Morning...

I am driving Eric to school this am. Working from home today, great day to do that since it is raining outside. Geoff left already and i offered to drive him but he said he was ok and left. ..

Thanks for the b'day wishes, my actual b'day is Saturday. but I always celebrate for several weeks. I went out to dinner with friends on Saturday, had lunch with another friend on Tuesday. Friday after Eric's football practice, the whole family will go to Weber grill for b'day eve dinner. We were going to go on Saturday but Eric's football game is at 7:30 pm, so that will be our evening.


First day of school was fine according to the boys. Geoff came home at 5:30 'cause he had cross country running after school and then had tons of homework. Eric got home early (2:45ish) no home work, so he ws bored until football practice at 5:30. I worked from home yesterday so they could get off to school the first morning without an issues. DH is in Dallas. Tonight is Troop Committe. We are going to set the budget for the year etc. Geoff will be there to present his Eagle Project and get approval to proceed to work on it. ( fingers crossed he gets approval)

morning friends! well 5am for little GABRIEL today he was up and laughing in the monitor!! i was still having my OJ with Sal who was about to leave, so we left him until he started to cry. I was hoping he would go back to bed but no luck! suddenly i heard the rattling of the criob, so i knew he had pulled himself up and was shakin' it!! what a crazy dude! so off i went to get him and we played and he crashed at about 8am! good news though Autumn is still asleep!!

it was stormy here until about 5minutes ago so if it gets better we will make a run to the library today!!

No i have not heard from my other yet but i'm sure she is fine when she goes on vacation, she tends to forget about us all the time. I just wish she would realize that with all that is going on, we worry about her. i swear who is the mom here??

Good Morning everyone!

I'm not really liking today much! The nice HUGE thunder that woke me up (after I didn't get to sleep until really late -- reading until 1:00 AM is probably not the best idea!).

Of course, my 9 year old is freaked out with storms. It did take him a while to end up in my bed but I knew it was coming when I heard someone in the bathroom -- since he's my child that never sleeps anyway, I figured it was him. Sure enough, he hops in & then keeps looking at the clock for when he can get up. UGH...sorry life does not begin before 6:00 AM in my house (or at least I try to make it not begin before then). It's too dark outside to get up early. The little guy woke up too, so we did get up by around 6:30.

The only bummer part is we have to go grocery shopping. I'm not sure I want to drag them all out to do it. I also need to go get more school supplies that I found out we need that weren't on our list.

DD had locker set-up at the Middle School yesterday. It's also happening today but we don't need to go. We will be going again Monday since the teachers will be there also (plus they didn't have her gym shorts that we ordered. They are all supposed to come in on Monday!). All I can say is she is going to be running like a crazed person in the morning but besides that, I think whoever is in charge of school construction has lost their minds. We have built a new middle school here on the same campus. Kids from both schools are going to ride 1 bus, it's just luck of the draw which school your bus is going to drop-off at. Just our luck, hers is dropping off at the old school (she's attending the new one). SUPPOSEDLY there is going to be a sidewalk connecting the two. Hmm...as of yesterday, there were construction fences up because they are remodeling the old school now -- with kids attending, NO complete sidewalk to connect the two and to get from Bus Stop Old School to New School you have to walk right through the middle of the parking lot. That's just insane, is it coming to shock to someone that umm...Wednesday is the first day of school?

Now, I know they can do sidewalks pretty quick (hmm...although looking at today's weather don't think that will happen) and I see an area that they might do it but in addition this is this huge area with dirt & heavy equipment. I really don't see that disappearing by Wednesday. I guess we will see if anything is farther done on Monday but I couldn't figure out any other way to get from Point A to Point B without cutting through lots. I'm really glad I'm not one of the administrators -- I don't envy them for the first day of school. It's going to be chaos above & beyond a normal first day of school.

Bunchkin, I feel so bad for Lauren, but Megan also got whacked with the mean kid stick yesterday! Some little girl on the bus turned around and said, "What are you? A preschooler??!! Megan said she just stared at her and didn't say anything. I told her that was probably the best thing you could do because she may have realized she couldn't rile you up!

DMM: I would love to have dinner at your house someday, you're Mexican cooking sounds amazing! (I'm not inviting myself, just hinting a little bit ).

Slo: I hope you got your practice test done last night! I can't even think past 8:00 p.m., so everything needs to be done before then!

I'm assuming that they found poor Hannah yesterday. I wanted to stop over and see how she was doing, but they weren't outside last evening, and I figured they were probably exhausted with all the uproar. I hope Hannah does better today. It will be something to laugh about in a few years, but I'm sure she was petrified yesterday. This little girl is shy and I'm sure it was hard on her to be "lost".

Well I did something sorta crazy yesterday. That darn Samantha Brown was on the Travel Channel yesterday featuring Disney's Beach Club. So, I called my travel agent to ask how much it would cost to upgrade. THANKFULLY, the Beach Club is sold out during our dates, so I'll still be at Pop Century. It was pretty pricey, but, lemme tell you, it would have been tough to say no to that resort. It's beautiful.

SamIam thanks for the compliments on the cooking! i try but aside from Mexican i'm a danger in the kitchen!! and everything i learned i learned from my grandfather or my mother!!

The Beach club is FABULOUS!i think the rooms are a bit small (almost like the POP in some!!) but the view (boardwalk) is GORGEOUS!! and the decor really makes you feel as though you are NOT in the WORLD!

I also like it better than the Yacht b/c teh guests there tend to be more snooty!
but we really like it there! and can't wait until the kids get older to start trying other places again!

Hi all-
My kids survived the first day of school yest. Everything went fine with that. They both brought home a ton of papers for mom and dad . Mostly informational letters from our principal, the PTA co-presidents, the teachers,etc. Also permission forms for this and that to sign, our school picture day forms to fill out and send money(our school pictures are real early this yr, on Sept. 6!). I still have half the papers and forms to go thru . I'm sure Market Day food catalogs and other school fundraisers will come home with them today, they always do Always too many papers to go thru .

Hope everyone survived the storms this morning
I've got my time of the month,so not feeling too well today(headachy, cramps, swollen feet, blah).

Howdy!!

Today is Lauren's 1st full day of school, and the first full day alone for HUnter and I. Last year the school bus was only full till the 8th row. Now that the subdivision is 3/4 done the bus was FULL to the max!!

Already have laundry going, the dish washer running, the beds made.....which means I probably will need a nap later. I was up late watching old movies last night!! I old movies!!!

SamIAm Sorry to hear about Megan and the meaney on the bus!! Luckily for Lauren, she is one of the oldest on the bus since she is in 3rd grade. But Lauren would NEVER speak to another child like that. It makes you wonder how children are raised??

Bunchkin, where do you go to find out what Disney shows are on? I found a link somewhere long ago, but now don't remember where it was.
DMM it won't matter if they can tell time. I tell mine all the time not to bother me before 7:30 if I worked the night before, but their tummy just can't take it. I hear cabinets clunking, drawers banging, fridge open and close. Rather than waiting for the milk to land on the floor, I figure it is just safer to get up and assist with breakfast.
Well, guess it must be Thursday, it's raining again. Our ladies softball team was rained out more times than not on Thursdays. Thank heaven our season is over, but the rain curse goes on.
Guess we'll go to TDS in Orland today. I will call ahead to see if they have the backpacks we're looking for. Guessing they are not going on sale soon. The 20% off coupon expires Saturday.
I could go back to sleep I think. Too gloomy. Somebody please wake me up!!!

Bunchkin, where do you go to find out what Disney shows are on? I found a link somewhere long ago, but now don't remember where it was.

I don't/didn't use anything on the net. My satelite system lets me search for things within a weeks time that might be coming on tv. So I just did a search of 'Disney' and all and any shows with Disney in the title or text pops up. Then all I do is set a reminder of them.

I also do frequest searches of 'Bon Jovi'!!!
