Congratulations slo

Debbie I liked your pictures and report :thumbsup2

I think I am sad :sad1: but I am not sure yet. This will be the first year in 27 years that I won't be going trick-or-treating. Stacey is finally to old to be seen with mom. My oldest will also be 28 on Halloween.

I hope everyone has a great day :wizard:

awww! mom you can go trick-or-treating with me and the girl's :goodvibes

our trick and treating is not fun anymore.

the city made an ordinance years back and the kids can only go out on the last sunday of the month from 2-5. takes the fun out of halloween......

they do the mayors safe walk program. the stores downtown give out candy to the trick n treaters. it is well organized and everyone is included.

so glad i don't have to find costumes for the sons. i used to go nuts trying to figure things out for them. they would chose a costume theme that was hard to recreate. but, with quite a few boys to take out, they got loads of candy.

but that was back in the olden days........ :teeth:

do let us know how the tests and doc appt goes today bunchkin.

That's what I like about living in the city. There are no set trick or treating "hours" If you don't want to hand out candy anymore, you just turm off your porchlight and/or not answer the door! :teeth:

Good afternoon all. Just a quick lurk/post by.
Slo, congrats on the license!!! Hope this month of meetings and workshops go quickly for you.
To everyone needing hugs and prayers and pixie dust :grouphug: pixiedust: Wish I had time to reply one on one. Got to get my minutes typed up for PTO and doing laundry-AGAIN.
Found out mystery flowers were sent by DH company. Nice of them.
Debbie-great pix. Soon as I have time, I'll try it.
Try to have a good day everyone. Sorry the sun isn't shining and the rain is coming again. I'd like to go back to bed.
Later

Hi all-
Yucky Thurs raining, oh well.
Was out today dropping off a kiddie DVD to Blockbuster and out to Target.
It's so funny, I keep bumping into other moms I know, lately at Target and/or Walmart. Usually this doesn't happen often, but lately it has :)

Jedi and NiteOwl- You can take my kids trick-or-treating anytime :teeth:

Hi 2sweetangels, nice to see you :wave2:

Bunchkin- :wizard: on your Card. appt. Hope all looks well :)

Tiggerrn- that was sweet, to get flowers from your Dh's company for your birthday :flower3:
I got a small bouquet a flowers myself(I think from Jewel) from the HR person at my dh's co. for my birthday last month. I also got one of those decorated big cookies! The HR person at dh's work knows me fairly well, as her cubicle is right next to my dh's.

Hi also to Mac, Slo,SamIAm, Debbie, KimRaye, Becky, and anyone else I missed :wave2:

Ok, gotta go. Have a good day :)

Forgot to mention, anyone get flowers for Sweetest Day last Saturday?
I did get a small bouquet or roses from DH. That was so sweet of him :rose: :goodvibes
I don't think Sweetest Day was advertised much this year. I didn't hear much about it this yr as in the past yrs.

O’Hare gets new air carrier to NYC, L.A.

Tribune staff report
Published October 26, 2006, 1:38 PM CDT

A budget carrier that is the newest airline to serve O'Hare International Airport will start service in January with as many as seven daily flights to New York and southern California, up from the four previously reported, it was announced today.

Jet Blue earlier this month was awarded four daily flights from O'Hare, a move that had been opposed by United Airlines, the airport's largest tenant.

Today, though, Jet Blue Chief Executive David Neeleman said the company would have up to five flights a day to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, and two a day to Los Angeles/Long Beach Airport.

Neeleman made the announcement at an O'Hare news conference with Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.

The additional slots were obtained under the FAA's recent decision to allow airlines at O'Hare to "trade, swap, buy or sell" slots, according to Jet Blue spokesman Bryan Baldwin. He declined to say exactly how Jet Blue negotiated the additional slots or from whom it had obtained them.

Jet Blue will be the 55th airline to serve O'Hare, WGN-Ch. 9 reported. It will begin service Jan. 4 out of O'Hare's Terminal 2.

"It's only six years old. You talk about a moving company," Daley said. "They are serving over 41 cities with more than 450 flights (a day). We are excited having them here in Chicago."

"This airline is very innovative, a new approach in the airline industry," the mayor said. "It is a great addition to O'Hare International Airport. I really appreciate them coming here."

Jet Blue's Neeleman said, "O'Hare has lacked really one thing, and that's a good-quality low-fare carrier. You've got low fares down the road at Midway (Airport), but the fares are higher out here."

To promote the service, Jet Blue is offering $36 one-way fares to New York and Long Beach for travelers who book within 36 hours after this morning's announcement—essentially, until late Friday night, WGN-Ch. 9 reported.

Introductory one-way fares will start at $59, and regular fares will range from $89 to $249, according to the airline. Officials said they would consider expanding their service in and out of Chicago in the future, WGN reported.

Beginning in January, Jet Blue flights to New York will depart at 6 a.m., except Sundays, and at 9:25 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. The fifth flight of the day will depart at 6:45 p.m. and will operate every day except Saturday.

Four return flights from New York will be offered seven days a week. A fifth flight of the day, in the evening, will operate every day except Saturday.

Flights to Long Beach will depart at 7:30 a.m. seven days a week and at 5:10 p.m. daily except Saturday. Return flights are set for mid-morning and late afternoon.

More flight information is available at Jet Blue's Web site.

JetBlue has for years sought to serve Chicago, preferring O'Hare to Midway because of its location near growing north and west suburbs and the absence of low-cost competitor Southwest Airlines.

Founded in 2000, JetBlue has proved a hit by offering low prices, just one class of service and amenities such as a personal TV screen at every seat. The airline flies 95 Airbus A320s, which seat 156 passengers, and 21 Embraer 190s, which seat 100.

Like Southwest, JetBlue flies point-to-point, non-stop routes and does not utilize a hub system like American and United. Those two airlines are by far the biggest at O'Hare, together offering about 88 percent of all flights.

But JetBlue has become the largest carrier at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York by offering flights up and down the East Coast and to 14 cities in the West. The closest the airline currently comes to Chicago is Columbus, Ohio, and otherwise serves none of the upper Midwest.

OH HAPPY DAY!! JET BLUE IS COMING OUR WAY!!

:cool1: :dance3: :cool1:

i have seen the deep discounted tickets jet blue has offered other cities in the past.

hoping jet blue wil do the same for chgo flyers.

anyone know if jet blue will have a route to orlando??
crossing fingers....

:sad2: Get this.....I was at the Brookfield Zoo today!!!!!!!!!!! It was my DD's field trip and there was no canceling! Plus the kids went in costume! (My DD was Minnie ::MinnieMo ) What a miserable day for it and can you believe my daughter had fun!!!!!!!!! I did not! Oh to be a kid again! :headache:

KIMRAYE I think I met your DD in the school bathroom today. She is a real cutie!!!! princess:

Hi to all of you! Hope you had a good day on such a grumpy day. :umbrella:

:earseek: When I was in WDW I decided I would base all my days on
the WDW rides and today I would have to say was a Big Thunder Mountain day. Why? I'm not sure!

I'm really crabby today so I'll keep it short! Maybe if I get some work done I will feel better!

One more thing before I go. The bows My DD wears (which I love) are actually from a lady I met through Ebay where she sells her bows. I got to talking with her via email and we began talking about Disney because of the bows I ordered. She told me about the DISBOARDS and that's how I found you guys!!!!!! :disrocks: Cool huh. Look under Ebay ID - Lilahsmommy to see her bows! They are awesome. I am getting ready to send her a holiday order.

I can PM her email address too if you would like. She is super nice.
