Morning all! Hurray, its Friday! I am meeting Disneymama73 (Michele) at the mall so the kids can play and we can have coffee! Hopefully, she'll be on time. She might be at home admiring her lovely new tags! After that, it is back to homework. I spent several hours on an American Lit reading assignment only to discover that reading is for the week after next! Now I need to start on the current one, which is really long (and boring)!
Any big weekend plans? We are going to a boy scout round up and maybe meet Michele at some point to get the rest of the kids together. I also plan on taking the kids to church. Guess I should do that once in a while, since I am making ds go to ccd, huh?
Enjoy your Friday!
To all those going to WDW soon- Is there always "room for one more"? Pick me!

Morning all. I am growing weary of these rainy days. Got the pool emptied yesterday, but need to scrub it out and hang to dry. Guess that won't happen today.
Paint, which mall are you two going to? I need to do a little shopping myself today. Target and Michaels' mostly. Kids get off to school at 9. I know. Late here. They start at 9:30. So I get a late start.
DMM glad to see you back. One more week til you are out of here. Looks like it is going to be a nice day in DW today. Slo should have a great day. I hope they party tonight is better than last weeks. I would really like someone to put a video out of the parade and fireworks. Kids are getting anxious and want to see on the computer what they'll be seeing in person shortly. I wonder if they are the same as last years. Those are on laughingplace.com for anyone to see.
Well, better get the kids ready for the bus.
Later all.

Went to my friend's "On The Ball" class this morning. OMG. I am ready to fall back asleep, now! I am so tired! LOL. Oh well...I owe, I owe ... it's off to work I go. :)

just checking in from school on my break.

i have NOT done one thing for preparation for my trip.
i leave tuesday morning.

but, i did tell mr mac and bought a suitcase.

i hope to be packed by midnight monday. :teeth:

Hi all- happy Friday!
All of you going to the World, have a great time!! :mickeyjum :donald: :goofy:
Leigh- have a great time at the DLand!!
(wish I was going to the World or the Land. waa!!)

I was going to go shopping at Target yesterday, but my van wouldn't start! :furious: Anyways, dh looked at the van when he got home from work yest., he couldn't start it, either. We had to put the van in Neutral and move it out of the garage. We tried to jump the van with his car, it didn't work. Anyways, we called a tow truck and had it towed to Sears Automotive at Woodfield, since Sears Auto. was open til 8pm. Thank God Woodfield is only about 3 miles from me  . Anyways, the battery was dead, according to them. So they put in a new battery and we picked the van up this morning, after the kids went on the bus this AM. Now it works fine :) . I guess it was a good thing I ended up being stuck at home yest instead of being stuck somewhere in the middle of the street or something. Always something around here  Well that's my story of the day :)
I was going to go shopping today but was too tired, so I ended up coloring my hair. I've been getting too gray lately

Ok, have a good weekend everyone!

Morning everyone! Hopefully today will be a quieter day. Yesterday storms were pretty furious. We just lost leaves and pine needles everywhere. My neighbor had a big tree branch come down on their car. Hope everyone is well this morning.

I'm back to doing my housework. Chat with you all later :wave2:

Happy weekend, Chicago friends...

what nasty storms we had passing thru yesterday. I have never experienced such violent rain/hail/thunder/lightening in such a short time period. Our power went out, so we lost the sump pumps in the basement and had a bit of water, but nothing catastrophic, thank goodness. We have trees down in our neighborhood and there were quite a few flooded roads.

I hope that everyone else had no real issues with the storms and that the weekend brings some drier weather for all. :)

Good morning,happy Saturday-
I hope everyone is doing ok with the storms yest afternoon.
The kids and I were home at the time. The tornado sirens went off a couple of times, so I had the kids go in the bathroom since we don't have a basement. Chrissy was really scared and crying for her daddy :guilty:
Our electricity was fine, nothing went out. We had some really bad down pours and a little hail, it was raining so hard, it sounded like I had the windows open, which they were closed and locked at the time.
Dh got caught in the downpour on his drive home from work. He said the sky was very very black and quiet right before then. He thought a tornado was going to come down on top of him, which it didn't.
No damage to anything here.
I heard there was a touchdown of a tornado in Park Ridge, but I don't think it was mentioned on the 10 pm news last night.
KimRaye, did that tornado hit by you? I hope not.

Ok, I hope we don't have anymore tornadic activity today ar any other days.

Hi to all :wave2:

I will be at church late this afternoon and watching the Bono interview via videocast :cool2: Now it would be cool if he came live on stage at church, but I don't think that will happen. :teeth: :)

Hi everyone

Just a quick pop in to show you the picture Mac was talking about so you can see what she looks like :goodvibes

Ya the storms moved though pretty quick. Did anyone see the (a) tornado?
DW wanted to go to the basement because the national weather service on the tv told us we should. But the storm was already through... another reason to NOT count on the feds. The local weather had already been warining us for an hour.

Cool pic! pirate:
Did Toby do a birthday party for one of Mac's sons recently?

I did meet Mac for a brief minute at the August (think it was August) Red Robin meet. I really didn't get much of a chance to chat with her since she only came for a couple of minutes. I think Mac, you came to see DMM for something before that Meet at Woodfield, right?

No, it was for the daughter of a friend of Mac's. :goodvibes

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm meeting Tracy (paintnolish) to see Cars, and all of our kids will finally meet. So far only our youngest 2 have met. After that, dinner at McD's. Not sure if BH is joining us yet or not...

I hope you all have a great day! :sunny: <---- since there isn't any sign of it today

Hope everyone is safe...just started raining heavily again, here. We're headed for the movies!

Our tornado sirens went off yesterday evening when the storms hit. I've never heard them in our area (northside of Chicago) except for that first Tuesday of the month at 10 am when they test em! I was pretty scared.

We survived -- ended up in the basement twice.

My DD had just gotten home from school & changed (she was a drowned rat because it had *just* started pouring and of course no umbrella, had forgotten her sweatjacket in her gym locker -- so she got a tad bit wet from the bus stop to the house. :rotfl: ), she wasn't home more than 10 minutes and the "beep, beep...Tornado WARNING" came on.

I'm OH CRUD, Warning that means basement (grab diapers & wipes! and off we went -- Hey didn't know how long we would be down there! :rotfl2: ).

Get that all done and a little bit later I hear the sirens going and off we go back to the basement.

DH got home a little after the 2nd time saying he almost didn't make it home, the roads were somewhat flooded. I don't think I ever recall our roads flooding! He was supposed to go out & fix a guy's computer. He rescheduled (good thing because their laundry room flooded so they were dealing with that anyway!).

Ahh...at least we had no activities planned. I just hope it gets nicer tomorrow, we are supposed to do Cub Scout booth popcorn sales tomorrow & I so don't want to stand out there in the rain. :umbrella:

Just wanted to post here to say it's my 500th post! :cool1:

I went out today to get a backpack for my laptop for my trip :thumbsup2 , and I should have taken an ark instead of my car. It was pouring! But at least I got one on clearance at Best Buy. They're pretty expensive! Ok, I'd better do something to pack. Anything!
