Just a fast check-in. I'm feeling alot better today.

Slo and Bunchkin- have safe trips to the World!!

Geffric- hope all is doing ok at your job and you're not too stressed out. . Don has been sooo stressed at work the past couple of months or so. His company won't hire any workers to help him out, unfortunately. And he is doing 3 people's jobs! It's crazy, but he chugs along at work and I chug along at the homefront. Poor guy needs a vacation.

For those of you contemplating an October trip, watch out for the week of Columbus Day. We were there that week this past October, and several area schools had off Monday and then Thurs and Friday of that week for whatever these days that they get days off for. Anyway, 2 years before we went the end of October and it was much less crowded and I'd image the first week would be good, too. Although, neither were near as crowded as summer, so there you go.
I'd love to go again but think I'd do the last week of Sept. Maybe get the free food as well as the MNSSHP.
How is everyone today? Was hoping for another nice day, but alas, it's raining. Going downstairs to finish my putting away holiday decor project.
I'll be back later.

my last 5 trips have been in that time period.
the heat doesn't bother me and i haven't ever waited in lines.

i like summer type of weather though.

the past 4 years, i have left orlando in the evening of columbus day.

i start my trips at the motherland, stay 11 days, then move over to the dark side for 4 days.

i get the best of everything.

value season rates, low crowds, mnsshp, food and wine festival and hhn.....

the week before columbus day would be cheaper.
for this year, value season ends oct 3rd.
if you check in on that date or prior, the entire room cost is based on the value rate.

last year i started on sept 26 , years prior around the 28th of sept.
yup free food two years in a row.

One last late night post. Don't know what I'm doing up. Not tired but I will be in the morning. Taking the kids to JumpZone tomorrow/today. They need to jump off some energy.
Sandy and Nicole, have a great trip. I'll be dreaming I'm there.
Got all but the tree down today. Just couldn't bring myself to take down that last bit of holiday cheer. The lights are so relaxing to stare at in the quiet evening after everyone has gone to bed but me.
The dark is so depressing after the holidays. Nothing left to look forward to but dreery days and cold weather.
Thankfully, it hasn't been snowing or freezing cold yet.
Well, I'm off to try to close my eyes and sleep. Talk to you all tomorrow.

well thankfully it it friday.. what a week this was ..

well i finally met with my boss yesterday and he has decided to switch the products that i sell and the territory.. for the 3rd time in 2 1/2 years.. if you have never done sales, let me explain that it takes about 1 year in a territory to build it up and get pipeline going.. so just as I got things going, he would switch me . So whoever got put in the old territory got the benefit of my hard work and got the $$$$ and I got to start over again and not make any $... I am not happy at all... plus this time he has switched to me an old product that i used to sell years ago that I left 'cause it was shrinking and no opportunity to make $$$...
So I am going to feel sorry for myself through the rest of today and then get on the job search in earnest...

anyway..

I stumbled across this thread and I am in the Chicago area, so I thought I would intoduce myself.

I am Sarah, a single(divorcing), stay at home mom to 4 wonderful but exhausting kiddos!!!! I have been to the MK & Epcot for day trips throughout my childhood. Just last yr, we went for 10 days during free dining and so loved it! Best vacation ever!!! Way too much food though but enjoyed gorging! With all the walking it evened out, so it was all good.

I am now in the process of trying to plan our next trip which is Dec 18-28 for my 30th bday. WOOHOO!!! Not so much a woohoo for turning 30 but Disney will soften the blow....LOL

I would love to meet people in my area that are disney crazy like me. I look forward to chatting with everyone, Sarah

Okay, who got soaked yesterday? I know I did! That rain was coming down turning sideways and slapping me in the face! Sheesh! I got off the train, walked to my car and was a completely soaked mess by the time I got to my car! Arrrggghh!!

It's a wee bit cloudy and gray out there today, but I'll take it compared to that rain. I almost wish it were snow (although there'd be a ton of it). At least with snow you don't get soaked to the bone, chilled maybe, but not soaked!

Sheesh! Well two of us have managed to escape our computer terminals and take a spin down to the House of Mouse. I hope they have great weather and a great time!! I still can't seem to find a way to swing a short April trip, so my old theory is, "if you have to make it happen or force it to happen, it ain't right." So, when the time is right, I'll go!

What's everyone's plan for the weekend? I think I'll take my daughter to the Jump Zone tomorrow. I'm glad I have a few podcasts I still need to catch up on! That should drown out some of the noise in that place!

Jump Zone is in Mokena. At least there is one by me in Mokena. Get this, Megan got a gift certificate for six visits to Jump Zone. Or she can have three visits, if she brings a friend. The Open Play hours at this Jump Zone are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and then again from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. I called the manager and asked, so she has these six visits, exactly when do you expect her to go?? She is in school for two of the sessions on Wed and Thurs. and I'm not big on Megan going out on school nights. She has homework and she needs to be settling down, not taking her to Jump Zone and getting her all fired up, although it would be pretty wearing. I ask the manager, don't you feel like maybe your hours are unfairly keeping school age kids from having any time to visit you establishment. He said the rest of the time is private parties. So, I have to book a "private party" in order for her to go at a reasonable hour, you know on a Saturday or Sunday morning/afternoon?

So, dude, exactly what do I do with these 6 visits? My only choice is a Thursday evening. When these six visits are used up (whenever that is), I will never set foot in that place again!!

Fortunately, due to holiday operating hours, there will be one session she can go to tomorrow from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.

The rain had lessened by the time I had gotten off the train but the walk from the tower to Oglivey was brutal.. I was soaked to the bone. Water was coming down hard everywhere. Even a umbrella didn't help...

Oh well today is better and then it gets colder for a while..
