Winter is back. I think I heard it raining ice last night but at least that was all gone this morning.

I *KNEW* it would be though. I knew the warm-up was just a teaser. I'm finally learning and Mother Nature can't fool me just yet (until it snows in June. Then I get baffled.)

I've decided the DIS is a really expensive place to hang out. Not even counting the Disney vacation costs. It's always making me go spend money.

First it was the Shamrock Shake thread so had to go buy one of "them there shakes".

NOW...it's the Custom Disney Clothes thread on the Family Board -- it inspired me with some of their neat clothes, so what do I do this morning? I run out to Jo-Ann's to pick up some CARS fabric. I got that & some Thomas fabric. I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do but I think make a couple shirts for the little guy & then do something with the left-overs. I don't know how to do applique but I keep thinking I want to learn.

In that thread it mentions a website of "youcanmakethis" which they have these really cool fabric pinecone ornaments that I now want to make for Christmas.

I'm hoping to make it to the bowling meet but not sure yet.

Slo- so glad to hear that your knee will get better with physical therapy! Glad it isn't anything worse.

Debbie- did you say in one of your posts that your DH is doing jury duty at the Dirksen Federal building? I can't remember, is he picked as a jurur or is he an alternate? I keep hearing on the news lately of some guy named Conrad Black is going on trial and they are supposed to be picking jurors for that trial at the Dirksen Federal building in downtown Chicago.This Conrad Black dude is some kind of real estate mogul in Canada and the UK. Not sure why the trial would be here I guess he resides somewhere in Cook county I suppose Never heard of this dude until a couple of days ago.
I did hear on the news today that Donald Trump will be called as witness for this guy I do like Trump tho.

Leigh- when are you exactly moving to your townhome? Are you planning on having a housewarming party and invite us Disers? Just wondering.....

I hear you loud and clear!! I lived in VA and NC for 5+ years before moving to Chicago. I grew up in PA and lived a couple years in MN, so I know what winters can be like. However, I got used to the southern weather very easy. DH said it was 80 today in the town where we lived in NC.

We have been joking about moving to FL. I think we're getting more serious about it the longer we talk about it and the longer the cold weather hangs on!!

Thank you for asking! Yes, I started yesterday. It is going well so far. I am only doing part time yesterday, today and tomorrow. The mom is still on maternity leave. I start full time next Tuesday. I think the wee one and I are going to get along well. She isn't on much of a schedule yet, but we're going to work on that!

The hardest part I am having problems adjusting to is not being home with my kids. DS is 12 and in 7th grade, so he isn't too much of the issue. It's DD. She is only 5 and in pre-school. She only goes Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to noon. I will be working Tuesdays through Fridays 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. DD usually goes to bed around 7:30, so I'm not going to have much time with her at all anymore. And as I think about it, I'm starting to tear up. It's hard.

Oh well. It is fairly easy work and good money. We definitely need the money right now. I am dying to move out of my MIL's house!! We have been here since June and I can't get out of here soon enough. I love her dearly and want to move while I still like her!! I can suck it up for now and be a nanny. Hopefully my photo business will eventually pick up one of these days and I can work from home, again.

I guess that is probably alot more than what you were asking for!! Sorry about that! Again, thanks for asking!

hey mvazul, we share a lot of things here on the chgo thread. i'm glad you feel comfortable enough to share with us.

i know it is very hard to work and leave our own kids with others. you have a goal, so you just have no other choice. get the money, find a place of your own for the family and still love mother in law......

summer will be the hardest time to be working. i always hated that.

i took 6 years off of work and went back when the youngest was in 1st grade.
the child care costs for me was a killer. i had to quit. i had 3 kids under the age of 4 and i could not justify working for child care cost.

hang in there. it might turn out okay.

I have to go to the dealer this morning because my one sliding door won't slide, and there's a constant beeping because of it (it drove me crazy coming home from work yesterday. Plus, I gave up music in the car for Lent, and therefore it really bugged me in the silence). mvazul - Hugs to you Being a working mom can be hard at times (I've always worked with kids, and I had some very hard times with it) But, with a goal in mine (getting out of MIL's) it will hopefully get easier instead of harder. We are always here for you if you want to talk. We've all gotten each other threw some tough times

I am freezing again too! What a teeze we had earlier this week!!!! I can't wait until it's like that again!

mvazul Good luck with your new venture. I have been reevaluating our finances and will have to come up with something for money if I want to keep doing these WDW trips!!!

I have KIND OF have a similiar situation as you but also very different. My family and I live in an in-law house but it is with my parents. We love it! I always feel old fashioned like this is how they used to live back in the day. My Mom and I are extremely close and my DH is VERY laid back and so this is why it works. Of course I understand how the situation could be much different. First it's my side of the family and second when we had to do an addition we moved downstairs WITH my parents for a few months and it was hell!! There is one thing about sharing a house and it's a whole different story when you share a flat!!!
Are you in an in-law or just a regular place? I was just wondering if you had privacy because that is the key.
Also...
Your siggie is confusing me (not hard to do) . Should you be in WDW right now? I'm just looking at the March date.

Happy Friday everyone!!

I've been so busy around the house the past couple of days.
I have the Spring Cleaning bug I think.

Tonight I have a brownie troop meeting. It should be a lot of fun, we are working on crafts.
Unfortunately, my co-leader is bringing her sons with. Maybe some of you remember me saying how her sons are wild and uncontrollable...and how she never makes them settle down!! .....and how they put peanut butter all over the powder room cabinets last time they were here!!!!

I have my duct tape and stun gun ready!!!!
