Good evening all.

Didn't have much to say tonight. Hope everyone had a great day today. It was a beautiful day here.
Kids are back to school and enjoying everything (except for the homework).
Have a seminar to go to in Oak Brook tomorrow. Early start for me. Some McDonald's building. Must be for conferences or something. :confused3

Hi all-
Been busy today with alot of stuff- getting birthday cards out to family, getting Thank You cards out, other stuff.
Have a little good news to share. Got a letter in Matthew's backpack this afternoon when he came home from school. the letter was sealed, from the American Library of Poetry. The heading of the letter was addressed to Matthew, in care of his teacher's name and school address. I open the letter and Matthew's poem qualifies for the poetry contest! The judging will be done from the middle to the end of September. A winner and runner up from each division will be announced on Sept. 30. Dh and I were thrilled that Matthew's poem went this far. We didn't even know his class had entered a poetry contest last Spring! I don't remember his teacher saying anything about it last Spring. Matt has the same teacher this school yr and last school yr. I just emailed his teacher to give her a heads up that Matthew's poem qualifies for hte contest. I have no clue if she knew this or not. I also asked her questions about the poetry contest. Oh, his poem is called" Chrissy's Wish". He wrote a short poem at school about Chrissy's Make-A-Wish trip, specifically about Chef Mickey's and the experience there ::MickeyMo.
So, maybe we will be pleasantly surprised and he'll win? Whatever happens , it will be fine :)

Slo- hope you have good news of your biopsy results :wizard:
Please let us know how you are doing.

mookie- glad to see you here :wave2:

DMM and Jedi-have a great time at GA tomorrow! :woohoo:
Try out Camp Cartoon Network! :thumbsup2

Macraven- I don't know anything about Meneire's disease. Have you done a search of it on WebMD? Maybe there are newer treatments and meds listed there for that?
:grouphug: hope you feel better soon!

Geffric- thanks for the phone# to New Dimensions. never heard of it before. We could always use extra money- maybe doing a study for money isn't a bad thing :scratchin. Hope all went well with Geoff's track meet.

disneymama73- glad you are feeling better :thumbsup2

SamIAm- taking pics of the signs sounds interesting to me ;)

Hi to everyone else I missed :wave2:

Ok, I'm going to get off the computer and go to sleep.
Goodnight all.

When I was on my way home from work, I called my friend in Indy to see how her little girl is doing. After her virus, she got a sinus infection. She's been on antibiotics, but she was saying she's cold. So my friend took her temperature, and it was 101. So she's still sick! :(

And then I talked to her, and I asked her how she liked first grade (her mom had already said she didn't like it). She said she didn't like it at all. I asked her what she didn't like, and she said everything. Then she said that she didn't like it because she misses her mommy. Awww. Poor baby, I feel so bad for her. She's had a rough couple of weeks. :(

Hope all goes well at your seminar tomorrow. You are probably going to be at McDonald's corporate. There is a certain name of a building they do training at, can't remember the name of it. I was at a church conference once over there, at McDonald's corporate campus in Oak Brook. The conference was a few yrs back.
DMM might know the name, I think her mom works at McD's corporate?

Good morning everyone!

Slo I hope all is well with you this morning.

roseprincess That's great news for Matthew :thumbsup2

Sk8Leigh I hope your friend and her family get better soon. The start of the school year is always great for germs.

Mac I hope all is well with you too.

paintnolish I'm glad your classes so far sound good. Good teachers really make a difference.

Alex is doing well so far this year, with the exception he has a lot of homework this year. I'll have to see how things go, I may have to contact his teacher. She said their homework depends on what is done in class. I know Alex if he has something to do he does it right away. Last year he got a big packet of work to do while we were at WDW He got it done 4 days before we left and turned it to his teachers. He is not the procastinator his Mom and Dad were. :teeth: I hated homework I waited for the last moment.

Sorry this was longer than I intended talk later

Morning all :sunny: I hope the weather holds out today...we have our bridging ceremony for Daisy girls scouts today...to Brownies (didn't quite get to it last year)..

I'm still hoping to kinda get a routine going here soon, everything feels so...I don't know...discombobulated???

Had middle school parent night last night...Casey has some really young teachers! Her Communications teacher is a first year grad & he's hysterical..he was so nervous about talking to the parents....& he's a speech teacher! Last year she had all much older more seasoned teachers so we'll see how she does with a younger group. Her science teacher seems cool!

Slo: Hope all is well

Mac: I hope the room is done spinning soon! I know all about vertigo...not the other thing...but vertigo....bleech

Hersey - hope things improve form Alex and the homework.

Gotta go back to work..

To everyone else - Hi there!!! :wave2:

great news sandy. i was praying for you.

hello to all my chicagoland homies.

want to say mucho gracious carmen for the emails on meniere's disease.
i know a lot about it but you had a few things that i was not aware of.
thank you ever so much.

my head is still spinning since my last attack started some days ago.
this is not the right time for me to be incapacitated. i have to drive one son bri to ohare at 5am monday morning. he is moving to mexico.
i have to drive........i have to improve.

rosemarie, meniere's is not fatal or contagious. it is when the fluid in the middle ear keeps sloshing around. when that happens, horrible vertigo and vomiting happens. looking at the computer screen makes me spin more ..

and you all thought i was just another dizzy blonde........yup, i am!!

ativan helps the vertigo but last time it took 3 days of meds to calm it down. i am on day 2 now so i hope relief is in sight.

remember me in your prayers please.

i know some of you said you know what vertigo is all about.
so, i know you understand how the computer screen keeps that motion going. and the tinnitus is in both ears now.

sorry to yak about myself. i think i am at a low point right now and can't concentrate on much else but self pity.

sorry. don't mean to be a downer ..
hope you all have a very good day. i hear it will be sunny and warm today.

That's it! that's the name, Hamburger U. or Hamburger University! I was there once, about almost 10 yrs. ago for a jr.high ministry conference/retreat thru my church.
DMM- what is your mom's job there? Also, glad you dmom got back ok from England. :thumbsup2

slo - I'm so glad your test came back ok!!! :goodvibes

macraven - I'm sorry about your vertigo. I hope you're feeling better soon. Hopefully the medication will kick in today!

Hi all- happy Friday!

Slo- So happy about your biopsy results, no cancer! :cool1:

Macraven- :grouphug: hoping you are feeling better.
Just wondering, my dd gets fluid in her ears at times, tho she doesn't have the vertigo, etc. Would antibiotics help you, to clear out the fluid in the ears? Do they put in ear tubes for adults, to drain the fluid out from the middle ear? Just wondering about this.

Oops! I hit Submit Reply button by accident before I was done

Thank you all for the nice wishes for Matthew :goodvibes
I did get an email back this morning from Matt's teacher. Each of her students did send a poem in to the Library of Poetry last Spring. As of now, she doesn't know if all her students got accepted on to enter the poetry contest or not. Not sure if she'll let me know about that. But we are thrilled to know the Library of Poetry may want to publish his poem!
His teacher did say this school yr, they will be submitting more poetry from her class. I guess this is a literacy thing our school/ teacher is doing.
I will let you all know if Matthew happens to win a poetry contest or is a runner-up.

Ok, gotta go.

Enjoy the nice weather today!

DIS Radio right now...Boogie Shoes! I so love that song! They played it yesterday too. :cool1:
