DonnaW- Those two cars are nothing fabulous, but I am a student and I need a new and inexpensive, yet still relativly safe car, that gets good gas mileage.

...

Yep, being the mom of a college student, I know how important the budget can be! With the way the gas prices are these days, pretty sooon everyone is going to be walking or biking everywhere they need to go! Can you get a good price on those cars you're looking at?

DonnaW- I can't remember where in Roselle you live. Are you getting the Medina- PGA golf tourney traffic?

I live on the other side of Roselle from Medinah, but have driven past there this week a few times on the way to work. On Monday, the traffic was horrible, and I thought it would be like that all week, but Tuesday it was just the opposite...not sure why. I think it's pretty cool to see all these huge tour bus people, and lots of police cars and all the excitement and stuff, though...kinda like Disney!...I just wish it was for something I was more involved in than golf, though! :rotfl2:

Happy Saturday, everyone!

My day didn't start out too well...I broke a bottle of my fav perfume (Clinique Happy) all over the bathroom floor. My bathroom smells great!!!!
It's gotta get better, right??

Hope you all have a good weekend!!! :cool1:

DonnaW  for you and.......

"Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life (or something messy like a broken bottle of Happy Clinique :p ) we could simply press 'Ctr Alt Delete' and start all over?"

I sure hope so! H can get a discount at the Mitsubishi place, so we will see how much the Lancer is. However, I still like the ugly/cute xB.

:woohoo: Leaving Mon morning! We've got a 7:50 flight, so we have to get up pretty early to get to Midway. The kids will probably sleep on the flight. We got the rest of the stuff we needed today, and I am ready to start packing. I am frightening some of you planners, aren't I?

Bunchkin and SamIAm- Here is another area complaint. I went to the WalMart on Larkin. I know it is a junky one, but I was too lazy to drive to a further one. What a zoo! However, since I was so close to White Castle, I just had to stop. There aren't any where I used to live and I had not eaten there in years. It was so good!
DMM- I used to miss my family terribly when they left, and I only lived two hours away. Now that I see them everyday though, Idon't know what I was thinking!

Anyone know when backpacks will be on sale at TDS?

I def'ly know what you mean... parents used to live in NJ a 2 hour drive away and now they are in St. Charles,IL !!! We have a better relationship! :lmao:

Hi Chicago area homies!

Slo: glad you called the police :thumbsup2 -- always do without hesitation. ::yes:: Better to be safe than sorry. I live right downtown and am real good at calling! :teeth:

Sk8leigh: I thought your story was so cute about sharing your food with a stranger. :goodvibes He may still remember that moment too. It happened to me at Epcot once. I said yum to a man eating an ice cream cone and he offered me a lick! hahha. :lmao: It was just so innocent and sweet that I still remember it. pixiedust: Magic.

DMMichelle: Thought of asking you to haul my shampoo and sunscreen down to POP for me! :rotfl2: Just kidding. I'm gonna just check the bag with ME this year -- usually don't though. Argh. Also... We'll be your family! :grouphug:

Bunchkin: Hope your foot is feeling better. :) I'm not sure using a scooter would be all bad? :moped: I guess they don't let them go to the front any more though? :confused3 When my son was in a wheelchair with a broken foot a couple years ago we got priority seating for almost everything. :woohoo: Sounds like they maybe don't do that any more?

Paintnolish: My planning skills are real similar to yours. :rotfl: Hope you have a great trip! :yay:

Hi Everyone Else! :flower3:

I have another ticker - I'm so excited. party: A bit decadent, but my best friend (in Colorado) wanted me to do a Disney weekend with her ~ five days. Yippeeeeeee. :Pinkbounc My DH and both DSs are way too happy I'm going twice. :dance3: hahhaha. While the cat's away...... :rotfl:

Sorry I can't keep up with you yackers. :chat: I will pop in and say hi now and then though! :hyper2:

I do think that R' Place has the Ethel. Years ago they did a report about it on WGN. They were trying to see if someone could finish it and no one could.

Ahh yes... The famous Ethel Burger. That thing's a monster. 4 pounds of ground beef, with all toppings, including bean sprouts, on a huge roll and you get one hour to eat it... all of it! They've got a photo board with photos of those who "Tried and died" and those who "Tried and survived". That's a ton of food. The roll alone would do me in, and I'm a big guy.

R-Place is one of my favorite eateries though. There "Shoulda Bean There Burger" is phenominal. And for breakfast, gotta have the Desperado.

So, when's the meet! I'm hungry! ;)

So, what do you think Bunchkin? Somehow, you seem to be the offical planner around here! You would not want me planning anything. Remember, I am not packed and don't have one of those intinerary thingies you all keep talking about! :rotfl: I have adrs. That's pushing it!

Crissup- Dumb ?...was that a typo or ths burger really made form beans? I don't know about that one!

How many people were on the wall who finished it? There is a place in Central IL called Al's Steakhouse. They have a monster steak that hardly anyone can finish. If you do, you get your pic on the wall. I was suprised that many of the people who finished it were skinny college age girls! I thought they never ate :rotfl2:

Leigh it is so awesome you met Brian Boitano and talked f all things about funnel cakes :rotfl: Too neat! I notice that your screen name is sk8. Do you figire skate? Are you professional? I used to figure skate when I was younger and really loved it, but had to stop because my life got too busy by middle school. I wish I could have kept on-it was good exersize!

Nah, I'm just a fan. I took some lessons for several years starting in college, but at some point I quit because I could never really get the hang of spins and I was afraid to jump. So I just stuck to going to skating events and taking pictures. :)

The Shoulda Bean There Burger is two cheeseburger patties laid open face, side by side, on the hamburger bun. Then, they smother the entire plate in chili. Phenominal!!

They've had several people eat the Ethel. I wanna say there was at least a dozen or two. Of course, there are two whole boards of people who weren't able to eat it. Being a truck stop, they get a lot of truckers in who are big burly guys that can eat a lot, so it's really not that surprising. Maybe we need to get that guy who keeps winning that Nathan hot dog contest in there. ;)

Have a great trip Paint. Don't know yet about the backpacks. We're waiting too. I call each week. Going to stop in at TDS in Merriville tomorrow. I'll post back and let you know.
Night all. Going to bed here. Long day. :wave2:

Isn't it a skinny little guy from China? It grosses me out when they dip the buns in the water. I have a phobia about things floating in drinks. No sharing with the kids for sure!

I don't think it will be on sale anytime soon... it is a very hot item right now at TDS here in Pa which mean they will sell till they can on regular prize :guilty: Give it another seven days from today/Sunday and then check again.

Good Sunday morning everyone!! :surfweb:

Why is it, on the days I want to sleep in, my girls get up at 6:30am, and when I want them to get up early, they give me a hard time because they want to sleep in :confused3 Very frustrating!!!!

So, today is Katie's party - she is so excited :Pinkbounc !!! Her theme is Dora the Explorer. Stephanie got her a tv like thing that lights up and has Dora moving (they have ones that look like aquariums too) and a Dora soccer ball. Kevin and I are giving Katie a Fisher Price thing that's like a MP3 player and speakers that you hook it up too. Fisher Price has a website that you download childrens songs and childrens stories onto this thing. I thought it would be nice for the airplane and long road trips.

I like a clean house anyway, but I go into overdrive when people are coming over!! :rotfl:
I am that way too. I always clean the downstairs bathroom a couple of days ahead of time, and then close the door and tell everyone the bathrooms closed and they are not allowed to use it. Everyone whines, but they get over it
**Thanks for the explanation of R Place :)

We found out my kid's teachers yesterday & even my DD got her schedule in the mail. I'm happy with it.
We found out Stephanie's too. I'm happy that Stephanie and a couple of her friends were split up and put in seperate classes. These girls were more interested in socializing than learning  This way Steph gets a fresh start with new friends too.
**I'm glad you are happy with your DD's teachers and your oldest schedule :)

Today we're going to Merrilville (again) and probably eating China Buffet (all you can eat sushi for 6 dollars? Heck yeah!) and then relaxing in a comfy chair at the Caribu coffee. Then maybe drag ourselves over to costco
Sounds like a good day!!!! :)
I can't recall where Caribu Coffee is.

Oh, that's a bummer!!! :guilty: Sorry to hear that!!
I did that once with a large bottle of Kevin's cologne. That smelled stayed in my bathroom for days.
