We have done a couple of 4 night/ 5 day stays arriving lunchtime on day one and leaving tea time on day 5. We find this to be about right for us. Our youngest - 3 on our June trip last year did everything she could to avoid napping, so even though the parks weren't open late she got increasingly grumpy as the week went on
.
We have stayed in both the Cheyenne and the Sequoia and I definately preferred the Sequoia but that doesn't mean the Cheyenne is bad. I think if it was a choice between 2 nights Sequoia or 3 nights Cheyenne I would go for the Cheyenne but I think either of your choices will give you plenty of time so I would go for the Sequoia.
