Hi all. I want to thank everyone for their prayers for my mil. Things were looking lots better but now she's doing very poor and probably won't be with us much longer.:sad1: I have to finish packing because she lives 8 hours away. Take care and will check in later.

I am sending my thoughts and prayers along to your Mom and you! Take care of yourself!!

We will all be here for you when you get back! :grouphug:

My goodness...I am way, way behind here!! I am trying to catch up now. We had a busy weekend and I don't work Mondays, so I wasn't on very much. Plus, I was glued to FOX yesterday due to the shooting at Virginia Tech.

We used to live just about 40 minutes from there (in Roanoke, VA). That town and campus is so beautiful and normally peaceful. It just blows my mind that something like this can happen. It took me right back to when my sister was attending Penn State. She has written a good post on her blog - HERE. It's just so sad.

Big hugs all around! :grouphug:

Just a late-night spy for green lights. Looks like they're all out.

Night all!!!

Hi all! QUICK fly by------
Scout days are May 12 and then June 2 (the waterpark is open this day). We can't go May 12 - this would be my preference however DD has a home gymnastics meet that day & then June 2/3 is the state meet, we just don't know if she's competing on the 2nd or the 3rd. The cost is $27/person and then they have an all you can eat picnic for an extra $10. We went to the picnic last year & it was good. So for basically $37/person -- you get admission & food. Can't beat that!

That's weird. Our GS day is May 19th. http://www.shopgirlscouts.com/ With the twicket/extra day, it's really cheap, imo. FYI, ths Girl Scout offer is available to any/everyone!!!! :thumbsup2

Donna - Keeping busy is right ::yes:: This is my first day in awhile w/o an appointment for something. I'm glad, because I have plenty that I've been meaning to do, but haven't had the chance.

Bunchkin - I'm so sorry to hear about Tony :guilty: I am glad though that his appendix waiting until you got home, instead of in California. Please let us know how Tony is doing, and how his surgery went. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers (along with alot of PD being sent his way:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: ) Give him a hug from me  and tell him that I'm thinking of him.

jax - :wave2:

Tiiggerrnnnn - The car is like a race car :car: I laughed when I read that :rotfl:

Becky - It's good you found out about that tour price being per person before you gave them a credit card. I think going on Scouts day sounds like a better plan:thumbsup2

Rose - :wave2:

Sam - Welcome home!!!! :) I'm glad you and Megan had fun in WDW despite the crowds ::MickeyMo

poohlover - I"m sorry to hear that your MIL is starting to do worse:guilty: Please be safe while you travel to see her, and please keep us posted on her condition when you get home. Many prayers being said for her

mvazul - Thanks for the link!! I will read it sometime today.

mac - :wave2:

Kim - How is your DH doing?

Well, that's about it from me today
Have a good day today everyone!!!

That is weird! I wonder if it's a seperate deal? I don't see the picnic as an option on yours so maybe a special group discount is applying even though technically not Scouts day. :confused3

I know on our council website it said May 5 & June 2 but I think that was a typo on the GS part. Last year it was the first weekend in May, so I think they just guessed it would be that same weekend. I'll have to look and see if May 19 is a good day for us -- we may just have to go through your council. I looked and yours says it's due to Family Community Parternship as opposed to it being Scouts day (the Six Flags logo has "Coasters for a Cause" on it but I don't know if that is going on that day or something).

The first weekend in May is always Batavia's citywide Garage Sale that my parents always participate in, that was why we couldn't go last year then. I didn't have my babysitter. So, I was all excited to see on GA website this year it was May 12. I thought, YEAH we can go in May (less crowds, etc...) then checked the calendar and boo -- DD's gymnastics once again takes over. :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 that anyone can go get tickets. I know I walked into our council shop, bought the tickets and they never asked me anything regarding if we were Girl Scouts, etc...

Hi all-
Today is class field trip day at school. Both Chrissy and Matthew have a field trip to the symphony orchestra in another suburb this morning. They will be back to school by lunchtime. Then in the afternoon supposedly they will have an assembly in the gym about square dancing! I know their gym classes just finished the square dancing unit. Yeehaw!! Don't know why they have an assembly on this, but it makes Chrissy very happy!
Then Chrissy has a girl scout field trip right after school today.

Becky- thanks for the info when scout days are at G. A. :thumbsup2

Hi to all :wave2:

At three minutes and four seconds after 2 AM on the 6th of May this
year, the time and date will be
02:03:04 05/06/07.
This will never happen again.

Hi Everyone,
Yesterday was My Mom’s birthday so we had a great day at Old Orchard and then dinner at Kampai. It was very nice. Hit Gymboree again though so that always means spending more money then I should.
Hope you guys are all doing well. Haven't had time yet to read everything this morning. Nicole, I really hope your DH is better. How yucky!!!! Sorry DL was disappointing too. For some unknown reason I just have no desire to go there. Glad you had a nice vacation though. Sam..glad you had a nice trip too.

poohlovermom
, So sorry about your MIL not doing well. Continued prayers!:grouphug:

Is this a Kidz Koncert thing? My 4th grader is going to that on Friday. It's supposed to be made specifically for students -- they talk about each piece, etc... It sounds interesting.

I know the timing is interesting as they just went to the High School yesterday to hear the band & orchestra play due to it's time to pick out instruments for next year. DS wants to play the trumpet. :scared1: and if that doesn't work then the French Horn. They played Star Wars music so he was happy.

So basically they started this week with a concert & will be ending the week with one.

You are welcome for the GS information. I'm glad Kim let me know about the 19th as that probably will work out much better for us. I just have to wait to hear about when the state meet is.

good afternoon chicagoland homies.

just a quick drive by for me.

leaving in the morning for macomb and will be back saturday. might use son's laptop to check in if i can.

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

Thanks for all the well wishes for DH! :)

He had his surgery yesterday morning, and was back in his hospital room before I could even get to the hospital myself.
Everything went fine and he has no ill side effects.
In fact they let him go home last night at around 8pm.
Can you believe it??? I thought for sure they would make him stay over night.
So he's recuperating at home now. Incisions are hurting a bit but that is to be expected.
No driving or working for about a week.
And he has a follow up visit with the doctor next Wednesday.

All of us are recovering from our vacation and the time change plus jet lag.
Lauren did not want to get out of bed this morning.
And Hunter was so tired he took a nap on the couch in the play room at about 10:30am, so he didn't go to preschool today.

I promise to post soon about the bowling meet next weekend.
I think, like I said before, that we will just pick a time to meet and hope that lanes are open and take our chances since there will be leagues there bowling too. Remember there is also bumper cars and an arcade and food too.

There are some really good movies coming out soon!!!
Shrek 3, Pirates 3, Ratatouille, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!!!!
Maybe one of these can be a meet too.

Becky- I don't know what a Kidz Koncert is, but they went to the Elgin Symphony field trip today. That's all the info I got from their permission slip forms. My kids did observe the 6th grade band last Fri, to see if htey want to take up an instrument. Still on the decision stage, not sure yet about joining band or orchestra next school yr.

Mac- have a safe trip picking up your DS tomorrow :wizard:

Debbie- happy birthday to your mom! Sounds like yo uhad a great time at Old Orchard. Hadn't been to Old Orchard shopping center in years!

Ok, gotta run.

Have a good day everyone!

Hi Bunchkin, glad to hear the surgery went well. Tell Tony to behave now for a week and relax!!!!
Mac:car: safe. I used to hate that boring drive to Macomb. Went to school at Robert Morris in Carthage many moons ago to be a Med. Assist. Then decided that wasn't going to earn me enough $$$ so went and spent some more $$$$ to go on through nursing school.:rotfl2: That was the longest, most boring, sleep inducing ride ever. Has it built up around there much? Used to be nothing but corn!!!
Well, back to :laundy:
Puppy was B-A-D today. Chewed through the cord of my CD player. Hope I can order a new part. I've had that player for 9 years already. It's a good one. Rotten pooch.:rolleyes1 :lmao:
And a meet for pirate: would be great!!!

Tiggerrn2 :rolleyes1 Yup I remember those days well. Hershey chewed my crock pot cord one night must have tasted good.

Bunchkin Glad to hear Tony's on the mend. :thumbsup2

I do believe it's the same one. We got our permission slip in February for this!! I kept it because I knew I'd forget. It is part of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra's 2007 "Copland Festival" it goes on to tell you about that the concert is entiled "KIDZ KONZERTS" -- Aaron Copland's America. Explains a bit about the music, etc..

THEN we got another sheet just recently called "At The Concert" which basically goes over concert etiquette. Get seated early to listen to warm-up; Listen carefully (sitting very still :rotfl: :rotfl: (that's a feat in & of itself for my DS!) & listening carefully)

A few more points and then goes on to tell you when to Applaud that it's not custom to Applaud between "movements" It says this won't apply though because at these concerts they generally speak to the audience between movements.

It was funny because since they were going to see a concert Tuesday, I thought this sheet was referring to that until I got to the part regarding the movements and it mentioned the ESO Kidz Konzerts. Ooohhh! Although it does apply to both.
