DMM ~ Wow that had to be scary. We will help bug you about the drinking too!

Hi all!! :wave2:

Thundering and raining here!!! :yay:

slo I remember you saying you were taking Steph to AGP as a birthday trip!! Way cool!! She will have a great time there!! Have you had lunch there before?? If not, they have a sample menu on line you can check out! Lauren loves eating there!! She says it's the fanciest place she's ever eaten at!! :rotfl: When is Steph's b-day? I don't remember if you told me the date.

I forgot to mention that I was able to return the shirt I bought Lauren. They were really nice about it in fact. And I was able to pick up a top that wasn't there the last time I was in, it goes with a skirt we bought!!! And the best part was it was marked down big time....I only paid $6.50 total!

Tiggerrn Hope your busy week doesn't wear you out!!! Take it slow!!!! ;)

Michelle We are staying over on Friday night. We booked our room LAST summer when I first found out about the sale!!! :rotfl: There are lots of other things to do there like the auction and Giada's Craft tent.
Keep on drinking that water all day long.:thumbsup2

piglet What kind of horse is your DD learning to ride on?

traces7 The free trolleys are great!! We just rode one the other week.
Here's more info on the trolley: Click the link for info and maps!

hahah! go figure! we figured there would be a lot to do that day as opposed in the AM, so we will check in saturday morning and DH and the kids will stay there and then i'm off to the tent sale. I'm hoping my MIL will join me, but who knows!

DMM ~ Wow that had to be scary. We will help bug you about the drinking too!

it was verrry scary! I was hurting bad adn screaming and crying and since i'm a bit over 6months, i knew it was too early and Dh was freaking out too.

Michele Take care of that little one and your self. This heat is nothing to play with. I didn't drink enough water when I was prego with ALex and I had Kidney stones because of it. That was soooo not fun.

We will be that nagging voice in your ear. GOT WATER will be you new montra. ;)

Bunchkin They must have know how much $$ we all drop in the disney stores, that's why they did give you a hard time.

We had a small amount of pouring rain and thundering less than yesterday.:confused3 I wonder if we are going to get more.

Good evening all!!! Looks like the big thunderstorm has already come and gone here. All of 10 minutes.:rotfl2: With DS freaking out for all 10 of them.:sad2: I'm beginning to think he will never get over his fear of storms ever since that tornado drill.

DMM wish I'd said something to you sooner!! What good is a labor nurse if she doesn't dish out timely advice.

Bunchkin, thanks for the worry. Got my referrals in order to see the ortho again on Thursday. I am praying hard for good news so we can continue with our vacation plans. If I can just be a little weight-bearing, we will go for it. I don't want to be worrying every time I get on or off a ride that I could bump it into more trouble. Keep thinking good thoughts for me.

Mac, how are the boys?

Slo, Kellie loves going to the AG store and eating there as well. The tea time is a little cheaper, and the finger sandwiches were pretty good. We didn't have a reservation, but put our name on a walk-up list and got in no problem. Hope Steph has a great birthday there. Kellie was just telling me yesterday when the new catalog came that she just "has to get Nikki" "she's only here for 1 year" These girls.:rotfl2: They must think money grows on trees. :lmao: Sounds like my parents.

Well, better run off to do some :laundy: and prop my foot up to see if I'm smarter than a 5th grader!!! Later all.

Morning..:surfweb:

MAC that is a lot of driving..especially to McHenry. there is no easy way to get there from your house or do you take 120?

i take
from grand ave, 120 to out there.
its the best way from where i am.

AUGHH!! thanks so much for this, just wish it was earlier! hahaah! Last weekend, i was doubling over from contractions...we had been out garage saleing all day...well needless to say a trip to the OB did make it clear that i had to drink all day even if i wasn't thirst ESP. In this heat! :faint: (i never knew!!) well Doc was able to get everything under control and now DH drives me crazy all day every day calling me and IMing me to make sure i have a bottle of water in my hand! haha!!

michelle, that is scary. take care of you and baby and drink lots of water.

Michele

no rain for us yesterday or today yet.
i'm still hoping for rain.

Mac, how are the boys?

.

maybe when son gets older the storms won't be as scary for him.
i know that is hard for you.

son that has been sick since friday still very sick. took him to the internist this afternoon and doc thinks an infection has set in the stomach area. never heard of that. doc said it has to be a bacterial type of flu to go on this long. picked up mucinex, saline spray and a prescription for the z pak.

today was the first day he got out of bed and was wiped up for the drive and wait at the doc office. he still is not eating yet but the doc said that is okay for now. he's lost 10 lbs.

surgery son still healing.

i'll be glad when that one stops complaining.......:rotfl2:
he gets real cranky when he is in pain

i'm having some test early tomorrow morning at L.F.
the only thing that will bad with that is the traffic on 41 at 6:45 in the morning.

you all have a great evening!

My employee closed the store by herself yesterday - it felt really good being able to leave and not come back. I'm going to really miss her when she leaves for school in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can talk her into going to the local college instead so she can stay home and work for me:rolleyes:

We didn't get much rain yesterday :sad2: I was really disappointed!! It sure did look nasty around here for awhile, and our tornado siren even went off, but then it blew over. We had a couple claps of thunder, but that was it.

traces - I wish I could help you with your question, but I don't know  I would also see what the weather brings. If it's a really nice day, then I would leave time for the water taxi - I think that sounds really nice :goodvibes

geffric & bigben - :wave2:

piglet - That is so funny that I didn't know what you mean :rotfl2: I feel a little embarrassed , but I find it more funny!!

DMM - I haven't seen Rmom in a very very long time :sad2: If should see her elsewhere on The DIS, tell her to stop in and say HI!!

Bunchkin - Stephanie's actual bday is Sunday, July 22nd. We are doing the AG Store on the 15th because we are having her family bday party on the 22nd. I told her that I would wrap up the new doll and let her open it on her party, but I don't think she's going to want to do that:rolleyes:
**That's great to do know that Lauren enjoys eating there, because then I know that Stephanie won't be disappointed. Kevin did look at the menu online, and he thought the lunch menu was better than the dinner menu :)
**I'm glad you were able to return the shirt with no problem. That's great you were able to get the other one to match the skirt :thumbsup2

HERSEY - Kidney stones when you were pregnant  That had to been awful!!

Tiggerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrn - Stephanie wants Nikki too, but I'm apprehensive because of her curly hair. We haven't had much luck with Samantha's hair, and I have to keep it french braided all the time to keep it managable (I'm taking her to the salon at The AG Store to see how I can keep it from becoming like a birds nest. I talk like this is my doll  I call myself the doll fairy, and when Stephanie goes to school I take the doll and change her clothes into something differnt, do her hair real nice, and put her on her doll stand to surprise Steph when she comes home. She loves it when I do this!!).
**I just told Stephanie the other day we didn't have a money tree in the backyard. Then I stopped and thought how I sound exactly like my mother when I was a kid :rotfl:
**Stephanie really freaks out at thunderstorms too, and she started to last night. I told her that she has to stay calm, because it scares her sister, and then I explained to her that during scary times, we all have to stay calm to make good decisions. I told her that when we freak out, we may make bad decisions that could put us in danger or hurt us. I also told her that if we aren't scared, then she doesn't need to be scared. She seemed to understand, and she calmed down alot :thumbsup2 Now we'll see what happens when the next storm rolls around
**Good luck at the Ortho tomorrow :wizard: I hope he gives you very good news.

Mac - I'm so sorry to hear about your boys not doing well:guilty: I will keep them in my prayers, and I'll send alot more PD their way :wizard: Good luck with your test today - I hope that goes well for you:wizard:

Well, I'm off and running
Have a great day today everyone!!

Hey, are we talking AG again! Love it!! Slo, Megan has Nikki and her hair is very nice and comes with a net around it. The curls are not hard to deal with at all. I would imagine if you brushed and brushed them, it might get hard to manage, but if you just sort of use your fingers to put the curl pieces back together, it works fine. Megan has had no trouble with her at all.

Well, it's been really busy here at work and I've been really tired after work, so I haven't stopped by lately. Megan is going on a field trip today at Navy Pier. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I always get so worried she'll be lost or something. I'm like a duck, I look calm, cool and collected on the surface, but underneath, I'm paddling like crazy (or worrying). :rotfl:

Tiggerrn... what are we going to do with you and that ankle? ;) I hope you get the news you want from the Ortho.

Bunchkin! What's new? Getting ready for that trip to Wisconsin. I might have to think about that for next year. Sounds like it could be a costly proposition though. Not nearly as costly as buying it all retail though HUH!

Traces: That free trolley is really cute and looks like fun to ride, but I have no idea the length of time it would take as I'm sure it makes stops here and there throughout the Loop! I would try Googling Chicago Trolley, see if you can find a phone number and ask them what the average time is. One of these days, I'm going to be a tourist in my own town, it sounds like fun!

Bunchkin ~ She is riding at Nova Quarter Horse in Mokena. She has ridden 3-4 diffferent horses there, not sure what "type" they all are. She does ride on a western style saddle though. After only 7 lessons, she is managing to ride quite well, and remembers to post most of the time when her horse is trotting. The other girl that she started with is still only walking for most of the lesson. Yesterday, the instructor even had Lauren dismount on her own. Not a bad feat for a five year old, I think. The instructor told my sister (DN rides there too) that she may be ready to move up to beginners soon. (She is in a "pee-wee" class that is for 5 and under, I think she may have to wait until she is 6 to move up though)

Michelle ~ Are you drinking your water?? I went into pre-term labor with my DD, who is my third kid, at 29 weeks. They too were able to stop them with medication. It was very scary so I can understand the feelings.

Mac ~ I am glad to hear the one son is doing better. But so scary that the other one is still so sick. How long is the doctor willing to wait this out? Does he have the extra weight to be losing? My oldest (who is 13 today!!!) is thin, but could handle losing 10-15 pounds. My DS8 is only 49 pounds, so losing much of anything is not good. Do you think your son should see a GI specialist? I can give you the name of the one DS* saw last summer, if you want, but I don't recall where you are. He is out of Loyola and has offices in Oak Brook too.

Slo ~ I thought it was funny too, no need to be embarassed.

Good Wednesday Morning all!!!

slo I don't think Steph is going to let you get away with wrapping up her doll once she has it in her hot little hands!!! :rotfl:
We've eaten at every meal at AG Place and we like lunch and the tea the best!! :thumbsup2
Glad you got to go home early from work!!! :goodvibes

piglet Sounds like your DD is doing really well at riding!! That's great!!! :)
Does she go at the same time as her cousin?

Sam Yes, we're excited about going to the AG sale. I already printed out all kinds of maps I need!! AND got up the courage to tell my mom that she is NOT driving!!! :rotfl:
You should go next year. The prices are much lower then retail and it goes towards a good cause too. I think it would make an excellent girls only trip!! ;) :)
If all goes well and we enjoy it, I will probably book another hotel room for next year when we get back, just like we did last summer when we found out about the sale. Rooms book quickly!!
I hope Megan has a great time at Navy Pier today!!! I wonder what all they will be doing!!! Good thing the weather is nice!!! :goodvibes
When did Megan get Nikki??? I got to come over and take a good look at her..Nikki that is!!!! :rotfl:

traces We took the free trolley from the Field Museum to the train station with several stops in between and the ride was rather quick. The longest wait is for the actual trolley to arrive itself. They come at certain intervals. Check the web site I linked, they have all the info.:)

Gotta run!!! Lots to do today.
My mom is coming over later, I need to run to the grocery store because I forgot to buy bread yesterday!!!, and I'm helping my neighbor to hand out more fliers about our block party!!! I also need to order the bounce jump for the block party today.

Have a great day all!!!!!!! :sunny:

Dropping in again... I see you are talking AG... HAs anyone done the princess tea at the GF and if so, how do those dolls compare to AG? I wanted to do the tea this DEC but since we live so close to chicago and AG store....thought once my girls get there tea dolls, we could go to the AG store to shop... I know both dolls are the same size but I don't want my girls to be disappointed with there tea doll compared to AG....KWIM

Bunchy, hope your heart is doing better!
Sandy, have how nice to not have to go to the store!

I have my bottle of water almost done! (DH is about to come home for lunch, so I have to have it done by then!)
I SWEAR i am going to float away!

MAC, how is the fam doing?? hugs to all!

have a good one everyone, I have to get the chicken off the grill for our chicken ceasar salads!

oak brook is kind of far from me. i'm in zion.
sick son with bacterial infection just woke up again. i gave him mucinex last night and he coughed all night. no fever and i hope the zpak does the trick. doc said if he is not better in one week to bring him back.
we are on day 7 with this. he can afford to lose weight. he is built like his mother....:rotfl2:

hey homie michelle. not good. i live with sickies...........and it's a worry.
oldest had the tonsils removed 10 days ago and still having problems.
he saw the doc yesterday and was told he can't return to work until july 24
he is going to move in with us this weekend. he needs some help.
i think because he is older the recovery is longer. most people have the tonsils removed as children.

how's baby #3 (to be) doing now?

good to see you.

your his adopted mom right? Not nice to talk about his biological mom behind her back ;)

Hope all get well soon.

Michelle Your such a good wife grilled chicken for lunch :thumbsup2

Bunchkin: Megan got Nikki for her birthday while we were in Branson. You are welcome to stop by any time and see her. I thought I mentioned it here before, but I guess not? Nikki and Megan's Just Like Me Doll (that she named Emily) look a lot a like. The only difference really is the hair. So, it's sort of cute because the dolls look like they could be sisters. I wanted to brain the kid though because I got her the Nikki Starter kit which comes with several outfits and Nikki's dog, Sprocket. First thing she asked, where's the horse? If I had asked that as a child, I would have had the doll taken away from me. Some gratitude!

Megan's camp is celebrating Carnival Week (each week of camp has a theme) and so they are going to Navy Pier to Pier Park (a small amusement park).

Has anyone tried to join the AG bulletin boards. I applied and then received a questionairre that I had to fill out explaining my intents and purposes for wanting to join the board?? I was a little put off by that and decided against it. I can understand in this day and age being careful about who posts what, but this was like a five question inquiry. I don't need to chat about dolls that bad. Sheesh!

Hi all! Just a drive by, as I am at the library! No home internet yet! Things are going great and I hope you are all doing well. Hope to be a regular here again soon!

Hey all. What a great day!!! This weather is wonderful. Windows all open. Fresh air!!!:thumbsup2
DS is at a sleepover birthday party. His first one. We shall see if I get a phone call before 10PM. They went mini golfing and then out for pizza dinner and then have some games at the house. He was quite excited.
DD and I went to the library for the afternoon. There was a Mystery program for her to do. Next week they have an AG Mystery program. She is excited about that one. Then we went out for ice cream. Nice mom/daughter day.

Hi Paint. Are you all settled in yet? Hope to see you back here more often as well.

Mac, sending you more :wizard: :wizard: I think you really need it there. How did your MD appt. go?

DMM you can come here to cook for me if you'd like. I'd love a grilled chicken ceasar for lunch!!;) Remember at least 64 oz of that lovely water a day in addition to your other fluids.:boat:

Sam, I know just what you mean about these kids. Nothing is ever enough. DD just today was back on her cell phone kick. I told her, when she has a job to pay the cell phone bill, she can get a cell phone. Then she said, well then I'll just get the Nintendo DS instead. And she was all over Nikki and that horse. At the AG store, I looked at that crazy horse, and it is covered by a stockinette type material that apparently must get dirty quite easily. The one in the case looked awful already. For the $$ you pay, it should be easy to wash, but I don't think you can wash it. When I was a kid, no way would my parents have ever spent that kind of cash on a doll and it's accessories. (of course, when I was a kid, I never would've wanted that doll stuff.:rolleyes1 ) Closest I came to barbies/dolls was the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman figures to play with. Da Da Da Da, Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da.(need musical notes here.):rotfl2:
Sam, I should've stayed home that night like I wanted and the ankle would be just fine.:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Slo, that is some good reassurance you gave. I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for the good wishes. Ankle has been feeling pretty good the past two days. I don't think I'm ready for the races yet, but on my way!!!!

Well, better run (oh, that's right, I'll hobble) and get dinner fixed. Talk to you all later.

Well, I played the good daughter today and had my mom over to help her get new internet service and to sign her up for Directv too. She cancelled all her services through Comcast because she was sick of the prices and the lack of service. Can't blame her! So we surfed the net here for a good deal and I hooked her up. She tried to get my younger sister to help her do all this, as it's not her forte, but younger sis has no patience to weed through and explain everything.

sam I didn't see Nicki at your house the other week!!?? Must have missed her!! Shucks!! And I know Lauren would have liked to look at her too. Not as if she doesn't have enough of her own to gander at....but of course she's always looking to acquire more!! ;) :)

Is the AG bulletin boards part of the official AG site? Because I haven't seen it there.
There used to be a AG Club. Lauren was a member. It was a lot of fun. You could earn points on line doing activities, reading AG books and all kinds of other things. With the points you could buy AG stuff. They even had a 1st annual Club brunch. Unfortunately it never made it to the second annual!!! :sad2:

Tiggerrn Glad your feeling a little better!!
My DD wants a Nintendo DS for her birthday! She already has a cell phone, the Firefly! But she's good with it, only takes it with her when she goes out. That way I can keep in touch with her.

Paint Good to see you stop in!!! Hope you all settling in!! :)

Good morning, all...quick post & then off to get ready for work!

Mac...I am keeping you & your family in my thoughts...sounds like you all have had some rough times lately. Hang in there, homie!:grouphug:

Hersey..Thanks for explaining about the French market. We have what they call a Farmer's Market every Sat morning, but I guess it would be more appropriate to call this one a French Market, as well, since it has a LOt more than just fruits & vegetables (pictures, jewelry, crafts, etc.) In fact, when we went recently, they even had a sign saying the farmer's market type stuff was coming later in the summer as it was not *ready* yet?? (just one booth with tomatoes at the very end of the block!)

Bunchkin/DMM...I hope you get some great bargains at the American Girl sale! How far away is Madison? Michelle, drink your water!!! :)

Slo...I think it's wonderful your employee is working out so well!

Tiggern...I hope your ankle continues to heal okay...I *feel* your hobble!

Geffric...you asked me ages ago what we tried at the Taste...just the usual summer stuff, you know, corn on the cob, hot dogs, etc...except I tried some toasted ravioli...it was kind of strange, never had that before!:confused3 (and wouldn't really go out of my way to have it again!)

Hi to ALL of Chicagoland, including any lurkers...hope everyone has a great day today...it looks beautiful outside right now!!!:thumbsup2
