Hi..

i stayed at All Star Movies in the dalmantion building. It was fine. Although i left my Tinkerbell nightgown there. and Lost and Found can't find it.

MOUSEFEST is a lot of fun. Got to WDW on Friday, Check in was a breeze and my room was ready. Drop off stuff and headed to MGM. I went to Beauty and the Beast, over to the prop shop to get my free AP picture. I had it sent to the resort so I didn't have to carry it around. Grabbed a quick snack and met Mary from the cruise boards. I went to RNR for a Stop drop and roll meet. Meet many poeple fron the DIS.We fast passed RnR and then headed over to TOT. The group had 65 people.. We rode TOT, and then went on RnR. After that WDWR and I went to dinner at Beaches and Cream then off to the JellyRolls Meet.

It is getting late I''l finish this later..

if you are thinking about going to MOUSEFEST next year, let me know 'cause i am going too..

slo TOny and I quit doing stockings for ourselves years ago! :teeth:
But Santa does leave a present of two for the adults and for the family as a whole, besides the kids presents of course. :thumbsup2

Glad your classes today were better! :)

Geffric Sounds like you had a lot of fun!! :cool1:

jedi I had no clue TSO had a video!!! Did you??
Check this out: Christmas in Sarejevo

It feels good to be able to say that again. :teeth:
I felt weird not being able to do my early morning posting

Well, today will be sorta of a busy day.
Kevin, Katie and I are going out to the mall to stuff some Happy Feet penquins that Santa is bringing them. Since we have Katie with, I'll have to take her for a walk while Kevin does that (she'll never know then :sad2: ). Then we have to run to Gordons Food Service (do any of you have one of these by you?) and get some things for X-Mas Eve and X-Mas Day dinner. Then when we come home I have have have have to start doing some wrapping. Then get ready for the town Christmas party that starts at 6pm. So the day will be fillled, but it will be a good day.

Also, when it comes to today.....

HAPPY CHANUKAH

to all whole celebrate this holiday :)

geffric - Great TR so far :) I'm sorry you left your nightgown there :guilty: What exactly is Mousefest?

Bunchkin - Santa usually brings one present for Kevin and I too. This year Santa is giving Kevin a digital voice recorder to use at work - I don't know if he'll use it, but Santa is hoping so :santa: I think it's a great idea for Santa to give a present to the whole family - I may use this idea too :teeth:

Well, I gotta run and get Steph going.
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Morning..

SLO Mousefest is a time for adults to have Disney fun..actually i think it is a gathering of the internet communities. Thanks for the Hanukkah wishes.

I meet a number of DISers at the Jellyrolls Meet including Karen, and Camcolt and a bunch of others whose name I don't remember. Sat with Mary from the DCL board, WDWr, DaisyDuck, a couple from Atlanta and TKDLisa. WDWr left to go to a gift exchange, and TLDLisa left when her kids came back. Jellyrolls was fun but I left at 10 with DaisyDuck as it was getting too smoking for me. DD and I went into Epcot as it was EMH and empty. We rode the new Nemo ride 2 times ; it was really cute, Test Track, and the Norway boat ride. By then it was midnight, rode the bus to All Stars.

On Sat, I went to the Soarin' meet with about 65 others including Karen from Boston who hosted the JellyRolls DIS meet. After Soarin' , I hung out with Karen and Goofy4Tink, we got a fast pass for Soaring, and then went and had charcater pictures taked. After the pictures, we went and rode the green side of Mission Space. It was fun and not as intense as the other side, after than we went back to use our FP for Soarin'. At soaring , we got stuck.. the fast pass side just stopped and after about 20 minutes , the FP folks were taken to the other side and we rode Soaring. By this time, I had missed Brunch at the Ball and the Epcot Picture tour. So it was time for lunch and then Test Track.

After that, I walked to the Dolphin for the Mega Mouse Meet.It was huge. They had tables set up from all of the internet communities and podcasters and booksellers. DIS was not there at all, but lots of LGMH. I met Deb Wills ( All Ears), Lou Mongello (Trivia Book) , Dave and Jennifer Marx (Passporter) and the guy who wrote the Hidden Mickeys book. I stayed for the prize drawing and then Karen and Goofy4Tink and I went to look at the decorations and had dinner at 1900 Park Faire.

The dinner at 1900 park faire was great; the food was wonderful much better than Chef Mickeys. But is a girly place so i will never get my boys in there. Lots of little girls in their pretty princess dresses, and no napkin twirling. We saw Cinderella, Prince Charming,The mice Suzy and Perla and the fairy Godmother. I'll post pictures later.

Back to work, I'll finish this later..

Oh my GOD!! You met Lou Mongello. I listen to his podcast faithfully and I think if he weren't married (and I weren't married) with children, I'd move to New Jersey and hunt him down with an unending passion! WHAT??? So, I like him a lot!! I love listening to him and his books were really interesting.

I have got to do this Mousefest. I think if I met Lou I'd turn into a tongue tied school girl! Stammer stammer Hi, stammer stammer

From today's Chicago Tribune. Great story!!

Dog lost in Florida turns up in Illinois

By Charles Sheehan
Tribune staff reporter

December 15, 2006

Alice Baines could not find him on the block. She could not find him near the dock. She could not find him here nor there. She could not find him anywhere.

But two years after a hurricane blew down a back-yard fence in Florida and set free a golden retriever named Sam-I-Am, the wayward pooch was found in McHenry County.

In the most unlikely of reunions Thursday night, Sam-I-Am ran across the tiled floor at O'Hare International Airport and rested his head on the arm of owner Baines, who flew to Chicago from her home in Tampa to retrieve him.

"I can't believe it," she said. "This kind of thing doesn't happen."

Veterinarians in McHenry County were stunned as well when they discovered a microchip in the scruff of the dog's neck that placed his home more than 1,200 miles to the southeast.

"I've never seen anything like it," said McHenry County animal control officer Sean Graff.

`Have you got him?'

On Thursday night, Brett Baines, 9, waited in Florida for the return of his canine pal. The boy last saw the dog in 2004 after the hurricane ripped up a fence outside the family's home.

"He is so excited, I have 10 messages on my phone," Baines said. "Each one says, `Have you got him? Have you got him? Have you got him?'"

Just how Sam-I-Am made the journey from Tampa to Johnsburg, a small town on Pistakee Lake in McHenry County, may never be known.

A resident found the 5-year-old dog wandering along Circle Court earlier this week and took him to the McHenry County animal shelter.

Though few animal owners take advantage of relatively cheap microchip technology, veterinarians in McHenry County do a routine scan of all dogs brought to the shelter, said Dr. Edin Mehanovic, the animal control administrator.

McHenry County officials called the veterinarian who had placed the chip in Sam-I-Am when he was a puppy, whose office Baines said she had been calling on and off since the hurricane.

"I just kept checking and yesterday around 5 o'clock, they called and said, `We got a call from Illinois and we have a chip match,'" Baines said. "They said, `It's him, it's got to be him.'"

Baines booked the first flight to what she called "the Land of Oprah."

For all the mileage, it appears that Sam-I-Am is no worse for the wear.

"The dog is in very good shape," Mehanovic said. "I can't see how the dog could walk that far."

Microchip costs $40

Mehanovic and Graff said Sam-I-Am is a poster pup for microchip technology. Implanting a chip costs about $40, Graff said.

"This is a perfect example of what a microchip can do," Graff said. "A dog can lose a collar or someone can take it off, but the microchip never comes off."

Given the cost of last-minute airfare from Florida to Illinois, Mehanovic said the county's $45 claiming fee for stray dogs was waived.

"This has been the longest day," Baines said. "Everyone has been so nice here, and I don't care how Sam got here. I've got what I've come for and now I'm going home.

"Merry Christmas to everybody."

Isn't it amazing that after two years of being "missing" this dog knew his owner! I'm getting a little misty just thinking about it! :cloud9:

Dogs are great like that. You could be gone 2 years or 2 minutes and they jump all over you.

That's an amazing story! Wow!!! :)
I was just telling Hunter the story about the dog.
I asked him how he thought the dog made it all the way up here from Florida.
And his reply was, "He probably took the subway under ground. And probably used doggy bones as cash.".

:rotfl:

Hi all-
Just a fly-by post.
Won't be able to post tomorrow. Got two things to be at tomorrow. Too busy! :faint:

Geffric- Happy Hanukkah to you and your family!
Enjoyed your TR so far!

Just want you to know I'm thing about all of you guys!

Busy, crazy, hectic BUT fun days!

Boy oh boy I wish Katie would sleep in longer on the weekends - especially when I don't get to bed until late. We had the town Christmas party last night, and it was nice visiting with people.

We officially finished our Christmas shopping yesterday - I so happy!!!! :teeth:
I also started wrapping presents yesterday - that makes me even more happy!!!!

Today I have alot of odds and ends type of things to do - which includes going to the grocery store.

geffric - I hope you had a nice start to your holiday last night.
**Your TR report is great to read. That's great to hear the Nemo ride is good - I"m looking forward to riding it. It's to bad that The DIS wasn't at Mousefest, but I'm glad you met so many wonderful fellow DISers while you were there. :)

Sam - Who is Lou Mongello? I've never heard of him.
**That's a fantastic story that you shared with us. I'm so glad that the dog was reunited with his owner :goodvibes

Bunchkin - Hunter is so cute!!!! :goodvibes Only kids would have an explanation like his for how the dog got that far.

HERSEY - :wave2:

Rosemarie - I hope your day isn't to busy today :wizard:

Debbie - :wave2:

Well, I guess I should go start my day - there's so many more presents to wrap

Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good morning!

Last night my Brownie troop and families went to see Charlotte's Web. Such a cute movie! The sad part in the movie, when Charlotte dies, was even sader in this movie as compared to the animated movie. All of us were crying a bit. :(
It was a really good movie though. :teeth:

I got a couple cute presents from some of my girls. And a gift card to one of our favorite restaurants!! :thumbsup2 Very cool!!!
Very thoughtful little girls! ::yes::

slo Glad the town party was a good time!
I didn't go to bed until late too, and both kids and Tony were up earlier then me!!! In fact, he's already left for work. The rest of us are moving in slow motion!! :rotfl:

Debbie I like being busy this time of year. But then it all comes to a hault after Christmas! :teeth:
