I will be there anytime, any day.. July 1st weekend is good too, unless Eric and I go to cedar point to ride coasters.. so either one will probably be okay. It will be only me and Geoff just like the last DIS meet we were at..

Thanks, KimRaye for sending me a PM about this one. I'm pretty sure that Mark and I will be able to make it to this, and so far, any one of those dates is okay. But, like someone said "life happens", so I can't set anything in stone!

As far as the food court, though, I remember when we did a food court meet at Stratford, and the security folks were not very happy with us, so if we did the food court, we might need to get an approval from the mall first??

I just wanted to inform everyone about one of the restaurants I spoke with.

After letting them know approx # of people attending, they stated that in order to use their party room (which we would have to because of the size of our group) that they would want us to purchase one of their party packages.
I don't think that many people will like this idea, but I will describe what this would include.
First off, I'm referring to Ed Debevic's.
There are basically 2 party packages:
#1- Appetizer, choice of entree and dessert for $17.95 p/p
#2- Specific sandwich selection and sundae for dessert for $12.95 p/p
Children would be $8.95.
Time would also be limited in their party room, from 1 1/2 hour (pack. #1) to 1 hr. (pack. #2).


I don't see this as a good option for all involved. And I can see how time could be a problem as well. IMO.
But I thought I'd report on what I found out.


I also have a call into the Yorktown Mall manager to discuss if they would have issues with us meeting in the food court.
As soon as I have word from him I will post!

He states that he has NO problem with us meeting at the food court!!
And to just email him with the date we will be there so he can post it and notify the staff that day.

He did ask if there was going to be a public speaker!!
I reassured him that no one with a portable amp and microphone will be coming!!

I nominate Dan Murphy to be the speaker and my dh to set up the mics (dh used to do this kind of thing with the junior high ministry at our church long time ago).

The food court is pretty good. There's a McDonald's, an Arby's, a Cinnabon, a generic Mexican place. I think there's a Panda Express, or at least something similar. I think there's a Pegasus Express now. And a Sbarro's.

There's a Disney store below the food court. And there's a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and a Fannie May's (elsewhere in the mall).

Food court works GREAT for us! HAHAHA i have to admit i about spit my drink out (Bunchkin you have that affect on me) at the thought of a public speaker!!! hahaha...

Now how does this work? will there be name tags? or do we just kinda go by guesses??

Anyone going with kids 6months-17months? or around there? my DS and DD are those ages
