jedi Yes, my life is one big headache lately!! :rotfl:

Tiggerrn What a cute puppy!! I thought the same as hersey, he looks tired!! :goodvibes

SamIAm Not many IMAX theatres showing it around here!!! :(
I guess we'll have to go out to Schererville too. At least it's easy to get to!

slo You're close to Schererville, will you guys be going to see Meet the Robinsons too??

macraven Feet are problematic as always! Grrr!! :sad2:
HOpe you are feeling better soon. Have you gone to the doctor yet? You might need an anitbiotic to kick that thing you've got to death!! ;)

Hersey What theatre are you going to?

We could make it a DISmeet for the movie!!! Saturday afternoon?
I'd be up for it.
Anyone else?
Yes, he does look sleepy in that pic. That's because it was the middle of the
afternoon!!! Take one at 2 in the morning and he's raring to go!!:rotfl: DS ran around the table with him for 30min tonight. I hope that keeps him sleepy for a bit.
In fact, he is sleeping now. Just came in from outside. So I should probably crash so I can get a few hours in before he wakes up to go out again.
Green lights out.
Mac, sure hope you are feeling better soon.
Sam, hope your headache has resolved. Hate those!!!
Nighty night!!

Saturday afternoon would work for me.
I have a Brownie Troop outing in the morning till approx 12:30ish.

Stephanie had such a good time with her playdate yesterday:banana: . The girls that came over are very sweet, and I really like their parents alot. The mom was grateful for me asking them over, because she didn't get home from work until 7am, and she was really tired :faint: This way she could get a little rest while they were at my house.

Today Stephanie has a dentist appointment.
She hasn't been a real good brusher lately, and I'm really curious on how her teeth are going to look. I guess we'll soon find out:rolleyes:

Helen - Thanks for letting me know where are you looking? I wish you lots and lots of luck :wizard:

Rose - The PT is going well, and I'm assuming it's working, because me knees are really sore:rolleyes: She moves my kneecap around so much like it's jelly in there. Then she tapes them in place, which is not very comfortable - but you gotta do what you gotta do (that's what I keep telling myself:rolleyes: ) Thanks for asking!!!!

Bunchkin - I hope your day got better yesterday. I hate it when days start out the way you described :headache:
**Stephanie loved the physical therapy yesterday!!!:) The therapist is really nice, and she would explain things to Steph on what she was doing. She didn't get to do anything, because Stephanie brought her new latch hook to work on, and she kept busy with that.

Sam - Your Welcome!!! I hope that headache mediciane works for you :wizard:
**I take Tylenol PM's with me when we go to Disney for the same reason as you. I learned this after ruining our first family vacation (for myself only) by not having any sleep, and having splitting headaches because of it.

mvazul - I'm glad you had a wonderful birthday :goodvibes Thanks for sharing your day with us!!!

mommaU4 - Welcome to our thread!!!!:welcome:
I'm glad mvazul gave you the link to here.
I'll have to stop by your thread later!!!! :)

Jedi & lajones & HERSEY - :wave2:

Tiggerrnnn - I just want to pick that puppy up and hug it!!!! :dog:
Tiggs is sooooooo cute!!!! :goodvibes Thanks for posting that picture!!!!

Mac- I'm sorry you are still sick :guilty: Sending alot more PD your way!!! :wizard:

About the movie Saturday - We would love to go!!! We weren't planning on going Saturday (I had no plans on when we were going actually), and this would be great :thumbsup2 !!!!! We'll have to decide on a time!!!

Wow, it's really raining outside :umbrella:
I sure wish we didn't have to go out this morning, because I would like to climb back into bed for awhile.

But, since I can't, I guess I should go take a shower - showers are good!!!! :)

Have a good day everyone!!

BOO HOO I have plans for Saturday I can't go to the movies in the afternoon.:sad2: I was planning on going to the theater in St Charles that's close to me.

Tiggerrn2 Hopefully Tiggs slept for you last night.

slo I'm glad Stephanie had fun with her friends.

I want our warm back :sunny:

Good Wednesday morning, everyone!! It certainly is a rainy one out there today! :umbrella:

Mac - how are you feeling? DH and I both had the flu at the same time 3 weeks ago. It lasted about a week and half for each of us. The first week, all I could manage to do was sleep. I was thankful to be living with my MIL at that point since DH and I both got hit at the same time. At least the kids were still fed! ;) Thankfully, neither of the kids got it. I hope you're feeling better very soon.

I wish we were able to join all of you at the movies this weekend, but I have a ton of errands to do. DS is having his First Communion at the Easter Vigil Mass and my family will be here that weekend. I need to find a shirt and tie for DS and a new dress for me. Plus, I haven't even started to find things for the kids' Easter baskets yet. I normally have that done by now. :headache:

Also, I'm still trying to find odds and ends to put a "Welcome to Chicago" basket together for my fmaily. I was able to find two very good maps of the city. One has all of the landmarks mapped out on Michigan Avenue. They are staying downtown and want to do some shopping, so I thought that would work well for them. The other map will actually help them get from their hotel to our house. I thought that might come in handy!! ;) I also picked up 4 Chicago mugs and a few skyline magnets. I think I will try to get some Garrett's popcorn, too. popcorn:: I will have to do that the morning they arrive. I am so excited about them coming to visit!! :woohoo:

Okay, I will stop now before I really start rambling!! :lmao: Have a great day!! :goodvibes

Oh, I completely forgot...I was wondering if any of you could give me some Disney advice. If any of you can help, I would greatly appreciate it! :thanks:

I posted this yesterday on the Welcome to the DIS board:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1400723

Hi, everyone!! :wave2:

I hope I'm posting in the right spot. If not, please move it to the appropriate board.

Okay, I am trying to plan an all girl trip for myself, my mom and my sister for the last week of August. We would arrive on Saturday, August 25th, and leave Thursday, August 30th. This will be my mother's first trip to WDW. I think my sister has been once, but only to the Magic Kingdom for a couple hours (she was in Orlando on business). This will be the first time for any of us to stay on property. :dance3:

I am planning to make all of the arrangements except their airfare. We need to fly from 3 different airports. Should I go through disneyworld.com, AAA, call Disney direct or go through a travel agent. Whichever way I do it, I need to be able to make a deposit and pay on it over the next couple months. Can Disney send the ME stuff to three different addresses?

Do any of you have any pictures of the rooms at All Star Music? How are their suites? Do any of you have pictures of the suites? We will not be spending too much time in the room - just to sleep and get showered. Would a standard room be enough room for us? I was thinking about doing a moderate, but I really like the cost of a value. Would you recommend one value over another? We just want/need clean, comfortable and affordable. Do they have internet connection in the room? If so, is it high speed or dial-up? Do they have wireless capabilities?

I have been seeing rumors about free DDP if booked during a certain time period. Have any of these rumors been confirmed or denied? If they are offering it, how would we get it? Do we just book during their timeline and it is automatically included? If they are not offering it, we will not get the DDP, but we will still go to WDW at the time I mentioned. The free DDP isn't a deal breaker for us, but it would be icing on the cake!! ;)

The only two times I have been there, DH and I traveled with no plans or expectations. The first time, we only had time to do MK. On our last trip, we did Epcot and MK. This trip, the three of us will do all four parks. Is there anything I should get for my mother and sister to help them get prepared for the trip? Is there anything I should get for myself to make the planning easier?

How are the crowds the last week of August? I wanted to go the middle of September or the first week of December, but my sister was just accepted into a doctorate program and will be in school those times. I don't want to go any earlier, because I know it will definitely be very crowded.

Also, if something happens that they can't go, can I change my reservations from 3 adults to 2 adults and 2 cildren? Actually, I think it would be 3 adults and 1 child (DS will be 13 then and DD will still be 5). I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but in case it does, I would like to take DH and the kids instead. DH said he's so happy to know they are my "backup plan"!! :rotfl:

Okay, I know I have more questions, but that's all I can think of for now. I would appreciate any help you can give me. TIA!! :flower3:

~M

Morning all.
Hersey, we did finally get some sleep last night. After 45 minutes of his crying, we moved his crate into our room and he settled down and went to sleep for 5 hours. He's eating more now and much more playful. I think he finally is getting over his loss of litter mates and getting used to us being his family. Next week he'll be lost again. Kids go back to school and I work all day Monday. I have a neighbor coming to let him out a couple times that day, but it won't be the same for him.
mvazul, check out the resorts board. They have pictures and lots of info about the resorts. And compare everything from food courts to pools.
The last week of August won't be as crowded as mid-summer. Some of the schools will be back in session. But it will be hot!!! Make sure you plan for some airconditioned shows/restaurants during the heat of the day-especially at Animal Kingdom. There isn't much there out of the heat of the day. Lots of shade, but that doesn't help the humidity. My mom and I used to always go the first 3 weeks in August (stayed on the beach and spent a few days at the MK) and it was hot!!!
Well, I'm going back to bed for a bit. Kids are up with the puppy so I can go sleep. NOT. But at least close my eyes. Then shower and start my day.

Can we pay someone to bring the sun back??
;)

slo Yesterday my day just got busier. I have a lot to get done before we leave for vacation!!
Hope Stephanie's dental check up goes well! :teeth:

That's great that you can make it to the movie on Saturday!
Does the 1:40pm show work for you?

hersey Sorry you can't make it to the movie!!! :(

mvazul That's a TON of questions in one post!!! :rotfl:
IMO, I think you'd get a better response if you broke those questions up in relation to each board they pertain to.
Are you responsible for booking the airfare for your family?
I would book direct with WDW for the room package and do the air separate.
All your docs and ME info will be sent to the person who paid. You can then distribute the ME tickets to your family. Give them a copy of the reservation as well, it will have their names on it too since they ask for all the names of whose going to be staying in the room.
ASMusic Suites look nice and they do have extra beds and 2 bathrooms. So that would be convenient for getting ready in the morning and such.
There are several threads with info and pics about the suites on the Resort Boards.
DDP is rumored to happen, and it probably will. Again several posts about it as well on the Restaurant/Code Board. Info will probably officially announced on April 12th.
You will have to request it from reservation at the time of booking. There is usually a special code to tie in with the offer. The DIS and Mousesavers.com will have the code when it is released.
Not sure of what you mean by "preparing' your family and yourself for the trip?
Do you mean as in a guide book so they can learn more about the parks?
I would go with Passporter. And the official Birnbaum guide is good too.
August will be really freaking humid, so be prepared. Mister fans, lots of water, take breaks out of the heat.

Tiggerrn Glad the puppy slept for a bit last night!!
Was the 1:40pm movie time good for you?

Q.O.T.D

My mother in-law has asked me to bring a couple bags of their favorite coffee with us when we go see them. I guess they can't get it by them!:confused3
It's 2 big 8 o'clock coffee bags from Sam's Club. Even if I put them into large Ziploc bags don't you think our luggage and it's contents will still smell like coffee????
This would be my biggest fear as I and DH can't stand coffee!!! :scared:
:rotfl:
What do ya think??

Bunchkin, I think your luggage WILL smell like coffee! I've traveled with coffee so I know (I dont' even drink it, I was bringing some back from Puerto Rico once for someone) Do you have a smaller duffel back that you can check and just use that for the coffee? Then you'll have that bag to bring souveniers back :goodvibes

I see your trip is coming up FAST!! Are you a California Screamin and Space Mountain fan?? If so, you'll love that they have added special music for both until the end of April. Both have Red Hot Chili Peppers songs! My favorite was Higher Ground, which is played on Space Mountain

I agree! I want the sun back.

I do think it will smell like coffee. I don't drink it but could tolerate the smell. I like the idea of a seperate duffel bag or maybe bring some Febreeze? to get the smell out afterward????????? :confused3 I don't know that's all I came up with.

Thank you sooo much for your response!! I think I will take your advice and break up the questions. I just thought it might be easier for me to follow if it was all wrapped into one post.

Now to answer your questions back to me...

No, I am not taking care of their airfare. They will have to do that themselves. I will take care of booking the room and getting tickets.

As far as preparing DM and DSis, yes, I meant about what to expect at the parks. Also, I want them to kind of have an idea of what is there ahead of time so they can have some input on what we do. I don't want to have to make all of the decisions and find out later there was something they wanted to see or do. Thank you for the suggestions on the books!

Yes, I know it will be very hot and humid. It's not exactly the time of year I would pick for myself, but I have to take into consideration the schedules of Mom and my sister. Right now, my mother is between jobs (she and her husband just moved), so if we plan a date she can let her employer know as soon as she starts. My sister is starting back to school in September. She is enrolled in a Doctorate program. So, she is the one we really need to work around. I wanted to go in September, but she will just be starting school. I looked at the first week of December, but she will have mid-terms two weeks later. I want to go during "off-peak" season and the end of August fit into that.

I thought about waiting until the end of January/beginning of February, again, but I don't want to wait that long!! ;) With my family, I need to get them to go sooner rather than later. If they have time to think about it, they find reasons to not go. That's also part of the reason I am paying for it. This way all thye have to worry about is getting there. Plus, if they do decide to back out, I can change my reservations and take DH and the kids instead. (I think.) :rolleyes1

Thank you, again, for your help!!! :flower3:

jedi Yes, I think I have a small bag I can check with the coffee. I was trying to aviod extra bags as it is hard enough to get around the airport with 2 kids, the stroller, a car seat and already 4 bags!!! :rotfl:
Ahhh, I remembered Lauren has a small Cinderella suitcase she
no longer uses because it's way to small for her now. I think I'll make that the 'Coffee Suitcase'!!

And as much as I love the RHCP I will NOT be on either of those rides!!!:rotfl:
I'm sure Tony and Lauren will go on them!!

I agree! I want the sun back.

I do think it will smell like coffee. I don't drink it but could tolerate the smell. I like the idea of a seperate duffel bag or maybe bring some Febreeze? to get the smell out afterward????????? :confused3 I don't know that's all I came up with.

I was thinking a separate bag, too, for the coffee. That way you have an extra bag in case you need it for the trip home. I don't drink coffee but love the smell of it, so I wouldn't have a problem. ;)

I do have a mini-can of Oust I got from Target, so I can spray the bag after I get the coffee delivered! :thumbsup2

I just hate having extra bags!!!!

Plus we are renting a car to go to the airport and one for the way back so we don't have to leave our conversion van at the airport (don't want things missing from it when we get back 11 days later!!!!) so I'm trying to watch how much we will bring based on room in the rental car.

That's great that you can make it to the movie on Saturday!
Does the 1:40pm show work for you?

Tiggerrn Glad the puppy slept for a bit last night!!
Was the 1:40pm movie time good for you?

Just to make sure, the movie is at 1:45 right at the Kerasotes 12 in Schererville. I know it's only 5 minutes, but I want to make sure I have the right show! I bought my tickets on line through Fandango cause there's no way I'm going to miss this one!! I even have the print out that lists it as Auditorium 10. Woohoo!
