Ours has been closed since we moved here in March. Don't know how long prior to that they've been closed. We instantly became fans of Don Pablo's. Wow, I guess a lot of them have been closed for some time now. I don't really know of any other "mexican" places to eat around here. Hmmm, guess I'll have to start looking or learn how to make fresh salsa, DH and I really don't like the stuff from the store.

Ours was one that just closed this week. A few years ago they were always busy, but now we have several local Mexican Resturants that are half the price, food is better and the portions much larger. I am sorry to see them go but I'm not really surprised. We also read in the paper that Donatos Pizza is closing in our town on Monday. They said they couldn't compete with Pizza King ( another small local area chain). Its strange to see mom and pops doing better than the big corporate chains.

Have you tried Newman's Own Salsa? They make one with pineapple in it that it really good!

We went to our Chi Chi's on Tuesday only to find that it had closed. Must have been within the past month or so that it closed because we had been there recently.

My ds were upset when I told them that I thought I heard it on the radio. It was the only thing that got them to help clean up fil house in NJ. Oh well. There goes our cancun platters. I wonder if they will still have the products in the store, better get my sweet corn cake mix while I can., I might as well by it all, lol.

I thought I'd heard that the Outback folks had bought the chain and were going to change them over to their own Mexican restaurants.
Unfortunately we don't have many Mexican to choices around RI. THere are a couple but no national chains.

Our Chi-Chi's closed a few yrs ago. Ground Round has been gone for awhile except for one up in the Falls. that just closed fairly recently. I loved the Ground Round. Don Pablos still has one rest. left in this area.

There's still Chi-chi's restaurants around? I thought they had all closed ages ago. We use to love going there to eat when I was younger. I don't remember having them here but if you crossed the border into the states, there was one there.

We had two Chi-Chi's here. I remember a time when the wait to be seated was unbelievable. I witnessed their decline over the years. The Chi-Chi's here have been gone a long time(15 years?).
Too bad, but it's not like there aren't numerous Mexican food restaurants to take their niche.

Oh my goodness. Last night DH & I were out and noticed the Chi's- Chi's we use to go to was now closed. We still had restuarants open in Michigan even after the hepatitis outbreak. I bet they are now all closing. Oh well.

Honestly not a big fan of Don Pablos. We still have a Ground Round in Michigan. Also love Bucca Di Beppo. Good authentic italian food!
