. I know that anyone is welcomed here, so I did not mean it like that. I just know that a lot of people assume that no "newbies" are welcomed to the Angel thread, and that is not true. Just like new people are always welcomed here, it just seems intimidating for anyone to come to a thread that has a lot of posts and that seems to have regulars. I lurk here from time to time, and try to post, just don't do it. I am sorry if using the term "clique" came across as something negative, as I really did not intend it to. :)

A movie (any movie) at Kerasotes in New Lenox sounds great to me!

Hi, Chicago...okay I will try typing this again, as I lost the whole first post I typed...ugh..I hate when that happens!!!

Looks like all who went on Sat had a good time...thanks again, BUNCHKIN, for planning this one..hope Mark & I can get to the next one, as they are always a lot of fun...

We did the tourist thing on Saturday with Mark's brother & his wife. We went to Navy Pier, had lunch at Bubba Gumps outside, went on a boat ride on Lake Michigan, went to the American Girl store, went to the Signature room at the Hancock Center, and had dinner at Gino's East downtown. The weather was just perfect for running around the city! On the boat, we learned that the Indians named Chicago...CHI-ca-GOOOO, and that Chi-ca-GOOO means SMELLY ONION... so there ya go, fact of the day from Donna!:rotfl2:

Hope you all have a great evening!:)

You went to Bubba's, How was Bubba? We love their hush puppies.

this is not a clique thread.
a friend of mine, tarheelmjfan came to this thread when she was planning a chgo stay for her vacation. she lives in florida. many gave her the 411.

many people come here to ask us advice about our city. we all share information gladly.

many many times when a newbie comes on board and posts, there are at LEAST 3 of us that hang out the welcome mat. that would not happen if this was a clique thread.
and slo always gives them a shout out and invites them back.

people that post once or twice and come back are always spoken to by who is on line at that time.

on other news, mr mac is still sick and driving me nuts.
he IS going back to work tomorrow.......:rolleyes1

:rolleyes1 Well…alrighty then!
:surfweb: I think I am finally caught up……

Back to me now though:rotfl2: …..do you guys remember me asking about the pools??? What do you guys think?? What are the really fun pools for kids outside the deluxe resorts in WDW????? Any other theme pools like the deluxe resorts have?

I was in Wisconsin this weekend. :goodvibes It was great! The sea wall is terrible but everything else was fine. My family got a lot done and the weather was so nice (really windy but nice).

:hippie: I am just gonna keep my post short and sweet:love:!
:grouphug:

Donna I love going to Bubba's!!! :goodvibes

Debbie Both POR & POFQ have great pools. My kids loved both equally!! :teeth:

macraven Yay for Mr. Mac going back to work and getting out of your hair!!! :rotfl:

Debbie As long as there is water the kids will have fun. In my opinion it's the adults who want the theming (if that is a word) Alex thought the pool at Carribean beach was nice though he liked the "quiet" pool the best less noise and people.

Mac I hope Mr Mac isn't trying to get more sick by going back to work to soon. But at least you get your alone time :happytv: back.;) You know eating Bon Bon's. By the way what are Bon Bon's?

Ok happy dreams and may tomorrow be another day not like today PLEASE

By the way what are Bon Bon's?

:lmao: I don't know but I thought at one point I saw them in the store where they were chocolate covered ice cream in small bite sized portion. They looked like the size of chocolate covered cherries.

I have no idea if those are the real bon-bons or if they just used the name as a marketing ploy. I DO remember stopping and going "OHHHHH....so THAT'S what Bon Bon's are???? :confused3 " when I spotted them in the freezer. ;)

That was me who mentioned the concert on TV of course! We are still nuts for HSM! We now have sheets, PJs, slippers, a towel, fake crocs, and Tshirts galore all HSM! Can't wait for the Concert on DVD to come out too. I know....I'm nuts!

If you can believe it I just went through a crazy ticketmaster presale again but this time got Section1 Row 10! No joke! Can you believe it!

It's the WIGGLES baby!!!!! Fake Greg and all! My kids will be thrilled! I won't tell them about it until it gets closer.
I think it's crazy my DD loves HSM and yet still loves the Wiggles too!

Good night everyone!

Macraven...glad DH is better!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I got the e-mail about the presale and just keep thinking "No, I don't think so". :lmao: I can't handle the stress. No one really overly likes them that much here, so it was an easy decision but was wondering if they will be a crazy sell-out too.

Did you hear they will be putting the HSM concert on DVD -- I don't remember where I heard that though.

Debbie,
Here is the pool at POR. It looked really nice.
Linda
Boy, looks like I sure picked a good day to be at work. This thread really got hot!!!!!
Hope we are all still friends.:wizard:
And I am glad that you all welcomed me here after I lurked for so long. I have met some very nice people here, and in person as well. And I hope to make more meets in the future.
Glad to hear most had a nice weekend. The weather was wonderful.
Mac, hope your DH is mended. DS here is still not completely himself (read in - he is not yet eating me out of house and home)but he is better. Now my only hope and prayer is that DD doesn't get ill before her big Peter Pan ballet.
Well, going to get off to bed. Grandparents Day at school tomorrow, so I have to be there early.
Later

Hey all! Glad some of those earlier post are over! I think everyone is really great on here. They welcomed me last year when I was a newbie and were just as welcoming to my sister when she recently joined. Anyways, although I only went to the Cars meet and the Wicked meet, I always want to go. Scheduling, you know! I would be up for one in New Lenox, for sure, and Schereville really is not far from me either.
Debbie- As far as pools, the only mod we have stayed in is CSR, but their pool area is awesome! They have that Mayan temple thing and a twisty water slide. I love that resort! Sigh...
Crissup- A Galena meet? I know you were jk, but that is another place I love. Good food...Vinny Vanuchi's and Backstreet Steak and Chophouse!
Hersey- Bon Bons...hmm? Do those have anything to do with Bon Jovi? I'll bet Bunchkin knows!
HSM...Anyone get tickets for the ice show? My mom bought tickets to take dd. I can't believe they were on sale so far in advance. I hope she still likes them monthes from know. I say this as she is sleeping on a Troy Bolton pillowcase...
Okay, almost bed time. Night, all!

John Thanks for helping out. :thumbsup2

Bon Bon's are a dream of mine when I win the lottery I'll be sitting on my island with an umbrella drink eating Bon Bon's. :beach:

Also when my ex wanted to push my buttons he would say I was eatting Bon Bon's all day I couldn't possible know what REAL work was like. He was kidding of course but he would ruffle my feathers.

Alex's castle is looking really nice I'll try and take pictures and figure out how to post them. To bore you all while I brag ;)

good tuesday morning chgoland homies....

i heard this coming weekend will be great weather.

wake up sleepyheads........

Today is another very busy day for me - appointments all day :faint: My car doesn't know what to do with itself - it's never had to drive this much:rotfl:

I'm glad things have gone back to normal here.
It's like a breath of fresh air :)

Donna - Wow, you had a great Chicago day :goodvibes We love doing those tourist things too ::yes:: I'm glad you had fun!!!
**Oh...we love Bubba Gumps - they have great Coconut Shrimp:goodvibes

Mac - I"m so sorry that your DH is still not well :guilty: His sickness has really gotten a hold of him. I will send more PD :wizard: :wizard:

Debbie - I'm glad you had a nice weekend in Wisconsin :sunny:
**I"m sorry I can't help about pools - we've only stayed at The Poly, The Contemporary, and The WL.

Bunchkin - :wave2:

HERSEY - I think you are right about the pools. My kids could care less about the themeing (sp?), it's definitly me that wants it - I never thought about it before. You are very good about getting me thinking - you know that?! I have to tell Kevin about the candybar wrappers - I still like that idea

Becky - I saw them in the freezer section too. They look yummy, but I didn't but them :sad2:
**When I read your post about your DD and her backbrace, I felt so bad for her. I bet this is hard for you too, because we, as mothers, never want to see our children unhappy. I hope the summer is not to difficult for her - she definitly needs some PD:wizard:

John - Thanks for the Bon Bon info :)

Tiggernnnn - How's your DS feeling? I hope he's better :wizard:

paint - I bet you are really enjoying your time off of school. Are you packing for your move yet? I'll definitly send some PD for that:wizard: - I hate moving!!!

Disneynut - I didn't take your offer to do a meet a complaint:sad2: If you would like to do one, that would be great :thumbsup2

piglet too - Thanks for clearing that up, I appreciate that

Jedi - Where are you??? We are worried about you!!!!
Please check in soon

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and get going
Have a good day everyone!!!!

I did, I did! I know it was crazy to have to buy the tickets so early but I was one of the insane ones that went to the sold out concert. Talk about putting some grey hairs on your head -- I actually ended up paying out the wazoo via "scalpers", I mean ticket agents, *cough* to try and get seats together because it was basically impossible to get more than 2 seats together anywhere otherwise. I refused to invite any of her friends for the ice show & decided it would be just the 2 of us this time around.

I'm hoping it's not quite as insane as it was for that since there are more shows.

Which day are they going? We are going for the Saturday 11:30 AM show & hope I don't lose the tickets before January. :lmao:

My DD wants to go besides liking HSM, she's trying to figure out how in the world they are going to do the Get Your Head in the Game song with basketballs on ice. :rotfl2:

Off to get the little guy up & the big kids to school.

Morning all!! Quick fly by before I'm off to help at school. Whew!! This is early for me and I've already showered and ironed clothes. YUK!!! I hate ironing.
Becky, I hope your DD isn't too sad this summer. Any chance she can wear the brace early AM and then later in the day so she is not in it during the hottest parts of the day? I suppose it is not a possibility to wear at night vs. day.
Well, I have to run. Have to put DD hair up. She has a private ballet lesson right after school today.
Later.

Crissup- A Galena meet? I know you were jk, but that is another place I love. Good food...Vinny Vanuchi's and Backstreet Steak and Chophouse!

Here's a nice photo of downtown Galena for your viewing pleasure. Click on the photo for a larger copy of it...
