Hey, back after a nap and shower. They both felt great!!!
Bunchkin, the 1:45 is fine. Do you think I will have trouble getting tickets when we arrive? I see SamIAm was proactive and purchased ahead of time. I am a little leary of doing that on this wireless computer myDH just had to convert us to. It always says the thing is not secure and others can read our info. :scared1:
Did you ever consider bubble wrapping them and mailing them ahead in a box instead of carrying them along with you? Not sure what the cost would be, but it would keep you from smelling of coffee:rotfl:
Slo, how did the dentist go? DD has trouble getting her teeth cleaned well also. Her permanent teeth on the bottom came up behind her baby teeth before they fell out so now they are all crooked and it's hard for her. I brush them every couple of days myself just to try to get them a little better. She would probably benefit from a cleaning every 3 months instead of six. My insurance wouldn't cover that, I'd have to pay for it myself. Might be worth it, though. She is an orthodontists dream in the making:scared: .
Well, I'd better get a move on. Lots of :laundy: to do today. Think I'll clean out my closet and drawers, too. Not going to fit back in half that stuff I've been looking at for the past 3 years. No sense keeping it any longer:lmao:

Hi everyone! Have fun at "Meet the Robinsons". I can't wait to take the kids to see it. They will be with their dad this weekend or I'd join you!

mvazul- We went the last weekend of Aug last year and the crowds were not bad at all. It is so hot, but def doable. WDW is fun no matter what! Oh, and Garrett's caramel corn is to die for! So good!
Hersey- Hi! Is ds excited for potc 3? My ds is! He got a bunch of action figures for his bday (7 yesterday!). One of them is some Singapore guy from the new movie.
Bunchkin- You are so lucky to be leaving soon! I wish I had a trip planned! I have not been to DL since I was a baby!
Tiggerrn2- Congrats on your new addition. He is adorable!

Hi all-
Ok trying this a 3rd time. I have been writing my post this morning and it keeps disappearing b4 I send it :confused3 Driving me crazy:confused: :headache:

Yest. I and my kids met up with a friend of mine and her kids at the last minute at the McDonald's by me. I needed to give her her girl scout cookies she ordered and get together to chat, etc.
Today we are staying home and being lazy (at least Chrissy is being lazy).
Tomorrow we may possibly meet up with my mom for lunch at her work.

Tiggerrn- Tiggs is soooo adorable! thanks for the pic!
I think you had mentioned you will be going to Legoland and DL on your next trip? I always wanted to go to Legoland, at least for my DS, as he loves anything to do with Legos! We didin't get that trip planned as DH said it was going to cost too much money to fly out htere for the 4 of us, plus Legoland admission and DL admission, plus hotel . That's why we had agreed to go to Hershey Park. At least we can drive there without too much problem. We still will have fun tho! Have a good time at Legoland when you go! :cool1:

Mac-hope you are feeling better  :wizard: I had hte stomach bug for about 4 days a few weeks back. Then after that it turned into a head cold for a few days.

Slo- glad all went well with the playdate yest. hope all goes wel with hte dentist today for Steph.

Unfortuantely I have to go and help the kids make their beds.

Hi to all!

Hi Rose and Paint!
How are you two today?
Thanks, Tiggs is a cutie. Had a couple of accidents today. Other than that he had been doing really good. Today he is playing more and I think he gets sidetracked. The past 2 days he had whined and walked to the door. He is also eating and drinking more today than he had the past 2 days. I think the shots he got on Friday made him feel dopey and now he is himself.
Rose, it would be expensive to go to CA for us as well if it weren't for free lodging. We will be staying with friends and relatives during our stay. We will have the airline and car expense, though. Not enough time off to drive all the way to CA. But still not having to pay for lodging saves $$$.
Hope everyone is having a good day. Wish the sun and warm weather would come back though.
Leigh, can you see that fire from your building? Looks pretty big.
OK I need to get some work done around here.:rotfl2:

Hey Roseprincess: That's TOO COOL about your twins! tell me the truth...is it harder now that they are older? do they fight like cats and dogs sometimes or is it just MY twins that do that?:rolleyes1 just wait until your daughter is a few years older....whoo weeee! be afraid, be VERY afraid! :scared1::scared1:
My twins play together fairly well and then they fight, too. I guess it is quite typical for twins and siblings in general to play and fight, fight and play.

All the years, since they were babies, have been hard. My DD is special needs and so is my DS. Long story and not going into it here. If you would like to know more, just PM me ;)

Forgot to mention....

mvazul- glad you had a wonderful birthday last weekend! :cool1:

Leigh- how's your packing going along? I take it you will be moving to your new place very soon!

jedi :wave2:

Debbie- haven't seen you here in a few days. Hope you and your family are doing well :)

Hi to KimRaye, whenever you read and/or post :wave2:

Hi to all :wave2:

Becky- how did the museum visit go with you and your DS? Which DS were you taking? Just want to know how it all went :)

Leigh, can you see that fire from your building? Looks pretty big.

Yes we can. (There's a fire at 500 W. Monroe, and I'm at 500 W. Madison, one block north.)

I don't think it's across the street, but rather two buildings down, but I'm not sure. We could just see the smoke and the fire trucks when we all went over to look at out the window. ;) It's not on our side of the building, so I only went over once. Apparently there's a lot of smoke, but it's not really that bad and they're not evacuating the building. I think it's just on the roof.

Oh and Rose, I meant to answer your question about the Mickey flash drive (also called a jump drive). It's a little drive that just looks like a little plastic stick. It's something like one inch wide and three inches long, and fairly flat. You plug it into the USB port on your computer and it gives you additional storage, and you can move it from computer to computer. Sure have come a long way from the old floppy disks! :rotfl:

I got all my new furniture delivered on Saturday, and I like it. Then I went to Penney's and found a comforter set as well (on sale :woohoo:). I have pictures of it all but I haven't uploaded them yet. I still have a ton of packing to do, and I sort of haven't been very productive at all the last two nights. :rolleyes1 Last night I was just lazy, but the night before I really didn't feel very good. I was getting a cold, but <<knock on wood>> I seem to be almost over it today.

So tonight I really need to get moving! Although the main day will be Saturday. That's my do or die day. :scared1:

Ok, did you guys see Sanjaya's hair last night on AI??? :scared1:  :scared:

Becky- how did the museum visit go with you and your DS? Which DS were you taking? Just want to know how it all went :)

We are going tomorrow if all goes well and children don't kill each other first. I had the 10 year old & 3 year old hit heads just a bit ago. The poor 3 year old ended up with a bloody mouth, DS-10 complaining about his knee hurting because somehow he banged it on the stairs after smashing into DS-3 with his head that he didn't see there. WHEW!!! I think all is well now, except dS-3 will have a fat lip for the rest of the day & probably tomorrow.

My parents are coming over at 7 AM, and DS (the 10 year old) & I have to be ready to go to get to the train station. My dad is dropping us off there while my mom is staying here to watch the other 3 all day.

We will be arriving in the city around 8:30ish, then attempting to figure out how not to get lost on a bus to get us to the Field Museum. Along with hoping there are actual tickets there for me for an exhibit that is truly open. We aren't going to the museum -- we are going on a scavenger hunt apparently. :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm bringing the credit card just in case! :lmao:

The bus is what has me worried the most. I'm just not that used to how it all works & it's not as easy as Disney where it gives you the destination on the marquee. If one showed up and said "Museum Campus" I'd be all set. Unfortunately, they aren't catering to me so it doesn't work that way. ;)

I'm getting better though. The first time was with DD & we managed to get from the train station to the AG place with a bus just fine. Coming home was another matter but we got there. This year I should be a *little* more confident that I know what I'm doing & will fake it even if I don't. Can't let DS see me being in a bit of a panic (even if I'm a little freaked out inside). I am definitely fine with the train part now though!

wow........i slept in today and then came to the chi town homies site.

there is a LOT of words that have been written since yesterday....
and as you all know how i am, i completely forgot everything i wanted to add a comment to.........lol

so here's the shortcut of it all:

happy belated birthday, no, it was happy birthday i was on time, cute little puppy, tigs is a cutey, yes siblings fight and they still do even when they turn 35, nice new furniture, sorry to the sickies, yea to the trippers, hersey used to be a chocolate bar now its a park, fun for a dis meet, movies are kewl, schedules listed, info on the motherland always a good thing, disney plays, disney shows, free dining, sore feet, coffee smells great, no extra bags, slo and the knees are duct taped, and i forgot the rest.......sorry

but happy wednesday afternoon chicagoland homies...

first thing i really did today when i woke up was to call and make my adr's for the motherland trip for sept/oct. doing a long one, then later a short trip.

the cm i was talking with told me there will be a free ddp offered to the disney visa holders. i asked him for the dates it will cover and he said he was informed all of sept up to oct 15th. he said the codes will be available to the general public after the visa holders code has been out for a few days.

i don't know who to believe. the dis boards have a thread that claim free dining will be late august to sept 22nd. i told the cm that and he said, no august. only sept and first two weeks of october will be the free period.

he also told me that april 15th will be when disney announces the mnsshp dates. 3 dates will be in sept he claimed.

seems like everyone has a story on the free dining........
i don't know if the free dining is worth it for me. too much food and i would lose my AAA room discount then if i switched to a package.

all the speculation for the promos.....
i just know i have a room, some adrs in place and air taken care of so far.

 that's all i need now.
that and some warm dry weather

Hello Chicago! I hope everyone is doing okay and had a chance to enjoy the great weather we had over the weekend. We went to Dubuque to visit Christopher for his birthday, and had a scary :sad1: drive on Saturday in the fog, but a good visit with him and Sunday was just gorgeous.

To quote the famous MAC:

"happy belated birthday, no, it was happy birthday i was on time, cute little puppy, tigs is a cutey, yes siblings fight and they still do even when they turn 35, nice new furniture, sorry to the sickies, yea to the trippers, hersey used to be a chocolate bar now its a park, fun for a dis meet, movies are kewl, schedules listed, info on the motherland always a good thing, disney plays, disney shows, free dining, sore feet, coffee smells great, no extra bags, slo and the knees are duct taped"

I second the motion of what *she* said!!! And, yep, I also saw Sanjaya's hair on AI last night:scared1: ...you know, the kid really *can* sing...it's like he's not really trying:confused3 I honestly think he may just want to get off the show. He is certainly not the best singer, but if you really listen to him, he's not really that bad, either.

Hi to all, have a great day!

Hello!!

Spent the day running errands again.
Went to Walmart and they have cute Disney purses and messenger bags on sale for only $7!! :)

Becky Hope you and your son have fun at the museum!

Donna Driving in fog can be intense!! Glad you made it there safe!!

Mac You should the new, little quote button so you won't have to remember who or what you wanted to reply to! :thumbsup2

paintnolish We haven't been to Disneyland since 1999. And we can't wait to get back!! :yay:
Hope the kids have a good time with their dad!
How did the restaurant hunt go for you and DBF?

Mac I like your posts they make me laugh. I hope that ok

Donna One of the few New Year's I went out, was when we had that terrible fog. I lived in Lisle then in these apts that you had ponds on either side of the enterance. I could see out of the car I kept thinking any minute and splash.

Bunchkin I think I know why you little feet hurt. Do you ever just sit and rest?

Just want to share a link I found about Great America- the old Marriott's Great America, when Marriott owned it before Six Flags took over.
The stuff on this website is awesome!!
Here's the link www.greatamericaparks.com/index.html

Hope I put in the link right. This website shows old pics of the older rides ie. Turn of the Century roller coaster-before it turned into the Demon
The Edge ride. The cable cars, was called Southern Cross.

It sure brought back alot of childhood memories, as I remember going to Great America about a yr after it opened,1977 and on.
There's also media footage of old Mrriott's Great America commercials!
Hopefully most of you remember some of hte old rides and commercials too!
