Good for you, SamIam! :cool1:

I LOVE my flat screen plasma tv :worship:
I was pretty po'd when dh bought it last year, but now I love it. When he moved recently, I fought for that thing, and I won! :thumbsup2

Can't type too much, I have one eye swollen shut. That's what happens when I'm allergic to cats but I was around one tonight that was just too adorable for me not to play with

Anyone remember way back in October or so when I said I was going to attempt to make my DD a dress for Patriot's day at school that happens this month?

Great job!

A:goodvibesAll is OK this AM. I hope the same for you guys. It's my DH's Birthday so I guess I will be nice to him today.:rotfl2: We will go out to dinner later. He must feel better too since he played cards last night. I'm letting him sleep now even though the kids are being kind of loud.

Have a great Saturday everyone!
I'm still not sick so I am VERY happy about that.
Thanks for the well wishes for my fam.
Debbie

Rose Sorry I have a friend's daughter that just starting brownies that I promised, one of Alex's friends is a girl scout and from work. I think this year I am going to be overwhelmed with cookies.

Debbie6221 Glad you're not a beast.

jedi_librarian What is with men and their toys?:rolleyes1 Glad you got custody of the plasma tv  One day I'm going to get one those too. :happytv:

Tiggerrn2 Have fun at Ikea I haven't made it over there since before summer it feels like forever. I love that place.

Good Morning Chicagoland!!! I see a peek of sun every once in awhile. Took DD to ballet practice. It's a bit chilly today, but if the sun shines, I'm good with it. Going to Orland shopping this afternoon. DD wants to spend those gift cards at Limited Too.
DH and son are gone to the soccer game. Very quiet here this AM. So nice!!!
Mac-great videos. I had a look at a few others while I was there. Love to see that party. Missed the Villians Mix and Mingle when we were there, so it was cool to see it.
Jedi-hope you are OK this morning. Benedryl!!! What kind of plasma do you have? We may have to buy a new TV. Ours is nearly 15 years old (although 5 of those it was not watched.) and DH couldn't figure out the sound problem last night.
Becky-nice job on the dress.
Debbie hope you all stay well.:cake: Happy BDay to your DH
RoseMarie, if you didn't live so far, I'd buy some from you. My DD isn't in a troop this year since we switched schools and our group was separated.
Well, have a good day all. I'll check in tonight.
Hope Sandy and Nicole are having nice weather and a good time.
Oh, and SamIAm-:thumbsup2 way to go on booking a minitrip. I think you should take us all along.

Hersey- thanks for letting me know :)

Debbie- happy birthday to your DH :cake: :bday:

Tiggerrn :wave2:

Goodmorning Chicagoland! I hope I can keep up with everyone in this post.

Saw more welcomes from Sk8leigh, Roseprincess, Tiggerrn2, Debbie6221, & Becky2005. THANKS!!!

SamIam- I am sure Morris' Holiday parade was lacking...LOL I lived there for over a decade and think that town is a bit of joke IMO. I like it but I don't. They held out business growth there for so long that the town is sorely lacking in a whole!

Becky2005- I know where Geneva is too. Been shopping there a long time ago. I went to highschool in Morris for 1 1/2 yrs. I wasn't into sports then, though. Great looking dress you made for your dd. I haven't sewn very much since I was in highschool. Wish I had the nerve to try it again!

Rose- If I werent trying to get to my goal weight, I would so buy some cookies. I am in TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and did not meet my goal for last yr so I am on a mission so I cannot have any junkfood in my house. :worried:

I have to go workout now to try to have a loss this week so will check in later....Sarah

Hi.. went shopping at Sams this morning, need to go to Domincks to..

RoseMarie I would buy cookies but I always buy from the girl two doors down, the girl accross the street, the sister of one of Eric best friends and the scout down the street that DH works with the DH and from 3 girls who have brothers in our boys scout troop. ..so i am sort of cookied out.. but if you need to make a goal I can help out.. wanna buy tickets to our troop pancake breakfast.. scouts in uniform are free and it is at the same church as the distrcit rechartering..

Hi graciegirlie welcome to the chicago thread.. I know where Morris is too. I grew up on the south side of chicago

Becky2005 nice dress.. It is hard to believe that you sewed that.. It looks way to complicated. Great job.. BTW is that you DD modeling it? She is real cute..

Tiggerrn2 have fun at Orland this afternoon.

jedi_librarian how is your eye today? :grouphug:

Don't want it to be "the number of the beast!":scared1:

:rotfl2: I had to do that too. ::yes::

Can't type too much, I have one eye swollen shut. That's what happens when I'm allergic to cats but I was around one tonight that was just too adorable for me not to play with

Ick, I hope your eye is doing better!

I was eating lunch with the new girl at work yesterday, and I found out she's allergic to wheat! Imagine how difficult that would be! :sad2:

Hersey, Geffric, Leigh- any of you interested in buying GS cookies??

Sorry, but I've already ordered a lot from my friend at work who has a Brownie.

Anyone remember way back in October or so when I said I was going to attempt to make my DD a dress for Patriot's day at school that happens this month?

Anyway...I FINISHED IT.

Great job on the dress! :thumbsup2

Goodmorning Chicagoland! I hope I can keep up with everyone in this post.

There are a lot of us now, so it's hard to keep up, but you'll figure it out as you go. And if you come to a Meet when we have one that makes it even easier to keep people straight. :sunny:

I just went back on Weight Watchers this week. I had lost 14 lbs a couple of years ago, but since then I've let it slide, and especially over the last couple of months I didn't even try. So Tuesday I started counting my points again. I'm down a couple of lbs so far! :yay: I hate not being able to pig out, but I know I'll feel a lot better when I'm not stuffed and I can fit into my smaller clothes again.

I'm going to go look at some furniture stores today. I need to figure out what kind of stuff I want and which stores I like. I want to buy stuff that's not too expensive, but not too cheap also. I'm trying to look at places online. Does anyone have any suggestions? Harlem Furniture seems to have stuff that I like. Does anyone have any experience with them? I don't know which places have good quality stuff and which places don't. :confused3

We are "known" for the shopping in a quaint (sp??) town, except I almost never shop our downtown stores. :rotfl: They are never open when I can and are not really condusive to shopping with a toddler.

Let's just say if I were a seamstress, I would be sued with that dress. There are TONS of mistakes in it (arms too long, the entire dress is a bit big, uneven, etc... but it's pretty much for dress-up for 1 day and DD likes it!).
There is a reason I don't charge money. I just wanted to see if I could actually MAKE it once I got committed to doing it. You don't even want to know how many times I pinned the top to the skirt & unpinned it because it wasn't right. :rotfl2:

Becky2005 nice dress.. It is hard to believe that you sewed that.. It looks way to complicated. Great job.. BTW is that you DD modeling it? She is real cute.

Thank you, yes that is my DD modeling it. Hard to believe she will be 13 in a couple months!! EEK!!! AAK!!! No...:lmao: OK, I'm better now. ;)

Can't type too much, I have one eye swollen shut. That's what happens when I'm allergic to cats but I was around one tonight that was just too adorable for me not to play with

I hope your eye is feeling better!

Debbie6221 Happy Birthday to your DH, hope you all have a wonderful day.

I really like this mutli-quote feature.

Thanks for all the compliments on DD's dress. I don't sew so I wasn't even sure if I could complete it or not. I wouldn't offer to say sew costumes for the school play or something but I'm just happy I was able to actually make this look like the picture on the pattern. Now, the fun part is to try and make a V-neck t-shirt in light blue for her that will match so she can wear that under her brace. I'm kind of glad she is wearing her brace under the dress because the dress would be WAY too big for her otherwise. I would be having to take the sides in bigtime or something. I'm always paranoid I'm going to make something too small, so usually end up making the mistake of making it way too big.

Hi geffric! Thanks for the welcome!

Sk8Leigh- How often do you have Chicagoland meets??? I joined Tops Nov 05. Did great starting Jan 06 and lost 36 lbs but from Sept to my weigh in on Thurs I had gained back 17 of it. OUCH! Goodluck with WW!!! Have you checked out IKEA for furniture??? My parents just purchased some nice couches from there and all of there bedroom furniture. I have been eyeballing somethings in the catalog. Good quality and doesn't break the bank!

Leigh-definately check out IKEA. Especially with your new place. You could really find a lot of things there. Check out their online site. We bought DS bed there before Christmas and for the money it is really great.
Just popping in for a quick bit.
DH and DS are still gone to the soccer game.
DD wants to play UNO Attack, so it's off to be attacked. PS-she cheats!!!:rotfl:

Happy Saturday to all! We just finished taking *down* all of our Christmas decor! Why is it always so much harder to get motivated to put it all away then it is to put it up??? Anyway, I'm quite tired, but the house is looking kind of normal again!

KIM...when you have a chance to check in, let us know how Dancing with the Stars was! I hope you had a great time!

GRACIEGIRLIE...Welcome to the Chicago thread! Glad you're here!

BECKY...wow, you did a wonderful job on the dress! Your daughter is a cutie!

DEBBIE...Happy birthday to your hubby! Where are you taking him for dinner?

HERSEY...Did you book your next Disney trip yet?!

TIGGER...what is UNO attack?? I used to like to play the regular UNO...

JEDI...Hope your eye feels better...animals can be so needy and sometimes it is just too hard to say no to them, isn't it? Where we used to live the cat that lived across the street *adopted* me and was always sitting on my porch waiting for me to come home so he could sit and cuddle with me!

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE..I HOPE *all* of CHICAGO HAS A WONDERFUL, MEMORABLE WEEKEND!!!!

MAC...

I had to come back & post again, I just watched your friend's video of the Halloween party. Too cool! I love how he had the music going in time with what was going on with the video, and he had some great shots of the rides! I laughed when I got to the end and it said "Sad & Pathetic Productions"...what a memorable name!!! LOL!!!

Hi Donna.
Uno Attack is similar to Uno except there is a machine that doles out the cards when you need to draw one. You may get none or a whole handful when you need to pick cards from the pile. You never know. We each won one game then DD whooped me at Operation.:lmao:
Now I need to go take down my Christmas tree. I keep saying this, but never do. Tonight is the night. The wise men have made it, so the tree must come down!!!!
Talk to you all later.

<<The wise men have made it, so the tree must come down!!!!>>

Okay, THIS totally cracked me up!!!! :rotfl2:

Thanks for sharing how the UNO game is played! I used to LOVE to play Operation when I was a kidlet!!! :)
