Cheryl & Mathew's 11/11/11 Disney Wedding!

Loving everything so far!! :) You have been dubbed my second wedding Twin!!! :goodvibes

Are you honeymooning in Disney right after the wedding?

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the kind words! You girls are sweet and it's so nice to be welcomed into the DisBoards family!

Because of my crazy last couple days my brain is mush right now. I am seriously a space cadet lol. I'm going to drink another cup of coffee, let myself regenerate for an hour, then get back on and continue my story. In the meantime, I'm catching up on everyone else's PJ's :surfweb:

Yay! 11/11/11 is a GOOD day to be gettin hitched! I'm glad to share the same date as you! :thumbsup2

We are not honeymonning right after. We are staying in Disney, I guess some would call it a mini-moon, but we have a lot of friends from out of town we'll be hanging with. Our official Honeymoon will be next summer, b/c DF won't have enough vacation time left at work. Plus, we want to go to Europe, and they have crappy winters. We're going to wait until it's nice & sunny. :cool1: And til we have more money Lol.

Hee Hee I figured out how to Multi-quote! I know, it was easy, but I've never used forums before. Go me! :cheer2:

I must be honest, this is my first wedding TR to read. I love the idea of someone getting married at WDW

DH and I have tossed around the idea of doing a vow renewal there one day. Our kids would love that!

Congratulations on your engagement and I hope you are having a blast at WDW planning!!

Do it, do it!!! It is so magical doing a Disney Wedding, whether it's a first or renewal! I TOTALLY think you should!

Hi! I love your proposal story..too cute! I too did a quick engagement. I always thought I wanted at least a year to be engaged, but since it took DH 4 1/2 years to propose, I said screw it and planned a wedding in 5 and 1/2 months. And it I loved it! I truly think its because I could get everything done at Disney that it worked so well.

Oh, and what part of Jax are you from? I grew up in Orange Park.

SHUT UP!!!!!! I'm from easy OPeezy! Born and raised, OPHS Class of '98! How RANDOM! :rotfl: What about you?

Ok, Im hooked! Totally in love with your story and your quick planning skills! And I LOVE that you have 8 "Monica" books...:rotfl: Wheres the dress??!?!?!? Im so ready to hear all about your PS! Flowers, invites, dress, hair, food, etc! BRING IT ON!! popcorn::

I promise it's all coming soon after my brain dejumbles. And oh, girl, you should see my books. I walked in with one (a mix of the huge 8 ones) and my DF cracked up :lmao: and said he coudn't believe I brought a book... I'm like, um, have you met me? In what 6th dimension would I NOT bring one?

 Hi, Cheryl!

I loved reading through everything, so far! The picture of you and Ashton is so adorable...I can tell he's a sweet little guy. Again, we have even more in common--coincidentally, I am adopted too! I also really enjoyed the proposal story. :lovestruc
I can't wait to hear about your planning session went! Hopefully, you'll feel more at ease, because that is where you get the bulk of planning done.

Thanks girl! He is a dollface. I get to pick him up day after tomorrow :yay: from his summer at his dad's. He's been gone 2 months! I thought it would never come!

The PS def took a lot of the pressure off, and it was a ton of fun! I will post details in a few! :)

Catching up on peoples PJ's is the best way to start a day!

I know we went to school together at some point. Or you worked somewhere I went all the time or maybe you dated someone I knew. Or something. I went to Lakeside Elementary & OPJH. Where did you work back then? Do you remember Liz Stonum from Clay? What about Erica Velazquez? Ellen Conrad?

I have to tell you how much I LOVE my ring. I would've been happy with a crackerjack box ring. But hot d*mn my DF did good! He had it custom made at a local jeweler for me, so finding a matching band has been a bit of a pain. We finally found one at Kay. He didn't want to go to a chain and get something that everyone else has, but I could care less. As long as it's pretty and matches, I'm good. We haven't bought the bands yet, but will next month probably.

The pictures of my ring aren't all that great, but you get the idea.

What a beautiful ring! He did a great job!!

I having been looking for my dress for what seems like forever. Remember those giant 'Monica' books I mentioned earlier? I think my dress one must be close to 150 pages. So back in 2008 after we got engaged my girlfriend & I went shopping. I must've tried on about 300 dresses. I found one (by Allure) that when I put on, everyone in the shop gasped. It was beautiful. But after a lot of hemming & hawing we finally decided it was a little to fancy for an outdoor wedding. Then I found 3 more- 2 by Maggie Sottero & a designer gown by Justin Alexander. The JA was a $2K dress, but I could've bought the sample for $800. I don't remember the style 3 so I don't have a pic. It weighed about a hundred lbs. so we nixed it. Here are the other 2:

I went home to think on it, and soon after Matt & I decided to put the wedding off another year. So I didn't try on another dress until this past spring. This time, my Mom & Sister came. It was so exciting to have family to go with, and my Mom was so happy to be a part of it. :yay: She missed the first 29 years of my life, so being a part of the wedding process has been even more exciting. I went to find the 2 I had originally loved, and they had been discontinued the week before. I had to start all over again. Hands down, my first choice was a DFTW dress by Alfred Angelo. My faves were Snow White & Cinderella.

I have pics of me in both, but not on my computer. I'll have to add them later. After trying them on I still couldn't pick, so we went to some other boutique's just in case there was something else. Of course, I found more I loved. See, my problem was never that I couldn't find one, it was that I found too many. I actually found 2 more that I liked better than the DFTW ones. And they were at a sample sale, both priced from over $1500 down to $499! Again, I couldn't decide, and my girls suggested that none of them might not be the one. I thought for sure one of those was my dress, but they pointed out that when I found it, I would just KNOW.
We decided we would try the Orlando shops to see if there was something I had missed at the boutiques here in Jax. As I was looking at the Bridal Shop's websites, THERE IT WAS. The moment I saw the picture, I knew that was it. Except I didn't know anything about it. The style, designer, season, or if it was even still made. And the Bridal Shop that advertised had closed. So I went on the hunt. I knew I had seen the background of the picture before, but I couldn't remember where. So I scoured the bridal websites (Knot & Brides) looking. Yep, all 2000 pictures, one by one. Finally after hours I saw the same background. :yay: Mori Lee. I had never even seen a dress of hers in person, but it didn't matter. So the next morning I called every bridal shop in N. Florida (about 60). ONE store carried the sample. In Miami (the complete opposite end of the state). I was devastated. There was no time for me to take a trip down there any time soon, and my window of time to order a dress was QUICKLY running out. I'll admit it. I cried. It was fairly pathetic. I thought it was too far out of reach (there was no way I was buying a dress sight unseen- I'd been deceived by pics too many times). Then my phone rang. The bridal shop 5 minutes from my house had made a mistake; they DID have a smaple.:cheer2: It was a size 20 (I'm a 6) but it was close enough. I called my Mom & Sis (they live in Daytona, over an hour away) and told them to be at the shop at 11 when the doors open. I was going to try on my dress. Dangit if they didn't drop everything and run straight down here that morning.....

The second the dress was on my body, I KNEW. I lost my breath, my stomach did a flip flop, and my heart was pounding. After 3 years I had found my dress. It was everything I had wanted. Feminine, regal, delicate, sparkly, figure flattering & beautiful all at once. It didn't wear me, I wore it. It was in a word- Perfect. I bought then and there. And even talked them down 10%. :woohoo: Luckily it would arrive just in time (I'll have it in Oct) for any alterations, which is pretty much just adding the bustle. Know what we forgot? To take pictures. Argh! In all the excitement, we completely forgot. Or so I thought. While we boohooed over this at lunch afterwards, my Sister's friend whipped out her phone and showed me the pic she had snuck in while none of us were paying attention. I love that girl! :lovestruc
So this is my only shot of me in it:

LOL that's awesome! I remember you from Target. I shopped there a LOT. I knew i recognized your face- now I can picture you wearing the red shirt lol. I never forget a face. And I've known Ellen (and her sis Charlotte) for years, totally knew Jon, too (he ended up living by me after high school). Jason Wells- lord I've known that kid for as long as I remember! We went to church together at Advent & went to school together. I keep in contact with him now on FB.
I worked at Papa John's on Wells (for like a minute) when I was 16, then Steak N Shake on Wells in high school, and Roadhouse (the restaurant, not the bar lol). After high school I worked at Olive Garden & a few years later Hops.

You look gorgeous! And that dress is fabulous! I've seen that one and a few others by Mori Lee that I've oogled and loved in the magazines. But my mom forbids me from trying on anymore. ha.
