Slo - I posted in your poll thread - it sure looks like you're feeding the coons!!

Sk8leigh - when we were in wdw in line at Test Track - there was a group of 4 ladies, just havin a ball, laughing, and enjoying everything - I asked if they were Dis friends- - - dazed and confused look.... um "internet people?" nope, just good friends!! They all had headbands Minnie ears I think - so I would say go for it, it truly adds to the fun!!! (I wore Bride ears :) )

Nite Owl  Hope it works out for you!

:wizard: who's missin?? :wizard:

oh, the Cornish Hens, they're easy to prepare - I do reccommend cutting them in half before cooking - just cut off that tail, cut down either/both sides of the backbone, and discard... then cut down thru the breast for ease of serving - I usually just back them according to package directions - salt pepper, butter...

I cooked the wild rice mix, and then put it in the bottom of the pan, then the hens on top - ok, the rice under the hens was just fine, the rice everywhere else - crunchy (not a bad thing imho - lol - but I like crunchy - for a perfecter meal, go with just placing the rice in a pile and the hens on top!!)

It really makes for an elegant sounding meal, but its just a tiny chicken!! ;)

gotta run, working at an elem school today as the school nurse!

good monday morning chicagoland homies..... :teeth:

Good Morning all!!

My lovely Sunday came to a quicl halt last night! :(
At around 9:30pm I started having pains in the middle of my chest and around my right breast bone. And then a sharp pain below my right shouldar blade. I have had this reacurring sharp pain in my shouldar blade off and on, and usually when I sleep in a wierd position.
But all these pains seemed to be connected. :confused3
At 1st I thought I had serious heartburn. But nothing remedy wise was working. And the pain was getting more and more painful.
I tried to go to bed at around 11pm ish while lying on a heating pad. That worked for an hour, and then the pain woke me up.
At that point I decided to drive myself down the stree (5 minutes) to the local hospital.
Luckily for me it was a slow night in the ER and I was seen right away.
They did all kinds of xrays, blood work, cat scans, EKG, heart monitor.....and nothing was showing up as being wrong. :confused3
They did give me meds and these seemed to work quickly. Within an hour and a half the pain was gone. :confused3
They wanted me to stay overnight for more blood work this morning and observation, but I declined. It was not obviously my heart, that was actually fine for once!! :teeth: I have soooo totally had enough of hospitals this year!! ::yes::
I got home about 5am and was able to sleep 2 1/2 hour before needing to be up to get the kids ready for school. I feel fine this morning. SO who knows what was wrong with me exactly. I will be following up with my doctor though.

So I am running on NO sleep practically. And I am holding a room mom meeting for DD's 3rd grade class this morning at the library.
So I need to get ready.

I will check in later. No time now to respond to others.
I just wanted to let you all know what a crazy/crappy night I had!
I'm just glad it wasn't my heart this time!! ::yes::

Bunchkin- Sorry to hear what happened :grouphug: :wizard:
Glad you are doing better, tho.
I'm wondering if your chest pain is related to the change of the lining of the chest wall? I know it sounds silly, but my dh had to go in a couple of times to the ER(a few yrs back) with chest pain. He had a whole work up for hte heart, etc. The ER doc found out it was changes in the chest wall. I don't have the medical term of it in front of me. It's a long name amd I can't seem to find it with the medical papers I have stacked somewhere.
Anyways, my dh had about hte same symptoms as you; pain and heaviness in the chest area, shoulder blade pain, etc. The condition my dh has is not serious at all, it just happens. It is not related to hte heart at all. The changes in the lining of the chest wall can happen at any time, mostly during stress and change of weather. The pain comes and goes all the time, at least it does for my dh. For my dh, when he's stressed at work, he will get that extreme chest pain and heaviness, but then it goes away on its own.
I'm hoping this may be what you have.
Keep us posted.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry to check in so late. I just wanted to say I had a great time yesterday and MMS. Bunchkin: I will be happy to return your MNSSHP thing. I'll make a quick copy of it here at work and that will be more than enough to read over and keep for future reference. I told Hersey in a PM, I got lost yesterday going home. :confused3 Silly me thought I had to get on 190 East, and ended up on the Kennedy x-way instead of 294! Took me 1 1/2 hours to get home because I had to drive through the city. It worked out okay though because Megan got a great nap. It only took me 45 minutes to get up there. And, had I known it was going to be in Merrillville, I would have just gone out there rather all the way up to O'Hare. I know my way around Schererville & Merrillville like the back of my hand. Would have been way less stressful for me!

I saw some of the pictures of Lauren as Holiday Belle and she looked really beautiful. That gorgeous strawberry blonde hair against the red dress/gold dress. She ought to wear red and gold more often. Bunchy sorry to hear you weren't feeling well last night, but so glad it's not your heart!! I ate some pizza and some of those cheese sticks and I couldn't eat another thing the rest of the day. I was stuffed.

It was great meeting Hersey and her son, Alex. He is so well behaved. He had a little gameboy to keep him occupied. It was hard to play and eat at the same time though!! :rotfl:

Slo: I love your little midnight bandits. I guess they like pumpkins and gourds. Megan has one more week of soccer! That's it, we're outta there!! Next week on Monday, we have a small pizza party to celebrate the season's end. My petunias finally keeled over too Slo, so don't feel bad!!

Well, it's only 40 days till my vacation. I was telling everyone yesterday that I thought about a Disney 3 day cruise in April, but for the three of us it would be $2200. I :sad2: was bummed at that and thought, I could do a full week in Disney world for that much money!! That's just way too much for three days. I wish Disney cruises weren't so expensive!! I'm going to have to pass. I'm going to need a new car next year too, so I can't pony up for that! That's a downpayment for pete's sake!

Sam!! :cheer2:

Hi again!! :teeth:

Still feeling good! :thumbsup2 Just tired!!! :)
Room mom meeting went well, we got lots of ideas put together for the 3rd grade Halloween party for Lauren's class.
And now Hunter is at preschool! So I think I'll go lay down for a little while. :)

slo I didn't realize Mickey's Magic Show was coming to the Star. We haven't been there in YEARS!! The last person/act we saw there was the comedian Gallagher!!! And before that was a Randy Travis concert back when he was super popular...early 90's.
Those racoons look so skinny!!! :rotfl: They must be young ones.

Donna I thought the beginning of the Magic Show was slow too. But at the end, that cut the ladies in half trick floored me! :rotfl: I'm still trying to figure that one out.

Rosemarie Thanks for bringing up what happened to your DH.
I happen to have an appt with the electrophisiologist that did my heart ablation next week, so I will bring up what you said. I think stress is definitely playing a role in this somehow.

Sam Sorry to hear you got on the wrong freeway!! Actually....we almost did the same thing....no thanks to Tony!!! Good thing I was driving home!
Thanks for comments about Lauren in her Belle dress! :goodvibes She plans on wearing it to several Halloween functions in the next 2 weeks, so at least I will get my $$ worth out of it!
How is Megan doing after taking that little fall in the chairs yesterday? Was she hurt? Lauren told me that she wants to have a play date with Megan SOON!! :teeth:
You should go to Disneyland in April....like us!! That would be awesome!

macraven Thanks for the concern! :goodvibes

Have a great afternoon everyone!! :grouphug:

Bunchkin, Megan was fine for sure!! Was that not sort of funny though (bad mommy!!). It was like slow motion she was sort of leaning over and blammo just fell over. She wasn't hurt at all (except her little ego) and was fine about it the rest of the day. I cracked up later about that Mike's hard lemonade comment. It sure did look like she was tipsie!!

I always tell her, don't play on furniture or sit funny, etc., because it's not always sturdy. And blammo, she just tilts over. I think she had her hand on the chair next to her, and somehow slipped. Had she gone backwards and banged her head, I would have freaked out, but somehow she just tips over sideways??

We were supposed to talk about Girl Scouts and we didn't. I'm so glad you are feeling better and able to get a little rest here this afternoon. So, whenever you want to get together again for a playdate or whatever, let me know. I can mail that brochure back to you too. I've got good stuff to wrap it in here at work, so it won't get bent or bruised at all!

I'm glad I can get on the train today and not introduce myself to some strange guy! :rotfl: If I see Tony, I'll wave. I have a feeling that I'll be on the 3:45, but I have some podcasts to listen to, so I'll be in my own little world.

You know, you just totally peaked my curiosity about Disneyland! You'll have to PM me and give me the dates you are going to DL. I would love to go back there!!

:dance3:

roseprincess - I'm glad to hear that Chrissy is doing well and back to her old self. I like the new picture in your siggie
Thanks! The pic in my siggie is from a small Make-A-Wish fundraiser we were invited to attend about this time 2 yrs ago. I don't know if you notice the blue MAW pins Chrissy and Matthew are wearing. It's a pic from a regular camera, not a digital camera. I did recently take a pic of the pic with my digital so I can put it in my siggie! I tried so many times to make the pic smaller and larger, but this is about all I can do with it.

Enjoyed your racoon pics, those thieves! :sad2: :)
Just make sure they don't enter your attic again ;)

Nov 18 Mag Mile Disney Parade....

should she or shouldnt she...

DD Irish Step Class is going to be in the parade... but just thinking about the crowds there and back... and then if its cold...

The parade itself would be no problem, its the standing around for line up and preparing to step off... that can take so very long...

so I'm debating.... :hourglass

Never got that nap earlier. I was too busy working on fliers for the class Halloween party.
But did take a short cat nap after Lauren was home from school and I had checked over her homework. Then DH came home a made dinner. Good DH!! :teeth:

eeyore Some of us were just discussing the Mag Mile parade/Festival of Lights on Sunday. I think we are going to it this year....finally. How exciting that your DD's dance class is involved!! :thumbsup2

SamIAm I'm glad you found my Mike's comment funny! :teeth:
But I was REALLY concerend about Megan though!! ::yes::

Tony has gotten IPod fever since he started taking the train. I think I will buy him one for Christmas.....so then he can finally shut up about them! :rotfl:
He won't be on the train Wed afternoon, if you happen to leave early that day, his best friend is taking him to see Iron Maiden as a birthday present! I'll pass on that one, thanks! :rotfl: I warned him that now that he is 'old' he should refrain from head banging...he might give himself a concussion! :lmao:

I'll send you a PM tomorrow with our dates.

I'm off to bed! :cloud9:

came back to tuck you all into bed.

sweet sleep homies.

slo, i would have stopped by to tuck your crew in also but afraid of the raccoons......... :rolleyes1

catch you when the sun rises next

sweet sleep

Hello all.

I survived the weekend. Sunday was my little guy's birthday party and today was his real birthday.

ACK!!! I have a 3 year old. ;) Those are worse than 2.

Then my hubby ended up locking his keys in his car today at the most inopportune time, so I had to drive :drive: to unlock his doors and attempt to get one of us back in time to get DD to gymnastics. We managed to do it but it took a big chunk out of our day since it was rush hour. Everyone was in our way. ;) THAT was NOT on my agenda.

I sent off the application to Shriners for DD so now it's a waiting game.

Lots of stuff done today and hopefully tomorrow I can actually start working on DD's dress for Patriot's day. I suppose I should hem the boys costumes for Halloween up first though. I just had to get through this birthday.

Becky- Happy birthday to your youngest dson! :bday: :cake:

Ok, have to say this, way to go Bears!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
6-0  :cool1: That was an awesome game tonight!
I am not much into football at all, really I'm not, but the game was awesome!
It's pretty exciting! I would love to see the Superbowl Shuffle part 2, as I call it ;) :dancer: :dancer: party:

Have a good night everyone.

BEARS 6-0!!! :woohoo:

Good Tuesday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

A raccoon update:
One was back last night, feasting in the rain. We scared him off and put more replenent on everything, but that doesn't keep this little bugger away. He is back this morning  And Rose, you're right, as long as they stay out of my attack!!!!! ;)

NiteOwl - Are you liking the changes at work? How much longer until it's all done?

Donna - I'm glad you enjoyed the magic show.

eeyore - I'm glad your Cornish Hens turned out well. I should try and make them sometime.

macraven - It's good you didn't tuck in my little wild pets - they're mean!!!!

Bunchkin - I'm so sorry to hear about your ER trip :guilty:  Are you going for further tests to see what may have caused the pain? Please keep us posted :grouphug:
**Congrats on your new ticker - that's awesome!!!
**I'm glad your room mom meeting went well. I'm getting together with some mom's on Thursday night to discuss the Halloween party.

Rosemarie - Thanks for explaining the picture :)

Sam - Sending lots of PD :wizard: for a quick last week of soccer. We should be having some type of something too for soccer, so the kids can get their trophy. I'm hoping it's a just a quick ice cream, and that's it

Becky - Happy belated birthday to your son!!!! :bday: :cake:

Kim - Hi there!!! :wave2:

Well I'm off to get ready for work and get Steph off to school. Have a good day today everyone!!!

good tuesday morning chicagoland homies.

it's still raining where i am.
but at least, it is warmer.......

ok, you can turn the faucet off now.

still have the cold since i came back from the motherland. staying off work until if feel better. i got sick the last 5 days of my trip. at first i thought it was allergies but when i got the chills, i knew i was coming down with something.

it is so unfair to feel sluggish and have a runny nose in 90 degree weather.

hope everyone has a great day !

Good Morning!
The rain has stopped here! And it seems like the sun wants to peek out and say "HI!". :sunny:

Lots of household stuff/chores going on here today.
And I need to plan for my 1st Brownie meeting which is this Friday.

slo Thanks for the ! I did put a call into the doctor yesterday, but did not hear back from them. The nurse was out until today or tomorrow. I'm not too worried though, as the EKG and the heart monitor showed nothing wrong with my heart. And I had a complete chest/stomach cat scan done too, and that showed nothing as well. Which is actually GOOD news! :thumbsup2
Good luck with the room mom meeting! :) I was lucky enough to have a bunch of other moms who signed up to help this year. If you need any party game suggestions just let me know! :thumbsup2

Becky I hope you hear good news back from Shriners! How long of a wait will it be?
Happy B-Day to your son!!! :cake: :bday:

Kim Thanks for the concern and I am feeling fine, thanks!
I'm glad you didn't tell us the Magic Show was slow in the beginning. I hate going into something with a negative opinion already! ;)

macraven I'm so sorry to hear you were sick during your trip! What a bummer!! :guilty:  Hope you're feeling better soon!

I'm not a big Bears fan, not since '85 actually!! :rotfl: I know, how dare someone from the Chicago area NOT be a Bears fan!! :teeth:
But I'm glad they are doing so well. Any win for Chicago is a good thing!!
Just don't tell DH I said that! :ssst: We are Raider fans! :teeth: And I like the Vikings too!

Have a great day everyone!!
