Chevy Equinox?

Has anyone rented one? Maybe own one? The alamo site says it only fits 2 small bags, but I looked at the pic's on vehix and the back/trunk seems like a nice size. Is this just a ploy they use?

Do not worry you will be fine. I have one and went to the shore for a week with dh and two dd's and had more than enough room for our luggage, beach chairs, and food. You will have plenty of room.

I was worried about this too. I had reservations for 2 Chevy Equinox SUVs for a total of 9 people. We each had one piece of luggage and one carry-on. When we got to Alamo on 2/25 they didn't even have any Equinox SUVs available. We ended up getting the Chevy Trailblazer which was quite a bit bigger for the same price. So don't be surprised if there aren't any Equinox SUVs in the lot and you end up with more car for the same price. But I did see a few people driving an Equinox while on vacation and I think the trunk would have held all of our bags and certainly more than the 2 small bags they state. Have a great trip!

The Equinox has the sliding back seat that can give limo like legroom (42" they claim) if the luggage load is light and you put the seat all the way back. You can still get three rolling suitcases across in the back if you put the wheels in first and stack the lighter bags on top. It can comfortably hold four adults and their luggage from my experience with one. As the other poster noted, you'll most likely find none in the lot and get a big SUV for the same price. In fact, Alamo offered the bigger SUV for less if we'd take it (but this was in CA where gas prices are absurd so we stayed with the smaller SUV).

Thanks for the info. I reserved the equinox w/alamo. Thanks to the great people on this board for all their tips I got it for $240. for 10 days!
Im still going to keep an eye out for an even lower rate, sine I've got plenty of time before we leave.
